At the beginning of August 2013 with the help of the Grupon service we bought a holiday coupon at the Continent Hotel for 6 days / 5 nights. At once I will notice that it is not absolutely exact - in these six days count both day of arrival (settlement from 14-00), and day of departure (departure from hotel till 12-00), therefore actually full-fledged days turn out.

He and his son (7 years old) went on vacation. At first we stopped in Mukachevo for a day, and from there we took a bus to Polyana. Hotel "Continent" is located near the road and bus stop in Polyana, which is quite convenient in terms of logistics. The area near the hotel is small, some are set aside for a summer restaurant, the rest is occupied by a rope park. There is an asphalt parking lot for vehicles. At the same time, there is almost no free space for walks or children's games.

The standard double room (we were accommodated on the 4th floor) is small, the room has a small refrigerator and an old TV.

The room has access to a shared (for several rooms) balcony. Plumbing in normal condition, everything is clean and tidy. One of the disadvantages is the worn-out and in some places dirty carpet, you can't hang the shower in the holder on the wall, because it barely holds, the TV in the room when we were housed without working. However, after contacting the reception, the TV was quickly repaired.

Note that in general, hotel employees work more reactively than proactively. That is, when a problem arises and customers pay attention to it, the staff politely and promptly tries to solve it. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as working ahead. It would seem that before settling people - take a check to see if anything is broken or if everything is working. But ...

Rooms are cleaned daily, but towels and bed linen are not changed on request. On the first day we saw three pieces of soap and one (! ) - for a double room for 5 days! - a bag of shampoo.
These stocks were no longer replenished. It is good that I have already read in the reviews about this feature of the local service and stocked up on my soap and shampoo. Water, cold and hot, around the clock, but one evening from the taps came almost black dirty water. Of course, washing on this day was out of the question (okay, though it didn't happen again).

As for food, the cuisine in the "Continent" is very tasty. Our accommodation included breakfast (ordered in the evening from 4 options), and my son and I had lunch and dinner, choosing something delicious from the menu. The choice of dishes is quite good, there are dishes of Transcarpathian and Transylvanian cuisine, barbecue dishes, delicious desserts and drinks.

The disadvantage of the restaurant was its extreme slowness. In the morning, if breakfast was ordered at 9:00, we had to wait another 20 minutes for it to be delivered. In the evening you had to wait a long time for the waiter to come to you or for you to prepare the ordered dish.
At the same time, the waitress girls will not stand - they are running. There is an impression that the restaurant simply does not have enough employees to provide quality service to visitors. What is the reason - I do not know. Either the owners are saving (which is most likely), or they can't organize the internal processes properly - in the kitchen and in the hall.

Regarding prices (for information): banosh - UAH 30-35. , bograch - 40 hryvnias. , Hungarian goulash or chovlent - UAH 45. , retesh with cheese - 26 hryvnias. , espresso coffee - 10 hryvnias. , Latin - 15 hryvnias. , draft Mykulynets beer (0.5 l. ) - UAH 13. In the evening on weekdays - live music, candles are lit on the tables.

If you want to order pizza (and it is also very tasty here! ), You can do it only when the oven is free, ie there are no other orders for it. My son and I tried to order pizza twice a day, but each time we couldn't. We ate pizza only in the evening, cooked it for us for about 50 minutes.
By the way, in order not to waste time, I often just went to the counter, asking for a menu, and when I had to pay - I went to the counter again, because you could wait for your waiter with a menu or bill for a long time.

A pleasant moment in the restaurant was the opportunity to drink an unlimited amount of local mineral water, which was simply poured near the jug, and you could come at any time and pour yourself a glass or two of water. However, on the penultimate day of our vacation, the mineral water ran out, and reappeared only a day later.

The "Continent" has its own pool, which is very appropriate, because there is no place to swim around. The pool is good, though small, about 10x4 m, the water is warm and clean. The only bad thing is that when a company orders a bath, the pool is closed to other visitors. This is not convenient and we were not warned about it (in the conditions of our residence it was stated: "the pool is free at any time").
It is good that such an overlay appeared only once.

The advertised rope park is good entertainment, but several times. Only a fan can climb the ropes every day. Twice was enough for my baby, one for me. There are also bicycle rentals that have been used about three times.

As for excursions, they are organized as follows. At the reception desk are printed A4 sheets with various options for excursions. Clients can register on the appropriate sheets and if the number of applicants is sufficient (6-8 people), the tour will take place. My son and I went on two excursions - to Uzhgorod and the surrounding castles and monasteries. Tourists are served by colorful local guys in small buses. In general, it was interesting, especially Vasily, with whom we went to Uzhgorod.

There is almost no place to walk directly near Polyana - the village stretches along the road, there are no well-kept parks nearby.
To a small market and several shops where you can buy quality fruit or things, go about 1.5 km. Next to "Continent" at the stop there is a small convenience store and several eateries, magnificently called "restaurants". Therefore, people will travel by bus to Svalyava (11 km), where the same. The station has a supermarket "Vopak" and a bazaar.

Summing up, we can say that you can relax in the "Continent", in general, the conditions are normal, although the declared 3 stars still have to work. There are no complaints against ordinary staff, they try, work - for which we thank them very much, but there are questions to the owners / management. In particular, we have personally encountered most of the comments that were written in previous reviews, and which have not yet been corrected. For example, my son touched his foot by the pool (on the far, deepest side, by the pipe) - this has already been written about, but, unfortunately, we also stepped on this rake.
It is really impossible to play billiards normally.
Neighbors really smoke on the shared balconies and the smoke lingers near the room. Well, I don't even want to mention trinkets like shampoos, soap or missing clothes / shoes.

And from the kitchen of the "Continent" I want to mention again with a warm word. Give it to the chef - thank you, it was very tasty!
