For the first time in Abkhazia
Once having visited Abkhazia, it is impossible not to fall in love with it. No wonder they say that on this holy land, any wish will come true.
We went to this wonderful country by train, having arrived in Adler, we didn’t have time to get off the train, when a smart taxi driver picked us up and, having collected 10 people, took us across the border. I took 500 rubles. per person, child free. There were no problems at the border, perhaps he has some connections there. On the way to the city of Gagra, we admired the amazing beauty of the local nature, the abundance of mountains. I must say right away that we saw quite a lot of abandoned beautiful buildings of Soviet and pre-Soviet construction. It is clear that local authorities spare money for restoration. And all income from tourism is deposited in the wallets of local residents, exempted from taxes.
The hostess prepared a room for us in advance: a 3-bed room with a view of Gagra for 1500 rubles. per day. To the sea on foot 15 min. True, the TV and air conditioning turned out to be faulty, I had to endure, as everything demanded money in advance. (Hint: check everything at once). She said that she would take the full cost for the damaged wallpaper and mattress, since we are with a child. We were not going to spoil anything, we did not conclude an agreement so that she would take it from us incomprehensibly. By the way, no one cleaned the room, bed linen was used for 2 weeks.
The beach is urban, the water in the sea is clean, the waves are big. Locals ride on a banana, a tablet, a parachute, a boat. True, they go to the area where everyone bathes, which is quite dangerous. They say there was a death.
Food in canteens and cafes is terrible. Of the advantages in canteens, it is cheaper, no one monitors freshness and hygiene, hence mass poisoning, especially children. We are still treating ours, diarrhea for 2 weeks. They drank only boiled and bottled water, constantly washed their hands, did not buy anything from the locals and did not save it. We argued with the owner of the cafe because of the sour mashed potatoes, he calmly argued and said bring whoever you want, everything is fine with me. Most of all I liked the cafe on the shore of the "Flamingo", everything is fresh. True, the prices are high and the portions are modest and the food is prepared for a long time.
I really liked the excursions to Lake Ritsa, the blue lake, waterfalls, New Athos. We went to Pitsunda on our own. There the beach is also clean and there are no waves at all. There are discos for the locals.
Disappointed by the lack of entertainment for young children, no amusement parks, trampolines, not even playgrounds. Maximum locomotives and cars on batteries and that's it.
The locals are also a peculiar people. For them, we are like a way of their existence and earnings. Since they came to their land, it means they have to pay for everything. Prices go up on everything every week. All medicines, products, hygiene products, fruits are imported and are expensive.
It is worth coming to this country and seeing all the splendor of their nature, plants, landscapes and not paying attention to the lack of service and the impudence of the Abkhazians. Otherwise, after some 10 years, all this will disappear from the face of the earth, because it is not valued and is not protected by its inhabitants.
