St. Vitus Cathedral is a Gothic Catholic cathedral in Prague Castle, the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. The cathedral is ranked among the pearls of European Gothic, is an artistic and national-historical shrine of the Czech Republic. Czech kings and archbishops of Prague are buried in the aisles of the cathedral, and the coronation regalia of medieval Bohemia are also kept there.

The construction of the cathedral was finally completed only at the beginning of the 20th century. St. Vitus Cathedral - the dominant of Prague Castle. He can not help but impress and leave indifferent. It can be considered indefinitely both outside and inside. Inside the cathedral was a long time ago, the first trip. Yes, very beautiful, but many people, although then still admitted for free, only for the photo had to pay extra. All subsequent trips to Prague, as if I want to calmly repeat the cathedral, but I'll see the turn and the desire disappears. Another feature is to climb the tower.

The cathedral, which has graced Prague for over 600 years, is one of the largest cathedrals in the Czech Republic. Here, according to the guide, saints, provincial rulers, kings, princes and archbishops are buried. Czech rulers were crowned here. The most important element of the south side of the cathedral is the bell tower, where the largest bell in the Czech Republic is located. The entrance to the tower with the bell tower is open to visitors only in good weather. From the top you have a breathtaking view of Prague.

St. Vitus Cathedral is the largest and most important church in Prague and the Czech Republic, it is one of the most famous cathedrals in the world, an outstanding example of religious construction, both in terms of technical characteristics and artistic level. Its ancient spiers have given a special charm to Prague Castle for over 600 years. In addition to worship, the cathedral served as the place of coronation of Czech kings and queens until 1836, the burial place of the remains of holy patrons, emperors, nobles and archbishops.

It is impossible to convey in words what he saw and the photos also do not reveal the beauty of St. Vitus Cathedral, both externally and internally. Entrance to the cathedral is free, but only in the first part of the temple. If you want to get closer to the altar, you need to buy a ticket, the price is about 10 euros. I was most impressed by the stained glass windows, some of which are the work of Alphonse Mucha (you can identify them by the artist’s characteristic manner) The cathedral is so huge that a high-rise building can fit into it!.

Once I got lucky! I have been to the Czech Republic. I went with a group from a very good firm "Intour". And our first tour was in the center of Prague and its sights. And when we came to St. Vitus Cathedral, I froze! I have never seen such beauty. All this gothic of the cathedral penetrated the soul of each of the tourists. This is both a beautiful and terrifying place. On the inside, it didn't disappoint. Vintage gothic windows, majestic halls, a place worthy of kings! When we had a free day in Prague, I returned to the Cathedral to feel all the magic of this place, and to look at it from all sides in order to remember it.

A beautiful cathedral...I think one of the most interesting cathedrals in Prague and one of the most beautiful cathedrals I have ever seen. I was struck by the amazing interior with magnificent colorful stained glass windows. Unfortunately, in late April - early May there is a huge influx of tourists. It's hard to take good pictures in such a big crowd. A visit to the cathedral is only with the purchase of a ticket, but it's worth it. The cost of the tour is 250 kroons, this includes a visit to the cathedral and an overview of the surrounding area.

There are more than enough descriptions of the cathedral. Entrance to the cathedral was free, paid to the Treasury. Pay attention to the stained glass windows made by Alphonse Mucha. As a lover of beautiful panoramas, I climbed the South Tower (admission is paid). I think that from there the best views of Prague.
