We stayed in this hotel with our 10 year old daughter for 8 days. I must say right away that it is difficult to endure more days in this hotel, and the point is not in the rooms (they correspond to stardom), but in the fact that guest workers and students live in this hotel, who do not have money for entertainment outside the hotel, and they drink all night long on baokons, and then bringing the degree to the desired level, they yell, beat bottles, etc. … More ▾ We stayed in this hotel with our 10 year old daughter for 8 days. The room is clean, cleaning 2 times a week, we were a week, the linen was not changed for us. The hotel has two buildings, one is more "cool"))) the rooms have TV, and there is an elevator in the building. Safes near the reception for extra. fee. Wi Fi - there is, but at the reception they say that it is not there, Russian is poorly understood, English is normal. Nutrition - breakfasts are very monotonous, all week it was like a blueprint - croutons, sausage. cheese, cheese, croissants, scrambled eggs, pasta, + bread. jam, butter. You will not be hungry, but the assortment is the same, we barely survived a week, the staff in the retoran does not understand Russian. and on the faces of the waitresses it is written "how you got us. " "There are many of you, but I am alone". In general, the Balkan is a student hostel) If the goal is to relax on a budget and you sleep soundly, you can try.

The staff is responsive (mostly young guys, except for cleaners) but a little lazy or slow or something. . . we still don’t understand, cleaning is every day from 9.00, but if you are in the room at that time, they won’t clean it and, in fact, on the same day later, the cleaner won’t come, like everything has its time)) There is a pool, they cleaned every day, but in my opinion, the pool is small. . . although what to complain about if the hotel is 2 stars)) During the day it is quite possible to sit at the bass, but in the evening.... this is something! a group of young Poles lived in the hotel, they arranged such a farce there that the Russian youth just nervously smoked on the sidelines) horror! but in general, no one bothered anyone) we still had breakfast included, well, not very and generally most often we overslept breakfast) so probably my opinion on this matter is not quite complete) the Balkan hotel is a youth hotel, you can’t fill up with a family there, as it will frankly suck) if I liked Bulgaria, I would go to the Balkan hotel again ))))

The hotel leaves much to be desired. The building of the hotel took place apparently in the years of the 50s of that century, since then nothing has changed.... This hotel is distinguished primarily by the fact that one with such large wall openings in the corridor in Sunny Beach. There is no elevator, it's good that the guide was understanding, he helped to drag the bags up the stairs to the third floor. We arrived at night - there was no light on the flight of stairs on any floor, while drunken New Zealanders were dragging everywhere, yelling, celebrating the last day before leaving. At the reception, the girl not only does not understand anything in Russian and does not even try to understand, but she did not manage to explain anything in English. We arrived at night, we didn’t have time to change money, so we went to the bar on the ground floor to buy a drink. The bartender agreed to sell us drinks at a very frantic rate. Everything in the room is old, the pillows are oak, the blankets are prickly, the TV catches 2 channels, on the balcony all the paint peeled off from the railing, you can’t get close to the pool, very, very dirty, this year no one washed it for sure. Bed linen is changed every three days : ). The door to the shower / toilet is located at a level of 30-40cm from the floor. Who needs such a big hole at the bottom is not clear. In principle, the food was not bad, despite the fact that the canteen of Savdepov's times : ) pasta, sausages, tomatoes, cucumbers, even watermelon (after that we were in two more hotels, and nowhere was watermelon served for breakfast), tea (like ours May), coffee, instant drinks such as UPI or invite. About three hundred meters to the sea. The sea is quite cold, the waves are big. You can’t buy one sunbed, you can only take a set of 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for about 60 rubles. (for Bulgaria it is a little expensive). The beach is clean, sandy, there are bars, cafes. There are no complaints about him. To purchase SIM cards, you need to go to the beginning of Sunny Beach, to the mountains, where there are salons of mobile operators. Moreover, only Vivacom works on weekends.

I'll start from the very beginning. We left Kyiv by bus at 7.00. We had the last places - 53.54, at first we were very upset, but then we realized that we were the most lucky, we lay all the way in the last five places and slept. At 17.00 we were at the customs Ukraine - Romania, we stood for 3.5 hours. At 6.00 in the morning we were at the border of Romania - Bulgaria, we stayed here for 2.5 hours. At 11.00 we were in Sunny Beach. We were promised, and absolutely everyone who was traveling with us, that they would drop off near the Balkan hotel, and then who went where, but it was completely different, we were all dropped off at the bus stop and the agents sorted out all the tourists and took them to the hotels. exactly at 12 we were at the hotel. Literally in 15 min. we were given a number. No. 413. When we entered the room, we were a little shocked (photo attached), we did not expect such "modesty": the walls are white ceilings, as on the facade, a table, a chair and a cabinet. There are 2 plastic chairs on the balcony. Very empty and not comfortable. In general, we arrived at the sea, and it did not disappoint us, but we were so measured with an overnight stay. All that was cleaned in the room is garbage and towels, and then they need to be thrown on the floor otherwise they won’t change. As for the beach, the sea is clean, and the sand is all polluted with cigarette butts. A deck chair costs 8lev (40 UAH) per day. But we didn’t lie down and swam in the sea. And so people take towels and umbrellas with them and lie a little further behind the rows of sun loungers.
as for the food at the hotel, it is monotonous and there is one shift there, lazy as sleepy flies. The menu is the same: scrambled eggs, pasta, croutons, 3 types of sausage, ham, cucumbers, tomatoes, 3 types of croissants, peaches or plums or watermelon. Powdered juice, coffee and tea. Well, in principle, it was enough to kill hunger. (We only went for breakfast alone and it's very good. )
In the city, a lot of entertainment, food in restaurants is really cheap and huge portions, we found one cozy restaurant "Troya" and almost always went there. And really reading the reviews of previous tourists, the further inland from the beach, the cheaper.
I flew on a parachute - 50 lev (250 UAH), on a scooter 40 lev (200 UAH) and ride for half an hour.
As for the way back, after it we decided we would never go anywhere else by bus, it was the first and last time. So. At 12.00 we were asked to vacate the room, until 15.30 we were sitting in the hotel lobby, my husband was still swimming in the cold pool, and exactly at 15.30 they came for us by car, took another couple, brought us back to the place where they dropped off, and left at 17.30 . At 21.00 we were at the border between Bulgaria and Romania. At 22:20 we set off again. By the way, on this border there was an embarrassment with one family, so you know what happens. They stood aside from the bus like everyone else, and suddenly their bus leaves the queue and goes, the man ran after him and started banging on the driver’s door, zero reaction, the bus goes on, he and his wife and son run and shout after him, and he picks up speed and leaves. Then the man asked to get on the next departing bus, but they didn’t want to take him, then the whole family went to the border guards, they walked along the border for a long time, what and how further we don’t know. everyone giggled, but after not a single bus took the family, they began to stomp right next to their buses. That's it.
But an adventure happened to us too, at 9.15 we arrived at the Romanian-Ukrainian border and then we were dumbfounded that the bus of the DORIS company, which we were traveling back and forth, did not go further, they say their license is expired and the Ukrainians do not want to let them in. We were dropped off the bus, everyone is in shock, dragging their trunks across the border on foot, swearing loudly and yelling. At 12.30 we were picked up by a Ukrainian wreck, which broke down 3 times in 4 hours, but we didn’t get out like everyone else in Kyiv, but in Kamenetz-Podolsky, and people envied us, because the drive from the border to Kamenets was 1.5 hours and we drove 4.5 then I can imagine what time they were in Kyiv. That's how it was taken by NEWS Travel.
And in general, Bulgaria is 10 times better and cheaper than Crimea, but it still has room to grow.

Yes, 30 hours, but 5 of them were spent on the Ukraine-Romania border and only 2.5 on Romania-Bulgaria. The bus delivered directly to the hotel. They settled us within 8-10 minutes. The windows overlooking the pool did not interfere with us at all, the room was simple but well maintained, towels and other things were changed often. There were no problems with hot water either! I liked the breakfast for the first day or two, then became boring. but very good ones. there were always fresh croissants, cereal, muesli, watermelon. Bad sausage, well, so it's soy everywhere. Prrugi were in 4 stars Seagull-spitting from her. We ate in cafes. The portions are really huge. They took everything for 2x. Shopska slat was often eaten, chicken soup (pileshko soup) was taken daily (2.5-4.5 leva), garlic cake was liked in the cafe opposite the Chaika Beach hotel. in the bistro by the beach they took only a baked potato with a bunch of salads for 6 lev and tried ice cream in a cone with Raffaello and Snickers flavors))). We tried tsatsu (fried sprat) in the restaurant at the Atol hotel (behind the Kuban hotel). 3.5 leva for a huge plate. Pts. delicious also fried horse mackerels! In one cafe, when for the first time they warmly thanked the waiter, the weight was very good. tasty they brought us stacks of amaretto liqueur. Began to go there more often, and every time we were treated to amaretto! A trifle, but nice. Disco Orange is one of the most expensive - 15 lev, but our German neighbors took us there as their own, because their ticket included free admission there. Pts. great chili sauce! served everywhere! I brought home a couple of cans. Cheap shoes. I bought ankle boots for 15 euros! rest is sufficient. I left a total of 205 euros in Bulgaria. at the same time, she did not deny herself something and also visited the water park in Nessebar.

We passed all customs and borders normally, the road is of course difficult 18 hours on the bus is difficult and it’s almost impossible to sleep all night because there are borders all the time. In short, they arrived at Sunny Beach, drove us to a hotel without a name, nowhere does it say that this is a Balkan hotel, they settled us right away. We were given a room for 3 adults about 2.5 by 3.5 m in size, a toilet with a shower together, no cubicle, when we washed everything around it was wet. There are no chairs in the room, only a small table, there is nothing on the balcony, not even clotheslines for drying. Refrigerator, air conditioner and TV in the room, too. Everything can be rented, but it's not cheap (((We were so tired while driving and were happy that we took a horizontal position. Having rested, we decided to go for a walk, met the cleaner and asked to bring 3 chairs, brought 2.... went for a walk here I can’t say anything bad, everything sparkles, music is thundering everywhere in every way and taste. There is a lot of interesting things along the sea, there is a lot of interesting things, you can eat for every taste and budget. I must say right away that they cook very tasty and the portions are large, so you can take one for two. . . ))) Having worked up, we came to the room and then it was the most interesting, partying, screaming, walking and trampling all night, while both ours and not ours , the hotel turned out to be a passage courtyard, it doesn’t close at all, music rumbles from everywhere all night until 5 in the morning, so it’s almost impossible to sleep, and it’s impossible to sleep. Euro windows do not help, I say do not hope right away. The doors are thin plywood, and most of the doors have holes, and these holes are sealed with self-adhesive tape that is very easy to pierce with a finger. Morning came and we went for breakfast, it's a separate circus, someone wrote that it's gluttonous, it's funny for me to read, so it costs 3 plates of about 20 pieces each - 1) boiled sausage, 2) sausage with olives and peppers, 3) with brynza - a maximum of this is enough for 3 people, the rest are like in a dining room for beggars with outstretched plates and waiting for the next portion, it was a couple of times that again, if there was not enough, then people almost fought for food, it's just a nightmare. Coffee slop, glasses and mugs (which were missing all the time) are dirty, they are immediately wiped with a dirty rag in front of you. Water like sweet yupi is so diluted that there is no taste. It often happened that food peddlers came out and said that everything was gone and today it wouldn’t be, and people, indignant, left hungry. The food is like in the worst Soviet canteen, and then I think that it would be even better to feed it. The staff are like dead flies, the tables are dirty. . . brrrrr, flies fly and crawl on plates and food, in short a nightmare. The pool is small and dirty, there are very few sunbeds and those are broken, and those that are not broken are occupied, empty bottles are lying around the sunbeds that are simply not removed from morning until the next morning. There is no Wi-Fi, there are three computers that cost 1 lev-10 minutes and then terrible brakes and it is not clear which letter corresponds to which language, the letters do not match. The rooms are cleaned very badly, when 8 days of our vacation have already passed, I asked to change the towels, so they told me that it was too early, after a not very pleasant conversation, they changed it with a creak. And I’m generally silent about toilet paper, it’s good that we took it with us, we didn’t give soap at all. . . ))) And now about the rest, it's better to keep euros and change them in banks; the highest rate was in alphabank, everywhere it's small and not always true. Tours walk along the main street, first look at Turkey 109 lev, but there are also 99 lev, so look for cheaper. It’s better to go for one day and to be honest, don’t take a tour of the Bosphorus, it costs 25 euros and to be honest, there’s nothing to see there, it’s much more interesting to walk around and walk around. For citizens of Ukraine, a visa costs 30 dollars, and for all other countries it is free. . . )))) It is better to go to Sozopol, Varna and Nessebar on your own because excursions are a little expensive, but to be honest, there’s not much to see there, only if in order to go shopping and in the shops everything is the same and the prices do not differ much from each other. In Varna, I advise you not to go to the dolphinarium, the performance is not interesting and it is not cheap, you are not allowed to take pictures with dolphins, their pool is small, they scream like crazy from hunger and do not always want to follow commands, we were disappointed. We went to the Bulgarian village, I really liked it, it was fun and interesting. Bulgaria is beautiful, the rest is good, but the whole mood was spoiled by the return to the hotel, it's just a nightmare (((Three days before departure, I approached the representative of Almatur, he told me the wrong departure time, when they brought everyone who was going to Ukraine to the collection point, so there was no bus it turned out that we sat outside for another 3 hours, in the heat, waiting for him. Almatur's organization is very bad, the representatives are not attentive, we are extremely dissatisfied with their work.... What can I conclude from our holiday, everything is fine in Bulgaria, the sea, the sun, the rest.... but just DO NOT GO TO THE BALKAN HOTEL. . . ((( Have a good rest everyone. . . ))))
