The hotel is located in a quiet part of Prague, not far from the historical center of the city, on one of the picturesque streets. The hotel's stately building combines the graceful atmosphere of 1930s Prague with modern decor.More →

A very decent hotel for not capricious tourists. The rooms are modest, but you can relax, sleep, wash and recover. Friendly staff, especially Simone, who always greeted us with a smile on her face. Decent buffet for a 3* hotel. Very quiet, there are only a few people in the hotel. PRO HOTEL

It was not the first time in Prague: before that we stayed at SUSA 3 *, ORION 3 * hotels. These hotels in the city center are quite new, the rooms are spacious, there is a kitchen with utensils, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a kettle. In general, like small 1-room apartments. The prices for them (and we went in November) were acceptable and the service and breakfasts were excellent. But this time we went to beautiful Prague in the midst of the tourist season for 12 days, and when we saw the price lists of these hotels for April, we decided that we needed to look for something more modest. We opted for the PROKOP 3 * hotel.

We arrived at the hotel at 23.00 instead of the expected 15.00 - we lost the whole day! KD avia kindly combined our Kaliningrad-Prague flight with a couple of others, and we had to fly instead of the desired Prague to Munich!!!! ! And from Munich to Prague we were taken 5 hours by bus ....Arriving in the long-awaited Prague late in the evening, we drove to the Hlubocepy area by tram and ....Oh my God! ....
What a steep climb to the hotel! The road rises at an angle of almost 45 degrees!!! ! Taking into account the fact that we had huge bags, our climb lasted about 30 minutes… We cursed the day when we found out about Prokop& #61514; )) But, when in the morning we, after resting, having breakfast and looking around the wonderful surroundings, found a bus stop not far from the hotel, we immediately perked up& #61514; Everything turned out not so bad!

In general, the hotel made a positive impression (although to be honest, it cannot be compared with the “three-ruble” SUSA and ORION): they cleaned, if not every day, then every other day for sure, friendly staff (both Czechs and two girls from Ukraine worked there ), quite decent breakfasts (coffee, tea, milk, juice, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, cutting of 3 types of sausage, cheese, bread, other pastries, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, yogurt) - not a restaurant, of course, but not hungry die : ). The hotel is far from new, and the furniture is a bit old, but everything is in good condition.
The room had a huge double bed, a tiny refrigerator, a table, a sofa, a telephone, a TV (it shows some kind of Russian channel, like ORT); the bathroom is a toilet, a sink and a shower, everything is clean and we were quite pleased to use this luxury of civilization)). The reception, however, was often empty, but we did not have particularly urgent problems and questions, so this did not become a hindrance. From the outside, the hotel can only be opened with a key, which is given to each guest. There is a schedule of buses and trams at the reception - so you can easily plan what time you need to leave the hotel so as not to miss the transport.

PRO LOCATION

The place is great! this is the outskirts of the city, but very picturesque: small cottages, greenery everywhere, mountains, birds sing ...in general, beauty! ! The city center is in principle not far away: the bus stop is a 2-minute walk from the hotel.
On the 120 bus in 7-8 minutes you reach the stop "On the book", and from there to the center is within easy reach - 5-7 minutes by metro, no more. It may seem to someone (I read other reviews) that the hotel is terribly far and inconveniently located, but this is not so: firstly, in Prague there are no problems with transport (even at night) IN PRINCIPLE, secondly, they open from the bus window beautiful views of Prague and the river. Vltava - and for us every trip from / to the hotel was a real excursion !!!

In short, if your goal is to spend a vacation in a hotel from morning to evening, having breakfast, lunch, dinner, having fun in the casino located right there, then of course Prokop is not for you. It is also not suitable for tourists accustomed to luxury and tourists of retirement age.

We returned to Prokop only to spend the night, so we considered it inappropriate to overpay for a 5 * apartment & #61514;
In a word, if you are planning an active vacation, you are not pretentious in the interior and are not against morning and evening walks in the fresh air - then Prokop is the best! Cheap and pretty decent.

ADVIСE

- beer and food (if desired: ) stock up before returning to the hotel: there are practically no shops in the vicinity of the hotel. Everything in the hotel is expensive. Albert department store (which is located at the last stop of the bus 120 "Na knitse") is open until 8 or 9. In Prague, and in the Czech Republic as a whole, shops close very early & #61516;

- travel: the ticket is valid for a certain number of minutes / hours, it is suitable for all types of transport, including the funicular. In my opinion, it is better to buy tickets ("ezdenki") for a week or immediately for the period you stay in Prague - after a couple of days the ezdenki pay off. In the subway and on the bus.
At stops, ticket vending machines ONLY accept iron coins and you will have to constantly change money to buy a ticket - this will have to be done 4-5 times a day if you buy tickets for 60-90 minutes. In addition to metro and bus. stops, rides for any number of hours (not only for iron coins, but also for paper crowns) can be bought at any Trafike (an analogue of the Russian Rospechat)

- food: we constantly ate on Wenceslas Square in the Rustika restaurant. I don’t remember the exact address, but if you go down from the National Museum, then it will be 100 meters away, on the left side. Although this is the center of the city, a tourist place, but the prices are reasonable (the three of us: me, my husband and my brother) ate to satiety (ate first, second, drank beer) - the total bill was about 400-500 kroons. Excellent national cuisine.
I also liked the cozy bar RESTAURACE U POMN& #205; KU, Gorazdova 1, Prague 2 www. restaurace-upomniku. cz
It's next to Palacky Square, if I'm not mistaken, next to the embankment.
The food is very tasty, HUGE portions, excellent beer, the prices pleasantly surprised: the three of us ate heartily for 350 kroons.

PROLOGUE
The trip turned out great, we spent an unforgettable time in Prague! If we go back in April, we will definitely choose Prokop!

And only 3 TV programs worked (one is true in Russian) Number: There is a broken socket and a burnt cover Territory: only the road is ahead, but a beautiful view !! ! Entertainment and sports: none Beach: no Additional: Despite all the minuses, I think Hotel Prokop is not even a bad option if you consider a low-budget trip. Silence, tranquility, remoteness from the center and the freshest air in the morning, in addition to birds singing at dawn, overshadows all the negative aspects!! !

There was no hot water for 2 days and that was in January! When we moved in, the temperature in the room was 14 degrees Celsius and slightly warm batteries. It was not possible to move to another room, because all the rooms were occupied. We were promised that the room would warm up. He warmed up. On the 3rd day.
There is no air conditioning or refrigerator in the room. For 8 days of stay, the linen was not changed even once, but the room was cleaned and the garbage was taken out. Linen and towels are fresh, but with underwashed stains. In general, the furniture and equipment of the room is far from new, but serviceable. There are no decanters, glasses, ashtrays on the table in the room. In the bathroom there are 2 plastic cups for toothbrushes and a small bar of soap. Soap was not added during the stay. TV in the room shows the 1st channel of Russian TV, Polish and French channels. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms. To smoke, you have to go out into the corridor. The conversations of smokers can be clearly heard through the door, and in the evening it really bothers. There are no fire alarms or fire extinguishers in the hotel.
The staff understands Russian well.
Breakfast - buffet. 2 varieties of sausage and cheese, gray bread, chopped tomatoes, muffins, slices of cake, chocolate pudding, various fillings for yogurt (in the absence of yogurt itself), coffee, various teas, milk, chocolate pudding. And so every day. A day later, heated sausages or scrambled eggs alternated.
The hotel is located in a quiet area, built up for a long time not the cheapest cottages, but without the "Rublev" 5-meter fences. Calm and nice place. Walks around the surroundings will introduce you to another, non-tourist-lubok Prague. To the tram 10-15 minutes on foot. First, an easy ascent, then a steep descent. In the opposite direction, it will be difficult for the elderly. By tram 10 minutes to the nearest metro, 30 minutes to the center. There is a bus stop 5 minutes walk from the hotel, but the bus runs 2 times an hour during peak hours, and 1 time per hour at other times. There are tram and bus timetables at the hotel and at all stops. Trams keep the schedule exactly, but 2 out of 3 attempts to leave by bus did not work out for us - the bus simply did not come.
In general, you can check into this hotel if you plan to use it only for an overnight stay, or to save money.
