You can go to that beach. 200m along the coast - it is protected from currents by an artificial pier. There is a supermarket near the hotel, cashiers speak Russian and English. On foot slowly, to the center of Paphos 20 minutes along the sea, uphill to the central market of Paphos 20 minutes.
