We rested in this hotel in November 2013, two women and a girl of 9 years old. It was my first time in the UAE, my girlfriend has been many times before, in other hotels.
In general, I had a great impression of the country and, let's say, not bad - about the hotel. I was unpleasantly surprised by some moments that, in my opinion, simply should not be in the Dubai "five". It all started with a settlement. Back in Kyiv, our operator requested the possibility of settling in a room for three people in three beds. Confirmation came, and nothing foreshadowed trouble. When we checked in, we got a room with a double bed and an extra folding bed. They moved to our demands, received an answer that there were no more free rooms at all, “come tomorrow”. For tomorrow we had a water park planned, it was a pity to sit in the hotel and wait for the relocation, so in the morning we told the reception a request that they themselves move the suitcases to the vacant room, and left for the whole day. We returned in the evening and found that now we live in another room, where there is still one double bed, and the third one is simply missing. The receptionist pretended for a long time that she didn’t understand what we wanted from her again, because “the number was changed for you. ” Then she dug into the computer and said that the number would be, but tomorrow. After this trial, bickering, calling the elder and cleaning the room that suddenly appeared took 4 hours. Late at night on the second day we finally got our room with three beds.
The hotel rooms are large, comfortable, clean and well soundproofed. Large bathroom, large balcony with sunbeds. The room has a minibar, ironing accessories, safe, hair dryer, TV, telephone. The air conditioner worked powerfully and silently. The room is big enough for three people not to push. The sockets are English, at the reception they give an adapter if you ask.

Evening candy on the pillow. For some reason, one for three and for some reason each time on a different bed. Cleaned often and thoroughly - plumbing sparkled, linen and towels smelled of freshness, it was nice to walk barefoot on a clean floor. The rooms have bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom is interestingly organized - first a large room with two washbasins and a bathtub, from which two glass doors lead to a shower and a toilet. The siphon was faulty in the bathroom, and it did not retain water, the glass wall between the shower and the toilet had a gap at the bottom through which, in a minute or two, ankle-deep water was collected in the toilet. A rather interesting engineering solution - a drain above the general floor level - also contributed to this. We left applications for eliminating the gap and repairing the siphon at the reception twice a day, but purely out of principle, we didn’t hope, and we were right - for a week no one thought to do something, they just sent a cleaner to wipe the flood more often and add towels with which we stuck the door to the room.
There were many channels on TV in a variety of languages, but there was no time to watch.
What I liked unconditionally is the beach. The hotel is located on the Palm, and I read in many reviews of different hotels that the water stagnates due to insufficient current, a lot of algae. Rixos is located on the very edge of Palma and the current is normal there. The water is clean and warm, the sand is white, fine, with a wonderful variety of shells. There are small places, there are deeper ones, everyone will find what they like best. The beach has lifeguards, inflatable bananas and boats, and catering. Sunbeds-umbrellas are new and clean, standard size. A lot of tourists rested near the pool, so the beach was always free and spacious. Tourists in the hotel are mainly from the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan.
Everywhere well-groomed lawns, flowers and palm trees, in general, a lot of greenery. There are small "tents" made of light fabric for a beach holiday, there are more with beds, hammocks.
Food. We took only breakfasts, always dined in the city, ordered lunch a couple of times. On the first day, we were served a large platter of Turkish grilled meats, which matched the description on the menu. The next day, the same dish was a third smaller and lacked lamb ribs. When asked why this was so, they received a phlegmatic answer, “well, it’s over. ” What about warning? What about the price? What about replacing it with something? After the question, they “gave” the cost of drinks.
Breakfast was good, standard - omelettes, muesli, fruits, yogurt. Nothing outstanding.
There is a free shuttle to the city from the hotel twice a day, convenient if you need to the Emirates Mall. You can also get into the city by taxi, the prices are quite humane, there are counters everywhere.
At the entrance to the hotel, a table is often laid with various sweets and dried fruits.

On the last day we checked out at 12, and the flight was in the evening. We were offered to use all day beach towels and the shower and relaxation room in the SPA for free. The SPA center is very impressive, the list of services too.
