Much has been written about the hotel, (especially on Russian sites) I will not repeat myself, I will note the information that I did not find in the reviews. The hotel is definitely worthy, we traveled all over the coast, compared, looked at the Cypriot "five" - we concluded that Cavo Maris looks much better, and it has a trump card, and the service is good, and the food, and programs in the evenings. It is not clear why 3 *. After much deliberation, we came to the conclusion that, perhaps, 3 * due to utilities (there are installations on the roof and they make noise approximately like "a helicopter flying somewhere in the distance", they can be heard on the beach, but, strangely, not heard near the hotel in the pool. I think that those living in rooms on the upper floors and closer to the junction of all the wings of the hotel will not be very comfortable if they sleep with an open balcony. It seemed that all the extreme parts of the hotel were removed from such places of discomfort. We got a room with a side view on the sea towards the courts. This side also has disadvantages in the form of the proximity of kitchen refrigerators (they don’t buzz very much, you can sleep) and a garbage point in the distance (it’s not visible and there is no smell, everything is in bags, neatly). BUT: at 3-4 am every day a garbage truck came and rumbled for 10 minutes with a terrible roar, then it left and it was quiet again. But the roar was heard even when the balcony was closed (after the wine tasting, we missed only one night, when the garbage was taken away : ) ). The bottom line is: pay for a room with direct sea views and it might be better. (although even grasshoppers interfere with some). All of the above is just a small fly in the ointment, because during the day there is nothing to complain about: the staff is courteous, they understand English, the reception speaks Russian, you can ask everything, clarify, you saw how an ambulance was called to an elderly man, everything is fast, well-coordinated and with participation. The food is excellent, after all that I drank and ate, digestion strangely behaved normally (it remained a mystery to me why, at home, I know there would be problems). The pool is clean, every evening everyone goes down to dinner and the pool is no longer working (at first it was a pity, but then they decided that it was good. The more they clean, the less infections, and tipsy men do not turn sour there until night. ) By the way, there were few drunks, all basically, families with children and decent foreign pensioners. After seven in Protaras it is already dark and the evening comes quickly - then we realized that the sun was not visible from behind the mountains, in Paphos at that time everything was full. In the evenings, the wind can rise, there were days when you didn’t want to swim in the evening. It dawns early, at 7 in the morning life is already in full swing - cleaning is in progress, children are running along the corridors, you won’t sleep for a long time, and you don’t need to - for breakfast, and for new experiences. We rented a car near the hotel, Toyota Yaris 105 euros for 2 days with maximum insurance + 50 euros gasoline, drove 700 km. there was a quarter of a tank, ate 5 liters. approximately. We drove all the coast to Paphos and then went to the capital. There are no beaches like in Protaras and Ayia Napa anywhere. In terms of the beach with children, it seems to me that there is nothing to catch in Limassol and Paphos. The fountain show is cool, but for 60 euros, if you don’t mind, you can go, it seems that there are only 3-4 of them in the world. Boat trip from Famagusta to Cape Greco with swimming 10 euros, children free of charge. Inexpensive and nice. A Coca-Cola boat departs from the Protaras pier, we visually liked it more, but we rode Aphrodite, it is smaller. Prices in stores are different, alcohol was found the cheapest, oddly enough, on the promenade in Protaras. If you go from McDonald's to the hotel on the left side, there is a store there, I don't remember the name, but it has a special showcase, alcohol and price tags for 1 piece are displayed. and for 3 pcs. (type small wholesale). There the wine was cheaper than what we drank, local, and for example. Martini 6.5 euros per 1 liter. before that I saw the lowest price of 8.5 euros. In general, in Cavo Maris you can have a great rest, I think to everyone who needs it - it’s calm there, without these clubs-restaurants, like in Protaras hotels (how do they sleep there? ). But again, who needs to hang out - everything is close - the same Promenade in Protaras with entertainment, for whom it is not enough - Ayia Napa 8-10 km. Taxi all Mercedes are long for 3 doors if the taxi driver picks up all the places - in the afternoon it comes out cheaper than the bus, and it costs 1.5 euros to Ayia Napa and it seems that they go up to 2.30. I rate Cavo Maris very well and recommend it to everyone. We had a good rest, we wish you a good rest too.
