We are from Mariupol, I am a husband and 13 year old son Michael. We came to Edelweiss on the recommendation of my cousin Irina, who had a rest here last year in the fall. I consider the main priority of this place to be more than a moderate fee for a quite decent rest. Possibility to go to the swimming pool and be treated with mineral water for free. I especially want to stop on the hiking trails that the local guide Nikolai took us to. These are two ascents to Javornik and Golanya (mountains not far from the complex), and a hike to the place where the Knyaginsky meteorite fell. It took about four and a half hours to get to the first trip to Javornik, at the top a camp of tourists was set up, more “wild” than us, they lived in tents, received us quite cordially, told us a lot of interesting things about these places, treated us to bogrash, which was cooked in a pot on an open fire - I really liked it, but we turned out to be not a year old to live in tents and returned to the base, the way back took about 3.5 hours. After 2 days we went to Golanya, this ascent turned out to be much more difficult than the previous one, steeper climbs, and the route was more difficult. I thought that our son Mikhail would be the weak link, but it turned out that the weak link was me - all the time I had to keep up with them and another woman, Daria from Odessa, whom I met in Edelweiss. But nothing - we did it! In total, the second route took about 10 hours with small breaks. Two days before departure, we went to the site of the fall of the Knyaginsky meteorite, this is a local landmark, the trip turned out to be easier than the previous two. This place is very close to the Slovak border, we were warned to take our passports, because this is considered a border zone, and for good reason, the border guards talked to us quite friendly, especially since they know Kolya well, they just checked the passports and let go. On the way, I was surprised by a myriad of blackberries, very large and unusually tasty. . We were more than satisfied with the rest at the base, especially pleased with the sincere and not ostentatious (as it sometimes happens), the desire of the girls (I especially want to thank Maryana) to make our vacation enjoyable and unforgettable. And I want to note to other tourists - to go to the Carpathians and not go hiking in the mountains is the same as going to the Crimea and not swimming in the sea. Do not be lazy, get a lot of pleasure, increase your own self-esteem, but for health it is better than physical exercises in the fresh air and proper nutrition - no one has come up with yet !! !
