We flew to Cuba together. I just want to clarify a couple of things. First, take some warm clothes, because in the evening you may need them. Secondly, if you are flying to Cuba for the first time, then be sure to set aside some money for a trip to Havana, it will save you in bad weather, and you simply cannot understand the whole flavor of this country without it. Well, the most important aspect, when checking in, it is better not to stay in the main building. Let the view from the window be not the best, but for that the rooms are cleaner and newer. We originally had a room in the buildings behind the main one, and we met a couple at the hotel who lived in the main building, visited their room and realized that we were very lucky. The room itself is not bad, flat screen TV, free safe, iron and ironing board, refrigerator. Cleaning is normal, maybe just lucky with the maid, or maybe a chocolate bar and a couple of cookies contributed to this)). But the towels were changed on time, made swans on the bed. For a couple of days, the water in the tap was just warm, but even then you could rinse. The view from the room was on the garden and partly on the road, but this is not critical. In the morning you could sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee, and in the evening with a glass of rum, and the rum is really very good). So if you don’t sit in the room, then it’s even good. When the weather was bad, we took excursions, we especially liked the trip to Havana with a private guide in a vintage car. Personal approach, a lot of interesting things, and it comes out cheaper. Service in restaurants and bars is normal, if you do not take into account the details. The bars generally worked great. And in a restaurant, if you sweeten the waiter a little, it will also be no worse. The food is not bad, very tasty omelettes for breakfast, excellent grilled meat and fish for lunch, delicious coffee in the lobby. The staff is a little lazy, but we thanked one waiter and we had our own table and good service for the whole stay. A la carte is also worth a visit, at least once. In Italian, I really liked the service and the dishes themselves. There is also a 24-hour bar with various snacks and fast food, and they cook it deliciously. He saved us a lot after long walks in the center of Varadero and there were always few people there. The animation at the hotel is weak, especially if the weather deteriorated, then the animation itself disappeared. There was live music in the evenings, in good weather, entertainment and dancing near the pool and a couple of good evening performances, but this is not the most important thing. The beach is amazing, we swam almost every day. We had enough sunbeds and even in bad weather the water was warm. So, in combination with excursions, we had a great rest, and despite the little things, the rest was super.
