My husband and I come every three to five years, and my friends have been annual guests of this hotel since 2005! In our opinion, this is the best hotel on the coast of South Goa. Firstly, the first line by the sea and very close to a huge beach with creaky, starch-like sand. We really like the territory of the hotel: green, clean, well-groomed, and now mostly with renovated rooms in cottages. ABOUT THE ROOM: we had a standard, the first floor of the cottage, No. 222 (third line). Cleaning is daily, change of linen and towels (white! ! ) also every day. Daily replenishment of shower gel, shampoo, soap, 1 bottle of water per person, tea/coffee/sugar/cream. The room has a kettle, glasses, mugs, teaspoons. The mini fridge and air conditioner worked well. TV with one Russian channel.
There were some problems with the light in the room, but the biggest problem was with WiFi in the room!
BREAKFASTS (used to be half board in this hotel): two types of fruit (banana, mango, pineapple, watermelon, etc. ) and juices, scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs to choose from, beans in tomato, baked tomatoes, boiled potatoes, tortillas with and without filling , yogurt, milk, 2 types of cereal, porridge, two types of jam, butter, tea/coffee. Of course, the assortment for breakfast is much smaller than, for example, in hotels in Greece, Turkey or Egypt, but we had enough. A light LUNCH is provided in the hotel restaurant. DINNER can be at the hotel in the restaurant (a very varied menu and everything is deliciously cooked) or on the beach in the neck. We recommend 3 necks to the left of the path (if you go to the sea): everywhere they understand a little Russian, they cook very tasty fish in the tandoor, shrimp, lobsters and cakes with garlic.
In the first neck on the left, you can exchange dollars for rupees at a good rate, and as a bonus for the order, they will bring pineapple or watermelon. In the second (the owner Jimmy), when ordering fish, they will offer a bonus: a shot of local rum and bananas, and they will also offer magazines and books in Russian for leisure (what tourists leave) and uninterrupted WIFI. With the third neck (it is held by the family), the most comfortable sunbeds on the beach. In all three we either had lunch or dinner. Together with us there were regular guests - the British, Poles, French. We did not go to Rosa's shake, about which our tourists write so much, on this visit. Prices in the shakes and the hotel restaurant are about the same. The cost of lunch / dinner per person = from 400 to 800 rupees depending on the dish (this is with local very tasty beer). EXCHANGE: take 100$ and 50$ bills, because when exchanging for them, the rate will be higher. We changed in the first neck on the left and in the tent, which is on the right along the road to the sea (at Sony).
In Colva (a village 30 minutes walk along the beach along the sea) you can also exchange money, but you need to know exactly where the best rate is. 1 rupee = 1 ruble (approximately). By the way, if you are planning to buy something in Colva (fruits, souvenirs, tea, spices, etc. ) BARGAIN! ! ! The price in the shops is called initially overpriced sometimes three times! Feel free to name your price option, and after a little bargaining, the purchase will cost you much less than the original price. Bargaining is not possible only if the price is already indicated on the product. EXCURSIONS: if for the first time in Goa, take a sightseeing tour of 4 objects, these are a waterfall, spice plantations, the capital of South Goa and Temples. You can go along this route with a taxi driver (at the hotel they constantly offer their services much cheaper than the cost of excursions from tour operators. Taxi with a license. Not dangerous. You will be taken, waited, recommended where to dine, brought to the hotel. Goa we are going for a great massage!
You can go to the salon at the hotel, but the prices there are much higher than those of individual masseurs. We and our friends have been using the services of a Nepalese masseur Andrea for ten years now, who works in a tiny office in Sonya's tent (if you go to the beach - on the right). He is special! ! ! It is necessary to sign up for it in advance on the first days of arrival, you can immediately for several sessions in advance, because Andrea knows everyone well and come for massages from other hotels and villas. The cost of a total massage of almost an hour = 700 rupees (cf. in the salon almost 2000 rupees), zonal massage - prices by agreement.
There are a lot of Russians in 2017, so be prepared for the feeling that you are in Russia, Russian speech is all around and not only literary, alas. In general, the British, French, and Poles are accustomed to relaxing in South Goa.

This is my third trip to GOA (south) and two of them I stayed in this hotel with the only difference being that the first time we lived in a regular room, and now (we paid $ 30 for the possibility of early check-in and apparently for this (was booked standard) we were settled in a villa. We arrived together with my husband (usually we take older children with us, but not this time). The villa is just huge, 2 floors. A minimum of furniture and a lot of empty space. two bathrooms. Definitely a plus a large veranda , peace and quiet, shady paths - all that I lacked in the main building with standards last time, and now still (on the main territory on the basis of the dining room, the nearby lawn, then weddings are held (very wide, loud and, frankly, I b didn’t want to live there during this period) it’s just Indian parties and meetings (usually on weekends, but it happened on weekdays). But there is a shake and there is sun when there is something to catch up. In general, nothing has changed. For food in the necks. Prices have risen, which of course is not encouraging, plus everything is their monetary reform, and here we are once again glad that there are no children with us, maybe the problem is with the cash rupee, just give them new dollars (otherwise the exchange rate will simply be very, very unprofitable) , withdraw at an ATM - the limit is below the plinth (2000 rupees per day from the card and even wait in line for an hour). By the end of the holiday, this ATM stopped issuing money, the rest did not work. But at that time it didn’t bother us anymore, because it was towards the end of the holiday. They gave dollars in the neck, when we gave them twenty, and we had change in rupees (often there was simply not the right amount in the neck to exchange $ 100). Hindus love large $100 bills and accept them at the highest possible rate (if they are new), but there were not many vacationers and there was not enough cash to exchange, so in the neck where we ate constantly, we accepted dollars of any denomination at the rate of 66 rupees . When buying tea, they paid by bank transfer, it is also possible at the hotel. As for food in the necks, this is a separate issue. . You shouldn’t choose a Shake based on reviews, because at the end of the season all the necks are dismantled and reassembled for the new season and the name may remain, but the owner is already different, or a team is being recruited for the season, but they don’t cook as well as the next one, etc. so earlier, while relaxing in this hotel, we ate at Rosa and we liked everything, but this year, when we arrived at the beach, we ordered a sliced pineapple.... and we were given a frankly rotten product. Well, if we were buying a whole unpeeled pineapple, then it’s clear that it’s not always possible to guess what’s inside. But then, they cleaned it for us, cut it, and she saw that it was 80% spoiled and, as if nothing had happened, served it for use. We drew her attention to this, to which the answer was that it was not her fault that he had deteriorated. At lunch, we ordered fish from her and it turned out to be raw. . We didn’t go to her anymore, but went to eat in the neighboring Sheik, having previously tasted food from two others located nearby. It was delicious everywhere, but in the neck of Magzika (it is the first one at the entrance to the beach in lilac shades and a carpet laid by the employees of this neck leads to it so that it would be more convenient to walk on the sand and immediately in the right direction) but Nani (this is not the owner, but how would be the manager) a great guy, pleasant and cheerful, he could always explain what kind of dish, fulfill your wishes for food (both in cooking and in the import of sea reptiles that were not represented), it was also thanks to him that we had problems with the local currency bypassed us (he took from us all the old money, kindly handed to us during the exchange of currencies, due to our ignorance on the first day (they were no longer accepted for settlement in shops and shops (with the exception of fruit stalls), and from 24.11 they even announced termination of their acceptance throughout India) and in the future, regardless of the denomination and year of issue of dollars, the exchange rate was the maximum for us). He always tried to please us with pleasant little things (just like that) - he will fry chips for beer, then he will cut pineapple. And somehow We witnessed that the visitors did not like the soup and did not take money from the visitors for it, but clarified what they did not like, and in the future, it was for these visitors that the soup was cooked according to their preferences (I immediately recall Rosa with her rotten pineapple and raw fish). We were the first to come to the beach, everyone else had sunbeds in a heap, not spaced, and ours were already waiting for us in our place : ) Such pleasant little things are very pleasing. On the last evening, he organized an excellent farewell dinner for us on the shore, he made a fuss and found us a coin to throw into the ocean. By the time we left, new necks had grown like mushrooms on the shore, and even two (different owners) "Kolya cafes" appeared, one on the right, the other on the left of the beach access. In general, the rest was excellent, but this hotel, in view of its noise, is unlikely to be chosen again (this was not the case on our last visit, but the hotel advertises itself as a center for various events, while completely unable to protect vacationers from them). But in general, as for India, the hotel is good (already 4 stars). The hotel gives (we for 7 days) free Wi-Fi, but he lives his own separate life.... and he is more often not there than he is, but he finished off to the beach (if he worked). We enjoyed excellent wi-fi in the neck. We went out of old memory to the Coconut Grove4 * hotel (it is very close, on the left side of the Nanu Resort), where we rested for the first time and we really liked Joe and his shake, we wanted to eat ice cream there. but disappointment awaited us, now it is a Pushkin cafe with several young and fashionable guys who frankly "clung" to girls who had a rest without boyfriends (apparently everyone has their own methods to attract customers). We spent the whole day near this neck (this is when we were looking for a new place after the Rose feeding) and watched it all. In addition, I didn’t like the seafood soup (Nani’s cook it with milk and it’s much tastier) and the fried rice with seafood was interspersed with burnt ingredients. We made conclusions and went to look further.

Flight: We flew with the North wind, the B-757 plane was clean, did not stink, we were fed several times. We arrived early in the morning, everything is standard: fill out an immigration card on the plane while you are standing in line, the staff distributes cards with a question about luggage, they ask about a satellite phone in luggage, gold bars and seeds of exotic plants - the funny thing is that no one checks luggage, but without a completed card on each person (we had one suitcase for two) you will not be released. … More ▾ Flight:

We arrived early in the morning, everything is standard: fill out an immigration card on the plane while you are standing in line, the staff distributes cards with a question about luggage, they ask about a satellite phone in luggage, gold bars and seeds of exotic plants - the funny thing is that no one checks luggage, but without a completed card on each person (we had one suitcase for two) you will not be released. Attention! immediately after the card is handed over, the ZONE OF DIVORCE FOR MONEY begins - sticky porters and barkers jump at you at the exchange points. "Help with a suitcase" will cost you 1000 rubles per 100 meters and the exchange rate will obviously be horse. the guide of the travel company meets immediately at the exit - for some reason they are not allowed into the airport. if by this time you have not yet been scammed for loot - go to the bus 100m downhill to the right.
Hotel:
We chose the hotel based on online reviews, so there was nothing particularly unexpected. We lived in a villa - across the road from the main area with a reception and a restaurant. The villa is a two-story room with its own entrance, a refrigerator, 2 air conditioners and fans on the 2nd floor, a large balcony under a canopy, 2 bathrooms and something like a kitchen area. The hotel is clean, probably "sterile clean" for India. The check-in was clearly on schedule, despite the fact that we arrived at the very beginning of the season and the villas were empty. We knew this in advance, so we immediately changed in their pantry at the reception, drove off to the beach and returned by 12:50. Wi-Fi is very expensive and, according to some reports, very unstable. It is really strange why the hotel does not have Russian-speaking staff, although 80-90% of the guests are Russian-speaking with very modest English - as a result, most of the communication with the staff is with gestures. Breakfast - modest, but tolerable for 3 *. My wife went to the spa at the hotel. The impressions are generally positive, although expensive and constantly trying to fool either in time or money. In general, cheating on loot by all possible and impossible methods is an almost continuous process in India from the moment you leave the sterile zone of the airport and ending with boarding the return plane. Get ready. Who doesn't like haggling - probably India is not for you - IMHO even the Arabs have achieved less in divorcing tourists for loot. I don’t understand people who buy jewelry in India when they try to breed you 3-4 times even on a lousy rag and slip junk on them. or Are all buyers professional jewelers?
Beach, sea, merchants and necks:
on the way to the beach a couple of shops - to buy or not - it's up to you, but the exchange rate of bucks for rupees is good. Shakes (cafes on the beach) are concentrated in groups, I recommend trying a few or at least walking around, looking at the menu and asking for WiFi - for example, I didn’t like the vaunted Rosa by everyone - the menu is modest, there is no Wi-Fi. The competition is big - barkers pull in the necks of all those walking along the beach. Personally, we liked the necks most of all, which are located to the left of the exit to the beach, 200 m (towards Colva). The beach itself is chic - wide and empty, crabs rush along it in large numbers, at low tide you can find starfish. The coast is gentle and the depth grows slowly. The ocean itself is warm, rather muddy, sometimes plankton hisses, but not critically. From time to time you can see some fish, but it makes no sense to take a mask. At night, a small snake was seen on the beach - poisonous or not - they did not check.
Around the hotel:
Excursions were not taken - at the beginning of the season, Pegasus had only a couple of excursions of the "sightseeing tour for $ 50 per person. " Taxi drivers offer "spice waterfalls" - read the reviews - were not impressed and did not go.
We went in the direction of Betalbatim inland along the road (there is nothing special to see, there is a Zara expensive souvenir shop, but any taxi driver will happily take you there), along the beach to Colva (30 minutes on foot) and to Majorda (an hour and a half one way) walked along a completely empty beach.
In Colva, there is one street from the beach (it makes NO sense to go left and right) - shops, merchants' tents, there are several ATMs. Goods for an amateur, mostly junk at horse prices (bargain until the price drops by 2-3 times) to his wife, their appearance reminded domestic bazaars of the early 90s. We bought fruits (negotiate) souvenirs (negotiate strongly) water-beer (no bargaining), withdraw money (you can try to bargain, but I'm afraid the ATM will not appreciate the impulse).
India as a whole:
In short - not impressed, the prices are generally higher than in Thailand, the service is several times lower. Nothing to see and expensive. Specificity - dirt, beggars, divorce for loot. In short, India is not my choice.
What to take with you: documents, the main money can be carried on plastic - there are a lot of ATMs BE SURE to take a high-quality flashlight or two with you - power outages are regular, and at night you need to look under your feet when walking.

Clean, comfortable, excellent food, a good SPA salon, the territory, although small, is licked and well-groomed. The beach is really 100 m. The beach is just a song - wide, huge, clean. During daylight hours, the tide is low in the morning and the tide is quite strong in the afternoon. Water 27-28 degrees, swimming is a pleasure. Right on the beach, a good shake where you can order the freshest fish and seafood, fresh juices, cold beer, soft drinks for lunch. Tourists are 80% Russians, but the audience is quite intelligent, calm, many with children. On the way to the beach, a fruit seller sells all day - the prices are the same as in the nearest village. In general, in winter, a great opportunity to warm up and swim in the warm sea, do an Ayurvedic massage, sit on a fish and fruit diet. For those who have been in India or Sri Lanka before, you can not go on excursions at all. Now I plan to repeat the trip to Goa in early December.

The reception also has cells, probably paid. There are no mosquitoes, but something and somewhere still bit me, then itched. The food is specific, of course, but quite edible. We paid for the obligatory Christmas dinner - there the tables were breaking, but not a single gram of liquid was allowed. For 93 dollars. per person, one could at least put a bottle of water and rum on the table. And further. The hotel is 90% Russian-speaking, and the evening was in English. Everything about the hotel.
The sea is a delight, a miracle, a fairy tale, etc. etc.
Indians are the kindest, most benevolent, lovely people.
The country is unusual, bewitching, the camera and the camera can not be turned off at all. The notorious dirt in Egypt is 100 times more.
Shake Koli at the hotel is an eatery compared to the shake at Antonio's towards Colva. It's a 10 minute walk, but it's worth it in every way.
Summary: We travel to a different country every year. but next year - again in GOA!!!!!!!!! !

But if the plane is in a ball (Sheremetyevo), do not expect this joy and find entertainment on board in advance. It's boring to fly during the day. We flew from the library, met an exotic concord. There are no complaints about either one or the other. Guides are always in touch - you don't feel lost. Buy a local operator's SIM card from the guide. 20 dollars and 350 rupees on the account. Calls to Moscow cost us just a penny. The minute of the conversation is not fixed, but depends on how much they talked - from 10 rupees per minute to 0.6 rupees. After each call or sms, the screen displays infa-how much is left and how much the next minute will cost. conveniently. For example, our goodlay offered a minute from India to Russia for 1 dollar, I generally keep quiet about the megaphone. The airport is military and small. Indians at customs are long, slow. Stood at passport control for half an hour. This despite the fact that there were no flights other than us. About the return flight is a separate song. Shuttle buses are a blast and hello from their 80.... Killed, gouged, terrible roads, no driving. I am glad that no more than 20 km to the hotel to shake. I won't take their buses again. Taxi costs about 20-25 dollars - fast and comfortable. The hotel was settled at once, they did not expect anything, although they arrived at about 11 am. The hotel is divided into 2 areas separated by a fence. We took Exe. . , so we lived where the reception and the restaurant. Bungalows for 4 rooms. Given on the 2nd floor. Everything is clean and beautiful, no complaints. The hotel itself is 4 if they would invest in it and provide a little more services. Three plus, that's for sure. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly, helpful. All requests are resolved within 10 minutes max. Internet is chargeable on the territory of the hotel, but !!! ! communication is more or less only in the reception area. 1 hour - 120 rupees, 1 day - 400 rupees, 7 days - 1000 rupees. Consider the benefit yourself. The speed is always different, often I had to ride to Colva in an Internet cafe. At work, heavy documents simply did not leave. Food-breakfasts, as everyone writes, are quite modest, but you won’t be hungry if there is always something on the shore of the neck, where you can refuel nutritiously. Dinner is more fun here, there is a choice. Live music in the evenings. The pool is one of the cleanest I've seen, cools in the heat. I tried their vaunted rum, nothing like that, you can drink it. Beach-September or something, the Indian authorities have banned the necks of more than 5 sun loungers on the beach. Each gets five. We always ate in KOLI's neck. About poisoning in the necks, this is a rarity, apparently. Neither we nor anyone else from our hotel has experienced this. Even if they don’t have such sanitation as they should, but no one was poisoned. The guy there is quick-witted, speaks a little Russian, quick. We always lay on the sand, this is not tense. They have sun loungers there for a shake, but we didn’t go to bed there, there is a garbage dump. The ocean is gorgeous, you can’t count on cleanliness, you can’t see anything. But on the other hand, a lot of the most diverse living creatures are found in it - mollusks, stars, jellyfish, all kinds of cancerous species.... It is interesting to poke around with them in the sand when the wave throws them out. Were in Panaji and Margao-chesno-for me, garbage and poverty. . . Were at the night market, reminds us of our chirkezon, sorry for the slang. People come there to hang out, a lot of people, all sorts of performances. I chose the south of Goa because it is quiet and calm there, not like in the north. Taxi drivers. Go outside the hotel gates - they always hang out there. They ask where you are. Prices are small by our standards, but you can bargain. For example, Colva round trip is 400 rupees (at about 230 rubles), plus he is waiting for you there for an hour or even 2, while you walk and walk. My husband and I became attached to one taxi driver, exchanged phone numbers and only rode with him. Somehow he drove us there and there all day and took us for 65 dollars. For the whole day !! ! Plus, he went everywhere with us, where we need to buy something good, tea, not the one for tourists, took us to their market. for their own. The sight is terrible, but the tea is worth it. And all in the same spirit. He is with us like a chicken and an egg. Helped wherever needed. Traders are intrusive and meticulous. But they don't snap if you refuse them. It is necessary to bargain!!!!! ! Three times for sure! We bought it ourselves. and at the same time they do not remain in the invoice. In general, a lot of things are expensive there, because for a tourist. Jewelry. I bought in shops. The quality of silver at exorbitant prices in shops is very lame. Lots of fakes. They sold it like turquoise for 60 bucks, I chipped off the paint on a bead, a silent scene.....the curtain.... And so everything!! ! 10 times double-check. But I got a lot of Himalayan cosmetics, their scarves for gifts. There are things that are worth it. We, as experienced ones, already took very few things with us - a suitcase, there was another smaller one in it. On the road, both to the eyeballs and packed. Overpayment for overweight is expensive. Hand luggage at Transaero-5 kg, not 10. I had a backpack weighing 12 kg. It has fruits. And what if everything is so delicious. I thought they would take it, nope. All brought to the children. Flight back. an hour and a half of torment and just checks. Soldiers with machine guns do not add joy. Queues everywhere and for all checks. They work very slowly. At the clothing control, women are examined separately from men. And only a woman. They touch everything. The whole body, I mean. Customs passed - loading into a bus without air conditioning in 35 degree heat and driven 100 meters to the plane. Then everything went according to plan - departure and we are at home. Do not forget to fill out immigration cards for arrival and departure. Everything is in English. Indians help at the airport. Learn English - if someone does not speak. At least a little. All Hindus speak it fluently. Or almost everything. According to the hotel, price and quality, everything is fine, we did not regret it. In general, in India, I was in Thailand in March, so I came to my senses for a long time, comparing the dirt, garbage and poverty of India with a civilized and clean Phuket. After 2 days I fell in love with India. It is unique, but charming in its own way. You just have to look deeper into it. Goa is not India, but a post-Party space, so chtoli. . . But still India. I will return to it. I know that many after the first trip close it for themselves. And I will not only return, but I will also come with the child. Ride. to understand India and make your choice. There will be questions to ask. I will answer. Happy rest everyone.

They asked us to settle on the second floor, for 20 dollars our request was granted and after 5 minutes our bag was already in room 403. We had a voucher for 15 nights and 14 days. At the very end of October, the hotel was almost empty. As you read on the net, the hotel is very good for its stardom. . The territory is clean, well-groomed, the rooms and furniture in them are not shabby. Advice for everyone is better to take a room on the second floor. Firstly, if one of the guests organizes a party, it will not be so heard, and secondly, there are snakes on the territory. During our stay, two neighbors saw in different places near the fence. Meals - breakfast is the same, including scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs, for dinner the choice was much larger. They weren't hungry. From excursions have chosen only - Temples and churches. Interesting. The rest of the excursions are very expensive. They are not worth it. Our guide was from the Kaper company, and you told her that everything is really expensive. You can ride with local firms or taxis. It will be much cheaper and better. We traveled to Margao and Cavelossim with a local taxi driver. His name is Santana. He still has a boat on the beach. You can go on a good fishing trip. It is better to go to the beach to the right of the hotel path. It's much cleaner there. We went several times to the village of Colva, this is to go to the left of Nanu, where the beach is terribly dirty. There are many fishing boats, rotten fish, crows, dogs, cows lying around.... Lots of locals. Sunbeds and we took a neck called Fisherman Cafe. This is where they dined. The manager there is a fat guy, his name is Joel, but I called him Jake. Good kind guy. Fish, well, whatever you want, you can order in advance. All seafood is brought to them in the morning, at 10 o'clock from the fish market in Margao. He always invited me and asked what kind of fish we want for dinner. Wives should not be allowed into the kitchen, otherwise the desire to eat can be lost. But they cook well. For two weeks we never had any problems with the stomach, however, just in case, we washed down everything with rum and beer. Lunch cost about 20-25 dollars. The local rum - Old Monk - is of good quality, dp and the price pleases _ 0.75 about a hundred rubles. There is practically no shopping, T-shirts with elephants are not *inserted*. In Colva, we found a shop with local handmade women's items. Can buy. The hotel has 90, no 98 percent Russian tourists, though at the reception with Russian is rather weak, and when you need to decide something specific, it's better to speak English. Our flight was delayed by 20 hours. The guide suggested after 11-30 (this is the check-out time) to take things to the reception and wait for the bus there, and it was necessary to wait about 7 hours. I agreed for $60 and we were in the room until the end. I heard that from one Turkish woman, who found herself in the same position, they asked for a hundred, and, poor she, took a shower near the pool. Like this, approximately. If anyone has any questions - ask. The only thing is that you don’t have to go there with children, it’s still very dirty, I mean on the beach. On the beach, keep an eye on your belongings, valuables and grandmas, it is better to deposit them in shek, where you take sunbeds. On the last day, a backpack with two iPhones and a camera was stolen from a couple from Moscow. grandmas and keys from the number. Yes, I completely forgot, the hotel does not provide towels for the beach, so take it with you or buy it on the spot. On the way from the hotel to the beach there is a shop where you can buy, well, or go to Colva. That's it. Good luck and have a good rest
