In general, the proverb correctly says that "everything is known in comparison. " It was not the first time in the Emirates. Last year, I managed to relax in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah at about the same dates in the beautiful, magnificent Cove Rotana Resort hotel (the report is published on the same site).
Remembering last year, planning a short seven-day vacation, there was not even a shadow of a doubt where this very vacation can be obtained. BUT, the desire to go to Сove Rotana Resort has diverged from the pricing policy applied by the gentlemen and the UAE this year. Alas.
After much deliberation, a hotel was chosen instead, which is part of the same chain - Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa, located in the picturesque, as I was assured, the Emirate of Fujairah.

OPERATOR:
The tour was bought from us in Kyiv, from the operator News Travel.
According to reviews, it seems like a good operator. But some nuances of the organization of recreation frankly surprised.
First, the meeting.

We spent an hour and a half at the airport, waiting for some couple from Kyiv, who, as I understand it, never arrived, which, I believe, the operator should have somehow found out about. Not? I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. But all this time we stood on our feet, after a five-hour flight.
Then, for another 20 minutes, I had to wait for a bus, a la "Bogdan", manufactured by Monsieur Poroshenko's factory (the seats are soft - that's the difference! ).
The hotel guide appeared the next day, briefly brought up to date and was like that. The booklet handed to us contains information that the day before departure we will be sent a fax, which will tell us when and how to get to the airport, with more information on the departure. All this was not.
During the day, the guy from the hotel called (fortunately, I’m at least a little “drag” in English), asked if we were really going to go home in the near future, asked me about the return flight, calculating out loud the approximate time for the return trip, and asked me not to be stupid on the day of departure and be on time at the reception.
Well, in the end, we were driven back by a minibus from the hotel, with a silent local swarthy fellow, without any accompaniment from the tour operator in principle, which is somewhat unusual. In general, everything hints at the extreme budget of the rest, and some uselessness of tourists after paying for the tour.
At the same time, dear guests from one of the European countries, in addition to being met with juices and water, which we did not have, were also taken to the airport with the help of a guide and a couple of accompanying persons.
No, we are not proud people. We would have arrived ourselves, but what would the driver guy do if "God forbid that. " I don't want to fantasize.
I just think that the function of the tour operator is not just to collect money for the tour, but provides for some kind of support for it. And given the cost of the trip and its purpose - rest, I want some kind of appropriate relationship.

HOTEL:
Good. True, good. But without frills (again, I compare it with last year's Сove Rotana Resort, which is simply gorgeous).

Internet, including Wi-Fi, is paid. Something around 70. e. in one hour. You can order at least half an hour. Like, rest, dear guests, and if you don’t want to rest, then pay denyuzhka.
The room (we lived near the beach, in a room with a terrace) is good, there is nothing to say. The area is not tiny, but not big either. You can walk around the whole place in 10-15 minutes. Everything is clean and nice.
Liked the service. Cleaned well, the staff is unobtrusive, albeit cunning.
As in the past year, handing over the keys before leaving, the bill showed "extra" 50 bucks of commercials, for the delicacies allegedly eaten from the minibar.
The debt immediately disappeared, after an angry remark, without scandal.
A minibar is paid and expensive. On arrival it is locked, and thank God. It seems to me that there is nothing to take from him.
Water "on the ball" put two small bottles a day. The rest "for expensive" (or for a gas station : )) They also offer tea and coffee for free.
The room has a kettle, iron, hair dryer and washboard.
Safe is free. They didn't ask for any security deposit, and we didn't pay.
The food is modest, but they won't let you die of hunger. A little monotonous, but very edible. There is some meat. Sometimes there was something like seafood. There are no frets. Trouble with fruits (small and not very tasty). For dinner, all drinks, including water for money (water, at a price of 1.7 dirhams at a gas station, starts from 17 dirhams, at a rate of 3.6 dirhams for 1 dollar). Alcohol, of course, is even more expensive.
There were no queues.
Speaking of food. We ordered breakfast and dinner. And frankly, that's more than enough.
In the afternoon, if you wish, you can have a snack with a fresh, tasty and inexpensive sandwich from the gas station, which is located across the street from the hotel, or take a ride to some cafe. We were too lazy to look, we chose the advertised "Golden Fork" in the village of Karfakan, and were satisfied.

Driving through local supermarkets is a pointless exercise. Once got out, to understand the situation, and was disappointed. There is nothing to do there. Things are the same as ours, only more expensive. Technology is much more expensive.
The only thing left is the beach.

BEACH:
Posh. You can always find a free sunbed, very clean. A lifeguard sits in a special booth, vigilantly watching the swimmers, giving them napkins with solvent ...Oh, yes, I almost forgot, the whole beach is littered with small black beads of oil, which, when in contact with your foot, turn into an ugly black, greasy spot.
It is washed off either with a solvent from the rescuers, or with a remover for nail polish (here the wife came in handy : ))
The Gulf of Oman is wonderful. Deep, warm and pleasant. True, local oil tycoons managed to annoy a little. Two of the seven days spent at the hotel, access to the water was not recommended, because a huge oil stain formed on the entire coast. Yes, production costs.
Attempts to pass this time in the pool led to skin allergies. That's what the habit of "normal" chlorinated water does.
By the way, I didn't like the pool. Fine and the smell is not ours. Not CIS.
Returning to the story about the bay, I want to clarify another interesting topic - jellyfish. Oh, and my wife and I have been reading about the dominance of siphonophores (a small, terribly biting crap) and ordinary evil jellyfish.
So, for all the time spent in the water, I saw three jellyfish. Small ones, blue, nasty. No one bit me, and in general, no one was bitten.
They know that to hell with them to remake ours : ))

FUN:
During the day, animator girls run around offering different games, aerobics and more. In the evening - silence and tranquility. Full relax. My wife and I were happy. This was a mandatory condition for the rest, and we are very glad that the condition was met.
Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about children’s entertainment, because we went without children. There is some kind of kids club and an hourly babysitter, but what and how it works - without the slightest idea.

CONTINGENT:

Rousseau tourists - there were few. Ukrainians - a little. Mostly Czechs, a little bit of Germans (surprisingly, but true), and guys from some Arab countries.
In general, everything is pretty decent and not bad.
I can't help but compare it with the Сove Rotana Resort that I liked last year. Many locals rested there, arriving in luxury cars, with harems and a bunch of suitcases, which, it seems to me, once again speaks in favor of Сove Rotana.
Under them, everything was oriented: rooms, chic food, service. Hmm, it was great ...Sorry, I digress.

TOTAL:
The hotel is not bad, but I would not give it 5 stars. In the UAE they are able to provide better conditions for recreation, which, to my great joy, I had the opportunity to verify.
But in principle, as a short spring break for our fellow citizens, tired of the long winter and beriberi mood, it will go very well.
There are no obvious minuses and shortcomings that would cause disgust and indignation from being in a hotel. No one has ever been rude, nothing has been stolen, nothing has been poisoned. In general, we were satisfied. And if it was possible to extend the stay, they would do it with pleasure. But if we were richer, then ....However, this is a completely different story.
