Greetings to everyone who is going to sunny Cuba, they themselves have just come from there and are full of impressions that I want to share with you.
As for our hotel and hotels in general on Varadero: we arrived at the hotel at 24:00, the first impression of the hotel and our room was a nightmare. Looking around in the morning, our opinion has changed a little - green territory, a large pool and several bars in it, there is also a pool with a jacuzzi, and most importantly, it is a wonderful, excellent ocean, really, such as in the net in the pictures, when you see this blue, turquoise water smooth surface, ready to forgive all the shortcomings of the hotel.
As you know, all hotels in Cuba operate on an all-inclusive basis, and this saves them. In the restaurant, the food does not shine with variety: fresh salads, meat, fish, omelettes, pasta... Cubans simply don’t know how to cook desserts, they suck completely, only the fact that there is ice cream and fruits saves. And most importantly, for dinner, we always had grilled tiger prawns, we only ate them, and there were always squids and salads with them. Also, all kinds of local and imported drinks are free, and of course, mojito (super) pina colada cocktails (this hotel sucks) and others. In general, they communicated with tourists from other hotels, so they didn’t give seafood at all. We also learned that in Cuba all hotels that are 4 stars are former triples and they did nothing to improve their appearance, but simply stuck one more star and that's it. In general, the Cubans do not worry about the design, and as it is written in other reviews, they are all very lazy and in no hurry to fulfill your request - there is no comparison with Egypt and Turkey in terms of service. Well, in general, the hotel is good, the food is normal, the rooms are cleaned regularly, and most importantly, the ocean is just super impossible to see enough of it. The only thing is that there are no corals and fish in the ocean, we saw a few fish and such corals on Koyo Largo Island, but of course you can’t compare with the Red Sea. Not a little important information: Internet in Cuba is available only in large hotels. Even at the central airport you will not find it. If you decide to go to Viñ ales yourself, also know that there are all the places worth seeing that are paid and are not cheap.

Yes, I forgot to say, beach towels in this hotel are paid, they cost about 15 kuk. So it's better to bring your own from home or you can take from the room, but then you will not have clean shower towels. Well, as for booze, there is a lot of it and in any quantity, but it is poured into small disposable cups (experienced Canadians went with their national glasses in the form of thermoses). No, of course, you can run 10 times to the bar for a beer, but it's not fun, because you want to lie in the sun. Conclusion, take containers with you from home to lie quietly on the beach, enjoy the sun and drink beer, cocktails.
As for excursions: be sure to take a jeep tour, very cool, adventurous. You will be driving a jeep yourself (do not forget to take a license from home), ride horses, swim on a boat and a water scooter on the river, swim in a cave in a natural lake, see a really real wild Cuba. A little advice if you go on this tour, take something with you that is not a pity: pens, notebooks, sweets, in general, anything, there will be little kids on the roads in the villages, if you give them something, they are very happy, you can even look at them it's a pity. Be sure to see the capital - a colorful place. Well, of course, the island of Coyo Largo is just a miracle. In general, it’s better to immediately take a ticket right there, which we did (3 days of Varadero in order to go on excursions, the rest of the time we rested on the island), hotels are of course more expensive there, but the beaches are better and nature itself too, t air and water are always a few degrees higher than Varadero, there is also less rain, in general, you really feel like Robinson Crusoe.
Have a good holiday, good mood, and most importantly sunny weather.
