We go to Hainan every year, but for the first time we went not to the cleanest and most respectable bay of Yalong Bay (Yalun-van), but to Sanya. Before that, they lived only in 5 *, there is something to compare with.

Firstly, the hotel has 4 *, not 5, but it doesn’t pull on its 4 either.
Rooms: we have a "sea view" from the 11th floor you can see the sea, only if you break your neck, but the view of the pool. All have iron swings on the balconies - the child likes it. But no chair, no table, nowhere even to dry clothes. The beds are very, very hard (you sleep like on a mat), the blankets are thin, the bed linen is the simplest - white cotton, and even then they have never been changed in a week. The furniture is old and very worn. There are towels, “soap and soap” accessories, too, there are no bathrobes (although they are indicated everywhere in the hotel description), slippers are not disposable, but rubber slates (I'm afraid to wear them). In our room, out of 6 light bulbs on the chandelier, 2 are on, we asked for 2 days to change the lamps, we were even promised once and nothing... With toilet paper, the same story, I had to buy it myself at a local supermarket. A couple of times they “forgot” to take out the garbage from us during cleaning, a couple of times they didn’t clean up even despite the sign on the door with this request, although they should do it every day. The floor is not washed, only swept (but not under the beds, of course). No soundproofing. There is an Internet cable for free, but the speed is very low, especially in the evening - just checking the mail is enough.
Beach: across the road, wooden sunbeds and some plastic ones (WITHOUT MATTRESSES), you carry a towel with you from your room. The sea itself is clean.
Near the hotel there are a couple of supermarkets, a lot of fruit stalls (prices are not too high).
For 2 yuan, a motor rickshaw will take you to eat in a cafe (they will ask 5-8 yuan back), but only to one definite place - with whom there is an agreement. However, it's delicious.
There is a bus stop in front of the hotel - on the yellow bus number 8 for 2 yuan per person you can get to the pedestrian street (the center of Sanya), by taxi there 20 yuan, but with comfort. To Dadonghai by taxi 40 yuan.
Pegas-Touristik does not see or hear you if you do not buy excursions from them (they don’t need a tourist anymore), and their prices for excursions are huge. Since we have been in Hainan far more than once, we know what we are talking about. It is better to take a taxi and go on your own.
Better yet, look for another hotel. And if you are coming here for the 1st time, so as not to spoil the impression of this delightful island, be sure to go to Yalun Bay (Horizon, Sheraton, Ritz-Carlton hotels).
