The hotel has paid Wi-Fi. The furniture is old but not falling apart yet. In the bathroom, there is a shower with drips on the ceiling, but we somehow didn’t care, it’s a troika. To the sea slap 10 minutes, but you can walk.
Nice clean pool, well-groomed territory, children's playground.
Everything seems to be fine, but we did not like the policy of paid sunbeds by the sea. In order for the four of us to fall apart for a day on sunbeds, you need to pay about 30 euros. I'm not greedy - but it's expensive.
The room was cleaned regularly. Nothing is missing. The safe at the reception was not used.
You can go one time.
The Internet is bad, the cost is 10 euros for a week, the connection is terrible, they could only call via Skype, and then with the video turned off. The social networks could not upload photos, constantly "thrown" from the Internet.
In Bulgaria, a lot of young people from Germany rest in Golden Sands, and they walk in the wild until the morning. Very noisy. Therefore, when checking into a hotel, ask to be placed away from these young people, otherwise you will not sleep. We were quiet, we slept with the balcony door closed, because. music plays everywhere until the morning and is very loud. Every morning leaving the room on the bed left 1 lev. We were cleaned every day and towels changed every day. They don't pick up very well. If you look into the corners, there is dust and cobwebs from a month ago. And the beds are old and dirty. But if you come to the room only to change clothes and sleep, then I think that perfect cleanliness is not so important. In principle, I would come again and settle in this hotel, because there is cheap housing. Walk 10 minutes to the sea. The beaches in Golden Sands are terrible, everything is filled with paid sun loungers 8 lev, and umbrellas 8 lev. As for our standards, it is expensive, so we were looking for a place where to lie on the sand, and this is a big problem. There are very few empty lots, and almost everything is occupied. We discovered the beaches in Albena. Go there 10-15 min. The car can be left on the side of the road before entering the city, as the entrance to the city is paid. The beaches there are beautiful, large, clean sand. There is a restaurant on the shore, the entrance is 12 lev, and there everything you want and as much as you want, everything is in abundance. That's how we went every day to Albena to the beach.
It is best to change currency in Varna.
I stayed in this hotel 2 times in a row, guided by the principle: "The best is the enemy of the good. " Among the locals, the hotel is called "Scandinavian" due to the fact that the audience is mainly from Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway (mainly teenagers and pensioners), etc. everything is decorous, slowly, quietly, unobtrusively and with units of compatriots !! ! I ate only breakfast, because for a variety of impressions, I wanted to have dinner every evening in a new restaurant. Breakfasts are hearty, appetizing, however, over time they become a little boring : ) The rooms are simple, neat, regular cleaning, change of towels, shampoos. Iron free of charge at the reception. All staff understand Russian. Only levs are used, the exchange rate for 1 euro is 1.94 levs, 1 $ ~ 1.70 levs. At prices that I remember (the principle is universal: the farther from the embankment, the cheaper).
Food for two, including the first, salad, something meat for the second (the portion is large for one, it is better to take the second for two), coffee will drag on somewhere for 15-20 euros. Ice cream ~ 3.50 leva 100g, a bottle of 1l of water-1.20 lev. On the beach: an umbrella-8 lev, a sunbed-also 8 lev, a mattress for it-3 lev. Total, 19 lev = 10 euros. But you can on the beach and for free. Very nice and well-groomed on the neighboring Riviera, admire it, you won't regret it! Admission is free after 17.00, if before this time, pay at the entrance, at least for an umbrella on the beach - 10 lev. Bonus mineral pool and 2 showers with thermal hydrogen sulfide water. Again, after 17.00 it is already free. Every 15-20 minutes there are buses to Varna, the ticket is 3 levs, the time is 30 minutes. Taxi drivers charge 20 lev. There are many modern supermarkets of various kinds in Varna - prices are lower than Ukrainian prices for food and things, which is not a sin to use. In Golden Sands, it’s better not to mess with gypsy-looking sellers - intrusive, prices are too high.
I chose the time for the trip consciously: it was still not crowded, not so hot, the water was not very hot, there were few compatriots (I include everyone born in the USSR among them), few children. From the tricks of the hotel, I note the following: when renting a room, they tried to knock down money for the so-called use of the refrigerator (I kept my mineral water there). Nowhere about this is indicated in the price list, during the settlement, too, they did not warn - such an unobtrusive service - this was not the case last year. And the second point is that all the rooms of the upper floors with a sea view go to the bourgeois : (
Cons of the hotel. Currency exchange in the lobby. all tour operators warn that it is necessary to change money only at a hotel or at a bank (go to the bank... God forbid !!! ). I obediently changed money at the hotel... on the last day I had 100 dollars left in 1 piece of paper, I asked to change me only 20, to which they told me it was either all or nothing... I had to go look for an exchanger, and it turned out that in exchangers and the rate is better, and, if you keep the check, the rate only gets better!!!
Lunch and dinner are better in restaurants along the sea... and cozier, and tastier, and also worth it.
In general, the hotel has only pleasant impressions. I advise those who for the first time or do not know where to go to settle in it.
