Lived there the 2nd half of January. To be completely impartial, the hotel is old and unpresentable, but given the specifics of the destination, and especially in comparison with other hotels of the same category and similar cost that I am familiar with, Tuspan is not so bad, but rather good. To begin with - my first impression of the hotel as a lyrical introduction. Brought from the airport, as usual, closer to the night, namely at 21-40, dinner until 21-30, the aunt-receptionist says - go have dinner. I go into a restaurant - two Canadian teenagers are sitting eating up, there are no more people except for the staff cleaning the hall. A manager like that runs up and yells, showing the clock that dinner is over, and in response, yells that she arrived 5 minutes ago and I want to eat. Fine, he says, let's just hurry. I went for food. I remember my constant bewilderment when reading other people's reviews at the sight of phrases like "Cubans / Dominicans always dance and sing". Here I myself was convinced that they really “dance and sing”, scooping up the remnants of food from the vessels in front of my nose or right after I scooped up this food, collecting dirty tablecloths and napkins, taking out dishes, etc. Everyone sang something loud. Who did not sing, he yelled at the top of his voice to the interlocutor across the hall. In short, my dinner was unexpectedly cheerful. I still managed to snatch something from the food, ahead of the cleaners with a scoop, while I immediately fell for the hook of a small soup plate, more about this a little lower, in the section on nutrition. Upon arrival, as usual, they put me in a casemate-type room on the 3rd floor, with a "view" of the balcony wall above human height, with virtually no access to daylight. Everything there was ancient and dead, especially the bathroom. Of course, I didn’t want to stay there and the next morning I moved to the upper 4th floor, the bathroom there turned out to be 10 years newer and the view of the golf course and the ocean on the opposite side of the peninsula from the beach. In the process of changing the number, my HR cream was stolen from me, this did not surprise me much, because under the same circumstances, on my previous Cuban vacation, 10 cookies were pressed from me. As far as I understand, this is done in the hope that the theft will not be detected immediately and it will be impossible to blame a specific maid. I can only advise you to be extremely vigilant in such cases. In principle, the second room with furniture of very shabby veneer could be described as miserable, but in the main and in general it suited me, everything worked in it, besides, I saw rooms in Cuba and much worse, and much worse, in a hotel of the same level, including a sin to complain. From dawn until 6 pm, when it started to get dark, the room was all flooded with sun, the mattresses on the beds were excellent, super-hard, the refrigerator and the funny TV box performed their functions without fail, there was also a large balcony, a free safe and extremely useful to me in those conditions thermos, bed linen and towels are new and of decent quality. Among the minor shortcomings, I can note the absence of both a removable shower and a bidet built into the toilet, which, of course, is inconvenient for women, frail artificial lighting of the room and bathroom, no duvet covers are provided at all, instead of them there are only sheets, on an icy tiled floor in rather cool conditions. in the 1st week of nights and the refusal of the air conditioner to work for heating, it was impossible to cook barefoot, but I almost immediately adapted to cover it with bedspreads in the late afternoon. Of course, there were practically no hygiene consumables, but I was fully prepared for this. My standard emails appliances from Tuspan sockets worked flawlessly. Twice called to poison the anthill in the bathroom. On knocking out of the household. It took me 3 days to service the bathroom plugs, their plugs are worth their weight in gold. Cleaning was carried out daily, but at different times, at the same time they put a 1.5 l bottle of water. Of the Russian-language TV channels, only NTV-America (and even that disappeared several times), at any time, turn it on, invariably showing the dumbest, most incompetent series or nauseating "entertainment" programs, consisting of solid rubbish, an incoherent hodgepodge of events from the life of home-grown stars, to no one in the world not known. I wonder how and on what this flawed channel exists, rather than someone paying for such a feces / except for hotels /? The beach, although narrower than further inland, is still wonderful, there are showers and toilets in the immediate vicinity, the turquoise transparent ocean, even at a depth of several meters, is certainly beautiful. A couple of days there was a slight excitement up to 2 points, a couple of days I was pleased with complete calm, t of water 23 degrees, you won’t swim for a very long time. Mesh sunbeds, old sagging ones prevail among them, in order to take a new and clean one, you must come no later than 9, to take any in the shade - no later than 10, because almost every day there was a mass clogging of the best places with towels and other belongings of the Germans and Canadians. after that, they slowly went for breakfast and for various business, and were dragged to the beach at 11 at best. Towels are given on bail 15 cookies and are changed only 5 hours a day and they are not always available during these hours. The pools are clean. There were no mosquitoes, thanks to the dry season, but the sand fleas ate up, returned all in itchy boils. The territory near Tuspan is rather small, much smaller than that of all neighboring hotels, it is actually not illuminated at night, I almost broke my legs several times, making my way almost groping in complete darkness, the infrastructure is scanty - no gym, no sauna, there are no bicycles at all. At the reception at night, by the way, sometimes there was no one either, suddenly something urgent - check out, for example, and the porter either sleeps in the lobby on the couch or is completely absent. There is no lush garden as such, natural plants preserved during the construction predominate, in some places a few bushes are planted. Moderate cleanliness in the building, common areas and on the territory is observed. Service in most cases is satisfactory, people work positively and diligently within their capabilities, tips, even rare and small, are welcome. In the evenings at dinner and in the lobby, invited musicians played music at a quite decent level, violinists with a keyboardist amazed with their highly professional performance, in the indoor a la carte the female trio sang excellently and not at all amateurishly. There were some performances after dinner, but I didn't go. A single animator by the pool spent days trying to entertain the audience, inviting them to dance on stage, bingo, etc. Smoking is not forbidden anywhere except for elevators, the stinkers of all countries really suffocated, especially on the beach. There is currency exchange in the lobby all day. The food for the budget four is excellent, there is not much variety, but even without it it was quite good, comfortable satiety was overshadowed only by the throughput, or rather, the inability, of the main restaurant and the resulting stress, which no one needed on vacation. The food is mostly simple and high-calorie. Lunch and dinner are approximately identical - 2 types of soup (creamy ones are not bad, but they were salty), 1 fried dish for cutting (pork ham or chop, roast beef, turkey or chicken), portioned pork (often they strove to throw it unroasted on a plate, repeatedly brought it back ), steaks, fish (always the same) or shrimp, rice and potatoes in different types of side dishes, fried bananas, black beans, pumpkin, less often stuffed peppers, eggplant (once they were horrified by creepy, almost raw), various varieties of cabbage. There were always ingredients for a salad - 2 types of leafy, cucumbers, radishes, sometimes peppers, there was a small selection of sauces, spices - none, except for salt and pepper shakers on the tables. Local fruits are always in abundance, watermelon appeared several times. Their confectionery and pastries are hardly edible, puff cakes with protein cream and shortbread cookies were more or less usable, the most disgusting thing is Cuban biscuits. Croissants are often stale in the morning, brown bread 2-3 times a week, the rest of the time their traditional bread is yellowish and tasteless. But the ice cream is awesome 3-4 types is stable at lunch and dinner, I just gorged on it. For soup, almost flat plates of large diameter are provided, and not tureens, as in most hotels, it is not recommended to pour them more than half the volume in order to avoid the formation of soup puddles when trying to bring this full plate to the table, constantly the entire floor was in the soup in the area vats, because at first everyone strove to pour himself to the top. It was funny. At breakfast, several types of fresh juices, yogurts and shakes from them, only nasty soluble cocoa, with horse sugar content, as well as fried eggs for a queue of 10 people at least, pancakes (often cooled down), bacon, cheese slices, natural ham and sausage, honey, jams, compotes, a couple of hot dishes like potato croquettes, beans or minced meat from yesterday's meat, etc. on the little things. The rest of everything also went to pasta and mayonnaise salads, devoured by crazy Germans. Lobsters for 12 cookies at the poolside snack bar with a 24-hour bar where you could also dine with a small selection of dishes. The beach bar with the most symbolic selection of drinks and opening hours from 10 to 17 served fast food at lunchtime. There is also a small fruit bar with fresh, open 4 hours a day. Catering is the most ugly of all the hotels where I lived, the hall at the buffet at the same time accommodated 20 percent of the guests, which led to the formation of queues in front of the doors that I had never seen before, just to enter and take a table, even for breakfast. In the available spacious extension to the canteen, tables were not laid and not served. Some at breakfast carried food to a nearby bar and sat there eating. In the end, it was very annoying, but at first it was completely infuriating, for dinner I had to queue for 15 minutes in order to enter immediately after opening and not wait until the first ones who came in had eaten. Inside, 3.5 cripples were serving, fussing a lot, but having little time, she went for drinks herself. There is only one boiler in the hall, including the waiters, if one of them comes up with a full tray of cups for coffee, you are tormented to wait to pour tea. Waiting for them to bring even longer, it's easier to do everything yourself. In the morning, sometimes it was not possible to take a cup / spoon due to their absence, the finished food was replenished irregularly. There were often dirty dishes. On the eggs in the morning and in the afternoon and in the evening on fried meat and fish there is 1 person each, in the lobby bar the same, even in the evening, when there are a lot of people, the 2nd is present, but does not pour, only washes the dishes, the queues are always huge. The Stolovkin Hall is air-conditioned for the winter in an excessively fanatical way; it blew me a couple of times there. Both a la carte are complete bullshit, the food there is exactly the same as on the buffet, they exist only to unload the latter. The population of the hotel changed from day to day at lightning speed, including in terms of its density, the mass arrivals that occurred were expressed in relentless queues for breakfast up to 10-30 and a fully occupied beach, it was believed that many came for a day or 2. This time I've seen enough of drunken Canadian truckers and their shoulder girlfriends around the clock, neighing and yelling in chorus in a restaurant with tables of 6-10 fermentingly sour individuals. Because of them, during meals, there was always a noise-din, like at the station. It cannot be said that the hotel was full of them, but the constantly present 2-3 such kodles made us remember our compatriots drunk in the trash somewhere in Turkey as the nicest people. Surprisingly, there were many Germans, apparently who had defected from Egypt, who turned out not to be scrapped into such a distance. There were a lot of ours too. In a small number, Latin Americans were observed, or rather, it is difficult to identify them and the Japanese. The weather did not let us down, only 1 day was partly cloudy, during the day the sun was hot at 35 degrees, after sunset it got noticeably colder, the first week probably up to 18, I even slept under 2 blankets with a closed balcony, then the nights became warmer. Solar radiation, despite the winter, is very strong. Of course, there was no lush riot of nature at this time of the year, practically nothing blooms, some trees dropped their leaves and stood naked, so I had no admiration for the surrounding beauties on this visit by and large. . The parasites from Aeroflot delayed the return flight for 4 hours, which, in the absence of a full-fledged duty-free and Wi-Fi at the Havana airport, turned out to be truly nightmarish, especially after a 3-hour transfer. No drinks were provided in violation of the rules of the Ministry of Transport. Creepy tour operators dragged a full plane of passengers to the original time, as if they did not know anything about a flight delay of 14 hours, for which they had a huge FI.
