It just so happens in our few foreign countries that we seem to be going to one city, but from there we definitely need to wriggle somewhere. So, in preparation for the trip to Prague, I (yes, alone) decided to rush to Kutna Hora. Fortunately, it's not very far - 50 minutes by train.

Kutná Hora is a small old town. And, in general, if you have time, you should look there. But we were most interested in Church of All Saints in Sedlec, formerly a suburb, now the Kutná Hora area. I saw it somewhere , then I read about the unusual decoration of the temple made of human bones.

Scary and. . . beautiful. Of course, in the endless storerooms of my Wishlist, this one was also deposited - on occasion, see with my own eyes Sedlec Ossuary. I will not reprint information from Internet sources, if you are interested in learning about the details of the origin of this church, take a look, for example, here.

Electric trains to Kutná Hora (where we need the main station Kutná Hora hl. n. ) depart from Main railway station of Prague (Praha hl. n. ), direction towards Brno.

The new station building

It is possible with transfers, but it is easier on the direct line, which departs every two hours. You can check the timetable and cost on the station website. The ticket is not tied to time, it can be used within a day on the chosen direction. But you need to get into the carriage of the class indicated on the ticket, as a rule, the majority chooses the second one. Very comfortable too. In any case, we went to Kutna Hora in one of these.

But we didn't know about the different classes. When boarding the train, already upon returning to Prague, the whole crowd went to the same cars, but we were cunning : )), we went into an empty one.

Surprised, they say, why is it so. Russell

relaxed... And then the controllers. It was they who explained that we need to go to... another car, but this one is not supposed to be for us : )). We went, and there... tryndets, do not push through. Frankly, we did not understand what trick is a significant difference in the cars themselves. There were exactly the same coupes, but with blue seats, also three each. . .

They write that from the station in Kutná Hora to the Ossuary there are buses for 35 kroons. But they weren't there then. Yes, it's not that far on foot. And you won't get lost, your paws will show you the way.

Actually, most train passengers will stomp there.

Opening hours and ticket prices - they are different there: only to the Ossuary or in combination with other cathedrals on the official website.

On the tourist portals there was information that from January 2020

photography will be prohibited due to the ugly behavior of tourists. People touch these bones, even dress up skulls for spectacular shots. No comment…

About my own feelings. Even though the whole thing has already passed into the category of a tourist attraction, it was hooked! Shocked and even delighted! "Remember every brother: we were like you, you will be like us"

There was no aura of fear and horror. Probably just prepared. Yes, and with such a large number of people it is difficult, of course, to be imbued with the frailty of life.

Even at some point it seemed that all this was not real, plastic. Why not? After all, even the bones someday crumble, especially with such a strong exploitation. Maybe,

therefore, some do not disdain to touch the remains.

But it wasn't the number of bones that struck me the most. Once again you are convinced that human fantasy is limitless.

Undoubtedly, everyone who has encountered such a... er... work (or not a work), a type of applied art (or not art) or just a non-standard use of human bones, has their own opinion and vision of this issue. And, probably, in this case, they are all true. But personally, what I saw did not produce such a repulsive effect on me as some creations of modern art.

**********

This concludes my short notes about the trip to Prague. They helped me sort out the emotions I received and the interesting things I saw.

If my cheat sheets help someone else, then it’s not in vain soiling paper tormenting the keyboard : ))

Well, and from the same trip "Karlovy in transit" .
