Rest in Polyana. Sunny Transcarpathia.
Transcarpathia has long been our favorite holiday destination in the Carpathian region. This is the most beautiful nature, a very mild climate, the gentle sun, the most tolerant population of western Ukraine, local color and humor, and it's also delicious bograch, banosh and potato pancakes! Last time we rested in Shayan, this time we wanted to explore and test the Glade. Polyana is a picturesque village in the Svalyavsky district, conditionally divided into two recreation areas, which we did not know before and therefore did not take into account some features.
The first seating area is directly c. Glade, i. e. its center, where the Polyana sanatorium and mineral water in the pump room "Polyana Kupel" are located, as well as the private sector, providing accommodation in the immediate vicinity of the sanatorium, and a few private hotels (including Quelle Polyana and Hortensia).
Here is the second zone- this is the territory where the Sunny Transcarpathia sanatorium is located, and the water in pump room "Polyana Kvasova", there is also a bottling plant for this water. And this area is located two kilometers from the center of the village. Glade.

We did not take this into account and rented a room in a cottage in the center of the village. Polyana is in the private sector, therefore, they drank the water "polyana font", which in its properties is inferior to the "glade of kvass", since the degree of its mineralization is much lower. Therefore, if you need water "Polyana Kvasova", place yourself on the territory of the sanatorium "Sunny Transcarpathia", this area is also called "Shanghai" because of the large crowds of people, since there are really a lot of tourists and infrastructure is developed. On the territory there are private sanatoriums, residential complexes, villas, as well as many restaurants, cafes, shops and souvenir shops. There is also a large market and an outdoor pool "Polyanskie fonts". But this place, if you can call it that, is more of a party place, that is, a constant movement. And if you want to enjoy only nature and silence, then it is better to stay directly in the village. Glade, especially since the prices here are an order of magnitude lower. We have studied the entire infrastructure of both these zones and the surrounding area, so if you have any questions, write in a personal message, I will answer.
Accommodation. We rented a double room on the 2nd floor in a private cottage(the room is good, with a bathroom, the room had everything you need - a new bedroom set, but there was no mosquito net on the window, and I had to make it myself).

On the first floor there was also a double room and a kitchen on the side (shared for 2 rooms), the cost is 250 UAH. per day. In principle, you can stay there, but personally, the hosts and guests who constantly came to me strained me, it’s better to shoot something separately from the hosts. After walking around the village and looking closely at the territory, we found a couple more - three good options in the private sector and one good cottage complex "Babushki" in the very center of the village of Polyana, not far from the sanatorium "Polyana".
But for ourselves, for the future, we chose apartments in the Polyana Apart complex on the territory of the Solnechnoe Zakarpattya sanatorium, because, having studied the entire infrastructure, we settled on this option, taking into account the fact that Polyana Kvasova water is needed. Advantages: the complex is new, in front of the pool "Polyanskiye kupeli", near the sanatorium and pump room with water "Polyana kvasova", near the lake where you can take a walk and ride on catamarans, there is a forest area with health paths around, which is very important (there are no health paths in Polyana itself, and we walked into the forest just along wild paths, which is not very convenient. There is no civilization as such in the Glade, just a village relaxation). In general, choose for yourself: if peace and quiet - then the village of Polyana, if comfort and civilization - then the Sunny Transcarpathia complex. There we also looked at some good options, for example, "Villa Terrace", very comfortable accommodation and a new building, the private sanatorium "Sofia", but you need to look where the windows go, and a number of private residential complexes. But we didn’t like the advertised “Vodogray”, as well as the “Reikartz”, which is generally located right by the road, but everyone has their own opinion and their own tastes and preferences.

Healing. We underwent treatment in the sanatorium "Polyana". First, in order to get a spa book, you need to go through a doctor who will give you a referral for an ECG and tests, and then, based on the results, the doctor will prescribe you a number of procedures that you will take after paying for them at the box office. There is not a very wide range of procedures in Polyana, but there are still some. I will write why we did not live in a sanatorium. Previously, we always bought a ticket, but recently it has become an unreasonably high cost. Sanatoriums are often Soviet-style, the food is standard, the procedures are not all included in the price of the permit, and even those that are included, they began to write out at a minimum. As a result, you overpay a lot for services not rendered to you. Therefore, we came to the conclusion that it is better to rent accommodation in close proximity to the sanatorium, and pay only for those procedures that we accept. I will not dwell on the range of procedures, they can be found on the website of the sanatorium.
Food. On the territory of the sanatorium "Polyana" there is a restaurant where you can order a set lunch or choose from a customized menu. We dined at this restaurant every day for 14 days. The cost of a complex lunch is from 45 UAH. up to 75 UAH, depending on which number of the complex you choose. We tried all seven numbers. For such a price - it's just super! True, the portions are small, not the same as on the customized menu, but I ate completely, and my husband sometimes ordered something. When they didn’t want to take it in a complex, they ordered from the menu and more than 200 UAH. for lunch for two never worked, an average of 150 UAH. We had breakfast at home, near the sanatorium there is a market where they sell milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, eggs, vegetables, fruits, from which we built a simple breakfast. And they ate dinner mainly on the territory of the Sunny Transcarpathia complex, since every evening they either went (5 minutes by minibus) or went for a walk there (20 - 25 minutes on foot). We tried the cuisine of many catering establishments, but I liked the Camilla cafe, everything is delicious and homemade, and the prices are adequate.
LeisureIn terms of leisure, we were quite satisfied with nature and clean mountain air. But here you can find anything. Firstly: there are a lot of tour agencies offering diverse excursions: historical, educational, entertaining, sports, and relaxation. Thermal springs are located nearby, for example, 100 km. there is a thermal complex Zhayvoronok, it is new and quite good. In with. Lumshory offer vats of hot water. In with. Voevodino has a chic complex of the same name, where you can spend the whole day in nature with a beautiful landscape, while you can fish for trout, ride horses, fry a barbecue and just take a walk. You can also take a walk to the sanatorium "Kvitka Polonini", where there is a mini-zoo, and the territory itself is very beautiful.

For those who have an interest in history and architecture, there is an interesting tour of the castles. We went on this excursion, visited two castles - a medieval castle in the village. Chinadievo and Shenbornov castle with a park and forest land. The tour is very interesting, I recommend it.

We liked everything in Mukachevo - the city itself, the Palanok castle, and the tasting of Transcarpathian wines. And Uzhgorod somehow didn’t impress, but I liked the tour in the humorous tavern “child at the notary. ”

You can also go to Rakhiv and to the village. Business, where the geographical center of Europe is located. There are also farms where deer and ostriches are bred, I really liked it there. In general, you will definitely not be bored here. Everyone will be interested here - both children and adults.
It is better, of course, to come here by car, then you will have high mobility in terms of movement. And we arrived by train, but the next year we already decided that we would only go by car, since it is absolutely necessary here. But you can also do without a car, a taxi here is inexpensive, minibuses are also enough. In general, I definitely advise everyone to rest in these places, a win-win option, unlike the Carpathian region, where the climate is very unstable and in summer there is just crazy air humidity and a sharp temperature drop. Here, too, it is fresh in the mornings, after all, mountains, but this is not as noticeable as in Truskavets or Morshyn. The best time, I think, is August, when constant heat is established and there are already mushrooms and berries. We were in the first half of July, it was also comfortable, only in the mornings you need to put on a sweater. And last time we were in Transcarpathia in the first half of October, and the weather was also very comfortable. So, probably, from May to October it should be wonderful here. In general, you can write for a long time, so I’m finishing my hunter’s notes, it’s better to ask questions, I will try to answer objectively.
