We rested in August 2012. We went with a group: mom, brother (15), girlfriend (21) and me (20).
The first disappointment of the hotel is the location. It is not 10 minutes to go to the sea, as stated by the hotel, but all 20, along a dusty road past Cypriot gardens. The beach is good - you can't argue with that - but this is not the merit of the hotel. (Protaras has the best beaches in general! During my 12 days in Cyprus, I traveled almost the entire country by car, swam in Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, and neighboring Ayia Napa. I have something to compare with).
About the hotel itself.
The hotel has a nice outdoor pool. We did not see the covered one, because it is closed for the summer. The guests of the hotel (as, by the way, of the whole of Protaras) are mostly British and wealthy Cypriots. There are few Russians, but this is even good) Poles and Germans, oddly enough, you almost never meet in Cyprus.

The girls at the front desk are pretty polite. True, as it turned out, they cannot provide a book of reviews and suggestions, because they allegedly do not have it, but more on that later. The promised gym in the hotel is not, animation, by the way, too. NO ONE AT ALL! Tennis court is paid. There is parking, but, frankly, it doesn’t look like a guarded one: there are no cameras or any kind of car registration. Security, by the way, also for all 8 days of stay in this hotel, we have not seen.
I can’t say anything about food, since we went without a travel agency, and breakfast was not included in the room price. I saw the menu. for 5 or 6 euros they offer a list of dishes and drinks, a total of 20 items. Breakfast, by the way, from 8 am, which is convenient for a tourist who likes to sleep and not convenient for someone who loves excursions.
About numbers.
We had a studio room at first with a view of the city, then we changed to a similar one with a view of the garden and pool. The rooms are pleasant enough. Our room had two rooms: a bedroom and a room with a kitchen. The equipment at the reception and the furniture in the rooms are old, the beds are small, there is no TV, the declared desk too. Well, at least there is an air conditioner in each room - this is a plus! True, the remote control for air conditioners is given only on bail of 10 euros. An adapter for sockets and an iron are also issued only on bail. Internet is paid and quite expensive.
The first 2 or 3 days the room was not cleaned. They didn't even take out the trash! Then they did a very mediocre cleaning. By the way, the usual jars of shampoos, shower gel and soap were not in the bathroom even when we first settled.
Ants were crawling in the lobby near the elevator. We also had some small insects in our kitchen. Twice, very politely, I asked the girl at the reception to do something with them, because it is impossible to store food in a place where ants crawl. When I went down to the reception for the 3rd time, the girl gave me a spray, and I had to poison the numbers in my room myself! Service......... I think it’s not even worth talking about a stinking electric stove and a half-working kettle.

I, of course, got used to a good rest and quality service, I myself work in a St. Petersburg hotel and I can turn a blind eye to many things, but the way they “congratulated” me on my 21st birthday did not fit into any decency limits. On the evening of August 31, we calmly sat on our balcony, drank wine, ate fruit and talked. At about one in the morning, some inadequate man from below began to yell something at us and wave his arms. We ignored him and continued our conversation. At 2 am we went to bed. After about 10 minutes, someone knocked on the room, but we did not open it, as we were already ready for bed, lay in beds and, in fact, did not wait for anyone. After another minute, the lights went out in room 15, and we heard footsteps. My mother and I left the bedroom and saw two men aged 50-55 walking around the room where my brother and my girlfriend were sleeping on separate (I emphasize this for a reason! ) beds. My mother and I put these two men out, and after a couple of minutes we went down to the reception for explanations. We sleep, half past three at night, some men open the room with their key. For what purpose? Simply put, we gave them an interrogation with prejudice, and then a scandal at all. They said that we were noisy and they came to calm us down (to calm us down when we were almost asleep?! ), and if we don't clean our room, they will call the police. We are not afraid of the police, we called. I speak good English and was able to clearly explain everything to the retarded policemen. The men began to say something in Greek to the cops, they told me something about "relationship with a fight"....as it turned out, they allegedly thought that one of us was "relationship" with my 15-year-old brother! Firstly, it's none of their business, and secondly, it's absurd! The police shrugged their shoulders, asked us to return to the room and, in case of problems and a repetition of the situation, call them at 112.
In the morning we again approached the receptionist to find out who these two men were and how they got the keys to our room. I was escorted to the "office" - a room behind the counter, where I saw one of our nightly visitors. He turned out to be the manager of the hotel. When I asked him to explain my night visit, he got rude to me and said that if there was noise again at night, they would evict us. Yes....you know, but usually in hotels the birthday boy is somehow congratulated, they put a cake in the room, etc. I didn’t need it from them, but I generally expected to hear from him at least some kind of apology. Leaving his "office" I asked for a book of complaints. They shoved me some kind of sheet - a guest questionnaire, which visitors usually fill out at will and write what they liked in the hotel and what they didn’t. They said that they would give it to our tour operator (which we do not have). Nonsense! As it turned out, they do not have a complaint book....we realized that it was useless to argue with them, did not spoil our mood even more and went to the beach. the next day we left the hotel and moved to another part of Cyprus - to Paphos.
An essential and, perhaps, the only advantage of the Artemis Apt hotel is its low cost. When chasing a small profit, ask yourself if you are ready to sacrifice your holiday mood and comfort, saving a couple of tens of hundred euros? !
