From April 13 to April 27.2010, I rested with my husband in Karlovy Vary, for the tenth year in a row, in different hotels (Dvorak, Ambiente, Central, Villa Ritter and a number of hotels).
This year we decided to go to Ostend. I liked the hotel both externally and internally, when a year ago they came to see: the rooms are spacious, antique furniture, and the first impression
even very good. But this impression is only the first, and when you do not live there.
We read reviews about the hotel only after paying for the rest and no longer wanted to change anything, but in vain. What is written in the reviews is absolutely true. And the fact that in hotels there is a place of theft from a safe, about disgusting food and poor housekeeping. But we doubted it a little and partly did not believe it, and of course we thought that this would not happen to us.

We had apartments. The room is magnificent (a large two-room apartment) and the first impression is wonderful, but then, as always, gray everyday life begins.
Upon arrival, I showed the duty officer at the reception a review of the hotel, that the hotels
there are thefts from the safe, to which she replied that this is not true and that these are the machinations of competitors, and she guarantees that this will not happen to us.
In the first days of our holiday, the food was simply disgusting, the choice
there are no salads, so, a little cut cucumbers and 2-3 tomatoes, the impression is that there are only two of us in the hotel. For breakfast, there is nothing to choose at all, yogurts were two or three times, it’s not clear
what taste, in half-liter packs, apparently the cheapest. Cottage cheese is also watery and not tasty. Slicing was, but also the cheapest varieties of sausages and cheese.
In other hotels, K. V. , cheeses and cold cuts, was a hallmark of the Czech Republic,
not a shameful stain like in this hotel.
The hot dishes were not tasty and were regularly repeated, apparently due to the lack of sufficient funding for food. About a week later, the food improved a little, apparently, the shift changed, and there was
variety in food, but it was not stable, a day or two delicious, on the third again
no choice.
I would like to note that the work of male waiters is always friendly, attentive and smiling, which cannot be said about a woman waitress. The restaurant is very clean, music plays, mostly recordings in Russian, which creates coziness and comfort.
Now about housekeeping. Every morning the maid comes, just to
empty the bins, and if there is a towel on the floor, he will replace it, or say that there is nothing to change for, and therefore you always throw the towel with caution, leaving a bath or personal one just in case. And once I accidentally saw how she picked up a towel from the floor, rolled it up and hung it on the bathtub as clean, I told her about it, to which she answered, thinking that it was clean, accidentally fell on the floor.

The floors, during our stay, have never been washed, in the bathroom, in the toilet in the kitchen. When did I ask? It is customary for you to wash the floors, to which she replied that the room was clean and that in general she did not understand Russian well. For two weeks they vacuumed 2 times in the rooms, probably because we were in the room. In general, the rooms are not cleaned, but they make the appearance of cleaning.
The robes are torn, stretched and in need of updating. And they stopped giving slippers altogether.
After two days at the hotel, I noticed that I had lost 1000 crowns.
(2 pieces of paper for 500 kroons) I didn’t declare anywhere, because I noticed not on the day of the loss.
It's no wonder that they stole it, because the cards from the safe are all the same, and access to them
Any hotel employee has one.
The only bright and bright spot in this hotel is the doctor, Irina Farafonova. Qualified specialist. He treats the patient's problems with understanding, clearly explains how to solve them, and correctly selects the procedures and tells you how to continue treatment at home.
It is a pity that such a doctor in this hotel is not on a permanent basis, but comes when
he is called.
If there were more such doctors in hotels, then the attendance of the hotel would become higher and more stable.
I would like to contact the owner of this hotel (according to rumors, you are a Russian).
Show up more often and control your property. Pay attention to the reviews on the Internet, because everything they write about is true, the truth. In addition, you do not receive part of the money that is taken from clients for additional procedures, they do not go through the reception, but in cash. And in general, who is the manager of this hotel, to whom all services are subordinate, is very difficult to understand. It seems that everyone is on their own and there is practically no one to solve any issue related to rest and treatment at the hotel.
In conclusion, I want to say that the hotel does not correspond to 4 * stars.
Home at the reception, rude and not hospitable - 2
Restaurant - Cleanliness and service - 5, food -3.
Room - cleaning -1, bathrobes old and torn - 1,
Towels are often torn and not always changed -2.
Doctor -5.
Nurses 4-.
And in conclusion: who goes to Karlovy Vary, bypass this hotel. There are many

hotels even 3 *, where service and treatment is much higher than "Ostend". Before buying a tour, look at all the reviews about this hotel, there are no such bad reviews about more than one hotel.
Irina.
