We got to the hotel in about 25-30 minutes. The weather was great, the sun, a light breeze, the bus had air conditioning, a small introductory tour along the road, in general, everything was fine. Met very cordially. All those who arrived were treated to soft drinks, and all this with dancing and incredible positive. The keys to the pre-booked rooms were immediately issued without unnecessary delay, so there was no need to wait. On the way to the room, wherever you look, it takes your breath away. The resort is very beautiful, and the climate is excellent. This is not a single hotel, but rather a chain of 3 hotels that belong to Riu. Everyone follows each other, and the Meringue is the middle one, so we walked around the territory of all the hotels, and used the beaches and restaurants of all three without hindrance. The only thing is that you always need to have dinner in your own. But I will say right away that the kitchens of hotels are no different from each other. It's just that if we were too lazy to go to ours, we could eat in the next one, that's all. The food was great. Standard buffet. There is no need to rush anywhere, if something ended in servings and dishes, then within 5-10 minutes this dish was reported, or another was brought with cuts. Cheeses and sausages, expensive varieties of ham. Meat and fish of excellent quality. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh and juicy, there were never any complaints. With us they made fresh fresh juices for free. Cocktails in bars are good, and alcohol is not spared. You can even have a drink with the bartender, here it is not prohibited, but maybe welcome))). And no one will refuse to eat. Bartenders and waiters change often, there are no permanent ones, but many try to speak Russian, it was very nice. In general, the staff in all three hotels is friendly and helpful. Always with a smile, positive, well done! You can also sign up for a la carte restaurants, there are quite a few of them, but in the main restaurants the food is just as good. My husband and I practically did not give tips, we left them several times in the room, and swans were spun from towels to us. The rooms are clean, cleaning every day. In the room there is a minibar and a dispenser for three bottles of excellent alcohol. We had no problems with plumbing or other appliances, only a hair dryer had to be taken at the reception. Our room was on the second floor with a small balcony. The view from it, especially in the evenings of the ocean and sunset, is very beautiful. The beach at the hotel is fenced off by a natural almost extinct reef. There were no big waves, the sand and the entrance is gentle. Sunbeds are always free near the shore, no need to borrow. You can lie under a palm tree and under an umbrella, if you want. And if you walk to the right side, then on Mondays and Tuesdays you can admire the huge cruise ships coming to the local port. They look very majestic, almost next to the shore. We took several excursions from local guides. We really liked it, the impressions left the sea! Brugal factory bought a couple of bottles of rum. Were in Fort San Felipe, it is very old and beautiful. I really liked the archaeological park of La Isabela, I am generally a big fan and lover of various excavations and ruins. So, the Puerto Plata resort itself, that the hotel, brought a lot of positive and left an ocean of unique impressions and emotions!! !
