Great resort
This summer we went to Sunny Beach for the second time. It stands out from the rest of the resorts in that it consists entirely of hotels, hotels and entertainment venues. All areas and buildings are very beautiful.
The first time we traveled as a group from Kyiv, first a night by bus, then half a day by boat along the Danube, then again by bus. The trip turned out to be difficult, so I do not recommend it to anyone. The second time we went by car through Romania (Kyiv-Odessa-Belgorod Dnestrovsky-Reni-Romania-Bulgaria), this option is quite acceptable, since you can stop whenever you want, spend the night, see a sight, for example, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky fortress. After B-D, the road becomes bad all the way to Reni, so you have to go there when it's light. As soon as you cross the Romanian border you feel the difference, the road is as smooth as butter. There is also an autobahn, but go along it for 50-60 km, and then again the usual road. Bulgarian roads are also normal. In general, the road took us 2 days (with an overnight stay)
The resort itself is quite large and is located, as it were, in a bay - on one side of the mountain, on the other - Nessebar. A wide embankment stretches along the entire coast, right up to Nessebar, about 10 km. The view from the middle of the beach is just amazing! Therefore, we chose hotels in the city center area. Again, there is the greatest concentration of entertainment. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes of different directions, it’s just not enough strength to get around everything. Throughout the resort there are a lot of shops with clothes and all sorts of souvenirs, tattoo parlors are also very popular there. But there are bazaars, they do not compare with our markets, they are so neat there. On them you can find folk products made from rose oil and ceramics. Tents with clothes, bags, toys, silver also stretch along the embankment, all this is diluted with clubs, restaurants, fast food, kiosks with telephones, and transport rental points.
By cost: a T-shirt can be bought for 10-15 levs, a healthy piece of pizza 4 levs, silver rings 10-30 levs (at that time 1 lev = 3 UAH)
You can move around the resort on local electric trains, horse-drawn carts, scooters, bikes and, just a bomb, golf carts. All of this runs on electricity, so the air is fresh almost everywhere. Rollers, cars can be rented, 15 and 20 leva per hour. You do not need to leave anything as a deposit, you will only be asked for the name of the hotel and the number. This gullibility is so striking and pleasantly pleasing. We somehow forgot a beach bag in one of the cars, so when we ran back for her, the guy from the rental got on his scooter to take her to our hotel.
Reviews about hotels can be found on the pages of hotels, so I'll write about the beach.
The beach is awesome!! ! Sandy, long, wide. There are sunbeds and umbrellas in the sections, so you will not be breathing in the back of some kind of neighbor. True, renting an umbrella and a sun lounger for the day is 16 leva. You can easily sunbathe in the morning, leave your towel on the sunbed and go for lunch, when you return it will be in place. You don’t have to run anywhere to pay for sunbeds, the guy from the beach service will come to you when you get settled.
The sea is also cool, the bottom gradually goes into depth, so the children will be delighted. I didn't see any algae or debris. If the sea begins to storm, then lifeguards will not let you swim far, they sit along the coast every 500-700 m.
If you get tired of sunbathing for days and walking along the embankment in the evenings, you can take a walk to Nessebar, or you can take a bus in 7-10 minutes. The place is simply amazing - it is a peninsula that goes out to the sea, and on it is an old Greek town. Cobbled streets, no more than 4 meters wide (and in some places even 2), Small houses, half stone, half wooden, flowers on each balcony, ancient ruins in the city center, a bay with white yachts, in general, beyond words. There are also a lot of cafes and restaurants, and I especially remember one place. In my opinion, to the right of the Prague restaurant with a chapel, on one street there is an inconspicuous door that leads to a bar. This bar is made in the style of a cave, huge stalactites hang from the walls, instead of tables there are blocks of stone, instead of chairs there are recesses in the wall or pieces of logs, the zones with tables are at different levels in such gazebos for 3-4 people and in order to climb, you need to walk along the stone stairs, on which the roots of trees wind and springs flow, and in the center of the hall there is a waterfall. Wow, I want to go there now and immediately!! ! You can’t take pictures there, so the impressions are only in words. In other restaurants, the most popular dish is fish, as the town is a fishing town.
You can have breakfast at the hotel, go to Nessebar for lunch, and have dinner somewhere on the waterfront, or vice versa : )
On the way to Nessebar there is a Greek restaurant, on the left side on the bridge, the interior there is of course cool, you sit as if above the sea, but the prices are outrageous - we ate 3 fish, vegetables, olives, drank 0.5 of wine and paid almost 100 euros. So I do not advise.
There are a lot of offers for excursions in Sunny Beach, you can choose both at the hotel and on the embankment, there is almost no difference. We stopped on a boat trip on a yacht - about 60 lev per person for half a day with lunch. We didn't regret it, it was great. In the morning we were brought to a yacht, such as they show in the movies, for 8 people, and we sailed towards Burgas along the coast. Words cannot convey this - the turquoise sea, blue sky, white houses along the coast, the wind in the face, beauty-ah-ah-ah! After an hour of sailing, we were offered to swim in the open sea. The water is very clear, 3-4 meters deep, but there were a lot of jellyfish : ( Then we moored to a special parade ground, 4 meters from the shore. There, our captain and assistant set about cooking grilled fish, and we got drunk on beer (it included in the price) started to dive from the pier, others tried to fish. After a delicious lunch, we lounged a bit more and sailed back. On the way back, the captain unraveled the sail and we rushed, catching a good wind.
On such trips, be sure to stock up on sunscreen and long sleeves, as you burn out in 5 minutes.
There were also offered excursions on ATVs, trips to the dolphinarium, a visit to the Bulgarian village with performances, in general, you will not get bored.
Of course, there are some negative moments, there are rude waiters, rather even passive ones, but these moments are so few that I don’t remember them. Therefore, to go to Sunny Beach, definitely!
