We rested in Bulgaria with my 15-year-old son for the first time. We chose Bulgaria for two reasons: 1 - affordable price in high season, 2 - shopping. Let's start with the resort itself. The place is very beautiful, really a park area, pines, trees, flowering shrubs, well-groomed territory. Vacationers are mostly couples, many children, by the way, there are many children's sanatoriums. Vacationers - Russians, Germans, Romanians, in general, I did not have the feeling that this was a foreign country, all around were Russian speakers. Hotel. I don’t know what coastline it is, but it’s 500 meters to the beach, it’s not hard to walk, but it’s better to live on the very shore and dine overlooking the sea. The hotel corresponds to 3, but no more. The rooms are renovated, there is everything you need, but a refrigerator, a safe, an iron - for a fee. Garbage is thrown out every day, the floors in the shower were not washed even once, the linen was changed the day before departure, the towels went and asked me to change it myself. The carpet was laid, the damp smell was unpleasant, our windows overlooked the park on the shady side, everything dried badly. By the way, it is better to take a room not on the 1st floor. The staff is friendly, it is not clear how well they know Russian, but when necessary, they pretend that they do not know. Free internet in the lobby. The food is not bad. But tea is not allowed for dinner, only for money. It is better to take a boiler. The cooler is also closed. The beaches are sandy, seaweed near the shore. The hotel does not have its own beach, so you have to look for where it is convenient, the sunbeds are paid for 5 levs, the sunbeds by the pool are also paid for 5 levs, I generally encountered this for the first time. In a cafe, eating is not very cheap, as some write, and the portions are modest. The hotel guide offers excursions, the price is too high, on the shopping alley you can buy more interesting and cheaper by an order of magnitude. In general, the Bulgarians make money on everything. Shopping: we were in Varna, it’s certainly cheaper there, but not enough to go there for things, the same sheepskin coats cost 20-30 thousand, maybe people know other places and buy everything cheap, I didn’t find this. What is cheap is fruits on the market, peaches, nectarines for 20 rubles or less, very sweet oranges and tomatoes, we don’t have them anywhere else. Cheap holidays are obtained for the Germans, there are a lot of them, 1 lev is 2 times cheaper than the euro, for people who have a salary of up to 20 thousand, this is noticeable. Yes, there are no activities for children in the hotel, so my child was very bored. In general, we had a good rest, but we will not go to this hotel again.
