You will not see the main entrance from the main street, with sliding doors and a porter at the entrance. A rather modest entrance to the hotel among the many doors of various shops and is not remarkable in any way. Is that an inconspicuous sign above the door "Blazer". A small hall with various information on the stands, on the opposite side there is a row of tables and chairs and a small, even very small, reception desk: the desk itself, with a computer, the printer is already placed on the floor to the side of the desk, a chair and a bookcase behind this whole structure ( pencil case) where all sorts of things are stored. We arrived in the evening. Therefore, we did not experience delays with the expectation of settlement. A pleasant woman was waiting for us at the reception, greeting us in English. After asking for a passport and checking it with the computer data, they quickly gave us the keys to the room, while explaining something in English.
Since I speak English a little better than Greek, and the pleasant lady speaks Russian just as well, then, without going into the details of what has been said, having just understood that smoking is not allowed in the rooms, we went up to the room. By the way, all administrators at the reception speak English. Only one woman was Russian-speaking. The schedule of their work remained incomprehensible to me, as well as the working hours of all other organizations, shops, etc. They changed several times a day. It looks like they worked for several hours. By the way, get ready (for those who are in Cyprus for the first time) that on Wednesdays Cypriots work only until 13-14 hours. On Sundays, many shops are closed altogether. But the working day begins, in my opinion, early. The hotel has two elevators. We lived on the 3rd floor, room 308, although in our opinion it was the 5th floor. The windows overlooked neighboring hotels and shops. So about the number. At the hotel, at least as stated on the website,
two types of rooms: regular and superior (redecorated). We had the usual two-room apartments, or rather apartments with 2 bedrooms. In my understanding, it was supposed to be a room with 3 rooms: a living room and two bedrooms. However, this turned out to be not entirely true. Opening the door you immediately find yourself in a room that is a cross between an apartment corridor and a kitchen. Right next to the wall there is a small kitchen corner, a dining table with chairs and access to three rooms: a bathroom and two bedrooms. The walls of this room are painted white, and there is white tiles on the floor, which creates confidence that you are in some kind of treatment room and a nurse will come and prick your finger. The tile has cracks and chips in places. The kitchenette had a small refrigerator, a sink, a seagull and a toaster. There is no microwave. From the dishes were deep and shallow plates, coffee cups, cutlery.
There was also a cutting board and a healthy pot in which you could cook borscht for a week for the whole family. There were no other utensils or pans. There was a bottle of detergent and a new sponge in the sink. The furniture is quite shabby, traces of the stay of many guests are visible. Bathroom. The bathroom is large, consists of two consecutive rooms. In the first room along the way there is a washbasin with a mirror. I must say right away that in the room there are only soap dishes with liquid soap: one in the washbasin, the other in the shower. Behind the second door of the bathroom is a toilet and shower. This part of the bathroom is quite large. But here's what confused me, given the size of the room, it was equipped with a small pallet with a curtain, in which only my youngest daughter felt more or less comfortable. Well, do not turn around at all - in the truest sense of the word. The toilet was old. Water was constantly running, apparently
the cistern drain valve had already worn out, and the washbasin was a little clogged - the water was not draining well. Finishing white tile. Toilet paper and liquid soap were constantly replenished. Cleaning was every day, towels were also changed daily. But behind the door in the shower, as there was a bunch of hair, it remained until our departure. Hot water was constantly. The bedrooms were basically the same. The floor was fresh laminate. The walls were painted white, but already in need of updating, in places there were slightly darkish streaks or specks. Of the furniture were two beds, by the way, new and very comfortable. But the rest of the furniture has seen more than one guest in its lifetime. Doorless cabinets, bedside tables, table were slightly shabby. Also, there were only three clothes hangers (hangers) for two bedrooms. Also in each bedroom there was a TV, air conditioning and a balcony. The air conditioners were working properly
TVs showed different channels. There was only one in Russian - the First. The balconies are somewhat narrow. Each balcony had a plastic table and chairs. But there was only one way to arrange them, so there was no way to get to the far chair. We had to ask for a dryer separately, but they brought it quickly while we were walking and left it in the room.
Check-out at the hotel, as elsewhere, at 12.00, check-in at 14.00. We flew back in the evening. With the help of a guide from the meeting party, the next day upon arrival, we booked a standard double room with the administrator (it was free at that time) for the last day of our stay in Cyprus, unfortunately we could not extend ours. The administrator kindly allowed us to move in the morning. The room was accordingly prepared and cleaned by 09.00, for which many thanks to the staff. The absence of the need to wait for standard check-in hours allowed us to arrive on the last day by 10.
00 go to the beach and spend carefree time until the evening, calmly wash after the beach and pack your bags. The double room was also not improved. The description is the same as ours. The only thing was that the bathroom equipment was newer. But the shower tray is just as small. Cost us a double room for a day 35 euros.
WiFi in the hotel is free, but catches in places. Much better at reception.
The only very darkening moment of the stay at the hotel was a nearby construction site. They started working early. I woke up from the noise at about 06.30. My wife used to say that they started at 6 in the morning. They closed the balcony, turned on the air conditioner and the noise decreased a little. I could have napped for another hour.
Most of the sights of this city are within walking distance from the hotel. When I say "within walking distance", you should not understand this - I went out and immediately ran into the wall of a cathedral or a mosque. No.
But you can walk in 10-15 minutes: the old castle, ancient Kition, St. Lazarus, various museums and an art gallery. Also, a lot of boutiques and cafes. With children, you can also visit the amusement park, it is located on the road to the sea, between cafes. You can walk slowly to the sea in 5 minutes. Unfortunately, it is still cold in early May. The sea was 18-19 degrees, and the first few days the air temperature during the day was 22-23 degrees, at night 14-15 degrees. You can get to supermarkets on your own: we went to Metro and Sklavenitis, but we were too lazy in Lidl. We took a taxi to Sklavenitis for 8 euros. Although the meter showed about 6.5 euros. But we called a taxi at the reception and the cost was announced 8 euros. We returned on foot. We got there in 18 minutes, not at a fast pace. Nearby is the marina, where you can ride a yacht with champagne or book a fishing trip. We decided to just ride. The walk takes an hour at sunset. Taken closer to Larnaca airport,
where planes fly very low over you and you can even make out the inscriptions on the fuselage. The sunset is beautiful. It costs 12 euros. For four (two children) we paid 36 euros. Champagne one glass each, children - water. There is also a bus station nearby, from where you can drive to other cities or go to the water park in Ayia Napa: 711 bus 1.5 euros, intercity intercity 4 euros.
In general, the hotel is not bad, the decoration of the rooms is being quietly updated. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The location is great.
