I came for treatment.
Once back in 2012, I came to Berlin for a not very good reason.
I came for treatment. It seemed that I would never walk again, but German medicine works wonders and two years later I was not only standing on my own feet, but could walk. On my second visit, I decided to take a guide and see the city, which gave me hope. The guide's name was Alexander, unfortunately I don't remember his last name. He drove me in his car, told me about the Germans and Berlin in some kind of negative light, and I decided: "well, I still love my Berlin.
This year I wanted to show Berlin to my son (12 years old) and take a guide again : )
A short search was crowned with great success, we found Katya Strauss. I have never experienced such different emotions. There were many fascinating stories, which were interspersed with funny stories that happened in the history of Berlin. I cried at the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust, Katya spoke so emotionally and somehow humanly about all the horrors of Nazism.
Although I immediately remembered how my unfortunate guide Alexander said: "The Germans laid stones here, they have nowhere to put the money"
But most importantly! Dima, my son, said that we had never had such a guide.
We spent a wonderful 6 hours and literally did not want to leave. Katya was promised that we would come for Christmas))
I always liked Berlin, but thanks to Katya, I fell in love with it.
Why am I writing these words of gratitude!
