We rested in Albena at the Arabela Beach Hotel in July 2008 (tour operator "Orient"). We arrived in Varna at 10. We were at the hotel at about 11 o'clock. Check-in to the room is made after 14 o'clock. They provided luggage space. The orientation of the rooms in the hotel and the sea and the park ("Orient" did not specify in advance, the price is the same). On the second floor there are three small rooms without a balcony. Three of us (2 adults + 1 child 10 years old) were placed in one of these rooms. After a little indignation, they promised to relocate as soon as there were free rooms. (The room was booked at Orient in May). A day later they moved to the fifth floor. Normal, standard room with a nice view. This view also included the Arabela bar, which does not belong to the hotel. The bar did not spoil the view. But on weekends, obviously, the Bulgarians rested there (there are enough of them, like the Romanians in the resort; there are few Germans, unlike the "Sunny Day", there are Scandinavians). So we somehow listened to the rhythms of the Bulgarian stage until one in the morning. Tired. Closed windows did not help, while the room became stuffy, and the old-style air conditioner was noisy. Went down to reception. The nice young man explained that the bar should shut up after 24.00, but it doesn't shut up and that a little later he will call the police, usually this helps every three or four times. Really helped. After 3:00 the music stopped. During this time, all the neighbors went to the reception. The hotel is designed for families with children, so everyone has the same problems.
There are no beach towels in the hotel (We didn’t encounter this before, I had to buy it). There are two towels per person in the room. They change every other day, if you remind, but they forget. The balcony was never cleaned. The floor in the room is uncoated tiles, it is cool for a child to be barefoot.
The food is very, very good. There is a children's table. But coffee only from the machine. Normal on the nearby beach at the bar.

The beach is clean enough, cleaned every morning (tractor "Belarus"), but cigarette butts come across. The sea is shallow - it is convenient for children. On the weekends, people increase significantly. By the Bulgarians. The hotel staff speaks Russian, but not all. There is English, German.
The territory of the Albena resort is green, many flowers, diverse vegetation, it is interesting to walk. Clean only on the tracks a little to the side - garbage. Trains travel around the resort (price 2.5 levs) very conveniently, you can use a horse-drawn carriage, bicycles, etc. There are tennis courts.
Children's entertainment is like everywhere else: trampolines, carousels, mini golf, etc. There is no animation at the hotel, it seems that it has its own playground too (my child was not very interested in this), but there are computer games.
This year Orient's departure was organized very "successfully" with "TRANSAERO". When we flew to Bulgaria, we spent an hour on the plane at Sheremetyevo. The return journey exceeded all expectations. Instead of a paid day, a not quite edible dry ration for breakfast (thanks to Orient), and departure from the hotel at 6.30. Two hours before registration. All were registered. Boeing aircraft. There are 400 people. Most of the children are from holiday camps. Then they announced that the flight was delayed for technical reasons. Departure at 9.20, departed at 16.50. Well, the weather was cool that day. Lucky.
