In November 2012, my wife and I got a ticket to Bukovel. Little was known about Bukovel: according to the “auditor” program and information on the Internet. We decided to get through Lviv, with an overnight stay there, so as not to arrive in Bukovel late in the evening. Near the railway station at the bus station, we bought tickets to Ivano-Frankivsk at 7.35 in the morning, because a direct flight to Bukovel travels only in the winter-spring period. In Ivano-Frankivsk were at 11.00, immediately took a ticket to Bukovel. Arriving in Bukovel, fortunately, that our Patkovsky hotel is not far from the bus stop, we headed to the reception. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist. Our room was on the second floor next to the dining room. The room has basic amenities: bathroom with shower, wardrobe, dressing table, double bed, balcony, heater, TV, hairdryer and wi-fi. Cons: poor soundproofing, few outlets. Near the entrance of the hotel there is a shop, which is open until 24.00, where regulars "who can not sleep" gather. The hotel fed tasty and varied (morning and evening).
The tour was booked for the next day. The meeting place, which was inconvenient for us, was in Yaremche. The price of excursions is on average 100-150 UAH. After two excursions, as it turned out to be a little expensive with our small budget, we decided to travel on our own. Most of the sights are located in Yaremche, then basically we were there. The first hike was on the rocks of Dovbush (entry 10 UAH) with the ascent to Mount Makovitsa following the route signs on the trees. The climb is not easy for beginners on tree roots and rocks. There is an easier way, but we learned about it later. The weather was sunny, which made it possible to enjoy the surroundings. The next day we decided to go to the Pnevsky castle in the village. Nadvirna. Then we went to Vorokhta, to see the arch-type bridge and springboards in the Avangard complex. A day later we went to Yaremche, to admire the views of the Proboy waterfall, as well as buy souvenirs. On the way to the bus station, we went to have a bite to eat in the hut "at Yakov's". I met Yakov himself, kindly suggested that we try the local cuisine. We ordered banosh with porcini mushrooms, borscht and shish kebab. We were served in a beautiful design, which gave us an appetite)))). We decided to spend the day before departure in Bukovel. We rode the lift (35 UAH per person), went to the restaurant "at Mikoli", the prices are twice as high as "at Yakov's". Bukovel bypassed in two hours. Conclusion: you need to go in the season, but the prices are much more expensive.
No matter how much you would like to climb Hoverla and other mountains, you can only get there with a tour or by car. There is no entertainment in Bukovel itself, and there are no ATMs, except for the ubiquitous “private”. But all the disadvantages are smoothed out by favorable weather, nature, fresh air and, most importantly, sympathetic, friendly local people.
