About nutrition: as far as I understand, "Egg" breakfasts are everywhere, overeat with omelettes (and olives mmm). Lunches are dense, dinners are even denser. They had never eaten fish and pork at the same time before, but here they had to simply because they cooked very tasty. Well, fries - no McDonald's was needed for the children - everything was in place, including ice cream (usually 3 different boxes were opened). Of the fruits, there were peaches, nectarines, apples, pears once, watermelon every day.
The staff is all polite, the maid is just a darling, she cleaned very well. Bartenders pour any whim. Jordan lobby bar is great! The formidable savior by the pool does not let the children get mad in the water, an attempt to jump off the side is stopped in the bud.
For smokers: smoking is prohibited in the rooms, in the lobby, in the restaurant closed. On the balcony and throughout the territory, you can.
Wi-fi was everywhere except the balcony, but 3 chains of neighboring hotels were available on the balcony. At the reception they answer any questions, the money was changed from them. The euro exchange rate is 1.9.
On the floor there is an ironing board, an iron free of charge at the reception. You can't take towels out of the rooms!
Walked to the water park. From 16:00, adults 24 leva, children 12.2. 5 hours was enough for us.
Sorry, it's a bit confusing, if you have any questions I'll try to answer.
From Varna airport delivered to the hotel around 9-10 in the morning - could not settle immediately. But they didn't really count on it.
The room was on the 7th floor. Every day 4 floors on foot, then on the elevator - but it did not bother. The room has a balcony overlooking the hotel garden and a side view of the sea - very much even nothing, except that almost nothing separated from the balconies of neighboring rooms. On the balcony there is a stool and 2 plastic chairs, a dryer. In the room - all of the declared. Purely. But! There is practically no soundproofing with one of the neighboring rooms. We didn’t have to listen - even with the TV turned on relatively loudly, we heard the neighbors (what can we say in silence at 7 in the morning - when we so wanted to calmly soak up the bed, but we had to listen to the news and their discussion from the neighbor).
We only had breakfast. We (two friends) were fine. It was almost impossible not to overeat.
There is a small pool nearby - but it has such smelly water (chlorine or the like) that we only swam there once and sunbathed a couple of times.
The location of the hotel is good - a bit away from the hustle and bustle, but close to the sea.
We went mainly to the Riviera beach (although from the third day they refused to let us in through the entrance of the hotel for free (we had to pay at the entrance for the sunbeds), but we made a circle and went to the beach from the free side)) and paid directly to the boy on the beach who did us a discount all 7 days of rest.
In general, after Montenegro, Bulgaria seemed boring to me. Breakfast - beach - lunch - beach - evening at a bar or at a disco. And so every day. Yes - the beach is great, the weather is wonderful, the air is clean. Really relaxed. But on the fourth day I wanted to howl. An independent trip to the Eladzha Monastery was a breath of fresh air, reminiscent of walking around Budva and its environs. There are only a few interesting places for excursions from the resort. If it were not for the trip to Istanbul, it would be quite sad. Went for 1 day. I don't regret it. The bus is good - the trip did not tire me much, but I got a lot of impressions. We also went to Cape Kaliakra and the Botanical Garden of Balchik. I liked the cape. The garden is normal. Yes, and it was very hot, that there was only one desire - faster in an air-conditioned bus.
Golden Sands is a German resort. The Germans are all around. Rude, boorish, they start the conversation with “Are you from Germany? ” and if the answer is "No", then you can not hear anything else in response)))
In general: I arrived, I rested, I forgot - Bulgaria left such a mark in my heart.
Travel agency: we flew from TUI, no complaints, they buy the plane completely (ATTENTION: luggage is not more than 15 kg, we sat on the 2nd), the flight was in the morning (the day of arrival was completely ours), upon arrival they meet and are already transported by bus to hotels (from Varna to Golden Sands it takes about 30 minutes), the guide almost every day at the hotel at a certain time, she also has the opportunity to change money at the bank rate, the guide also gives free tickets (as much as you like) to the Arrogance club (about see below), as well as a 10% discount in 2 cafes.
About the hotel: clean, apparently it was recently renovated, they settled immediately upon arrival, the staff is friendly, understands Russian well, sometimes they said hello several times a day, any request was fulfilled as far as possible (they weighed my luggage on the scales in the kitchen without any problems, the bartender gladly helped to open the wine and even provided glasses), we had room 910 with a sea view, they helped to carry the suitcases (on the day of departure they dragged it on their own from the 4th floor, so this hotel lacks special rails like in pedestrian crossings (!!!
)), the room is excellent, everything you need to eat (wardrobe, 2 beds, a table with a mirror, 2 bedside tables, 2 glasses, a TV (they turned on 1 time for the whole time), a refrigerator and a telephone (didn’t use at all), air conditioning (turned on when left the room, worked perfectly), on the balcony: a plastic table, 2 chairs, a dryer), they brought a hairdryer and an iron with them (you could rent it at the reception (like for free)), there was an ironing board in the hall (very convenient, no need to look for anyone from the staff), at first glance the bathroom was embarrassing (no pallet), then we came to the conclusion that it was very convenient, no cockroaches were found, there were no particularly partitions on the balcony, but this did not bother us, we periodically talked with neighbors and they shared their impressions, when they left they closed the balcony and curtained the windows, they didn’t remove the safe (all valuables were put in a suitcase under lock and key), they cleaned every day (they were never present during cleaning), linen and towels were changed every 3 days (a sign hangs above the toilet to change towels if you are not satisfied the change takes place every 3 days, then throwing towels on the floor, they will be replaced), the beds are comfortable (we slept well), the soundproofing let us down a little (it didn’t really bother us, apparently we were lucky with the neighbors), the sun was on our side only in the first half of the day , which allowed me to sit quietly on the balcony during the day during the harmful sun, there were 3 sockets, wi-fi in the room worked intermittently at times (I didn’t catch it on the balcony at all)
. The hotel is family run, there were no drunken Germans, many Russians, there weren’t many young people (for all the time there were 10 people), for us these factors were very positive. Close enough to the sea (line 2), never swam in the pool, there is a mini market on the ground floor.
The sea and the beach: the road is monotonous (coniferous trees around, you don’t even notice the path, 5-7 minutes), we all the time lay on the free beach (left the hotel to the right, reached the stop and left in a straight line), of course there are a lot of people, but there has never been that we could not lie down (! ), the sea for me at the beginning was cool (19-21 degrees, then whoever likes it, then 22-23 degrees), towards the end of the vacation, the sea began to worry and algae appeared, but you could go a little farther and it was clean.
Food: at the hotel we had breakfast (sausage (soy), ham (more or less), cheese, pieces of cheese, rolls with cheese and spinach, sausages (it is not possible to eat at all), cereals, chopped vegetables, buns with sugar, cereal , milk (diluted with water), chocolate paste, you could make toast, bread rolls, tea (herbal), coffee, cocoa and chocolate from the coffee machine) and dinner (ice cream, watermelon, cookies, Greek salad, chicken, pork, fish, french fries, cutlets (only spices), fried boiled potatoes, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, soup, stew, rice, mashed potatoes, chopped vegetables, olives, puddings, canned peaches, drinks: water, UPI orange and apple). In the end, I got fed up with food, yes, the variety is not great, but it was not realistic to leave hungry.
In a cafe, prices are the same everywhere (hot about 15 lev, salads 4-8 lev, drinks about 4 lev), for lunch they ate sometimes (pizza (they always took it in 1 place, called Ivan Ivanovich, there is a huge piece of pizza 2 lev, and if you also take a drink then 2.50), very tasty big pancakes with chocolate and banana (the best ones are made not far from the Admiral, near the restaurant there is a ship), ice cream from the machine at every step is sold for 1-2 lev, fruit in a glass is no more than 5 lev (melon, watermelon, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, strawberries), various fast foods and shawarma are at every turn, many different markets (not far from the Shipka hotel in the store, a package of water from 6 bottles = 6 lev, and how much Milka chocolate shops, so it’s generally eyes widen).
Entertainment: I strongly recommend 6D cinema (unreal emotions), a water parachute (80 lev for two, you go on a boat, then they gradually release you into the air, as a result you fly at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, this is an unforgettable experience, they also take pictures on professional camera, 1 photo 10 lev), a train (walks along the coast).
Excursions: we did not go, but any tour agency offers a good choice.
Parties: close enough to the center, in the evening Golden Sands come to life, here whatever your heart desires, there are bars at every step to warm up the club, where music plays and alcohol is sold for various promotions, after that everyone basically moves to clubs, the coolest is considered - Arrogance, the Germans still loved Malibu (there are a lot of people, it’s not realistic to find someone, I don’t talk about dancing at all), in all clubs there is a paid pass of 10 lev (5 euros), somewhere there is a paid toilet, in clubs there is an easier promotion: you pay 10, and somewhere around 15 lev and drink as much as you want for 2 hours, some bars also offer free cocktails (of course, there is almost no alcohol), in the evening there are promoters and distribute flyers, and there the choice is yours.
Germans are just a dime a dozen: where you can’t pass, German flags hang, in the evening they yell like they’re not normal, in clubs, of course, they are everywhere, too, so only young people hang out, they themselves come up and get to know each other, they react calmly to a refusal to communicate and immediately fall behind (! ) .
The hotel fully corresponds to its 3 stars!
Who is not picky about the rest, is not used to sitting in a room, and also wants to protect himself from communicating with drunken Germans, then this hotel will suit you more than.
Golden Sands is a place of youth, parties and democratic prices! And no matter how many of you, two or a company, you can't help but like it here!
