Rested in Bavaro Princess from 02.03. 08 to 13.03. 08. The hotel was chosen for a long time for six months and re-read, it seems, all the reviews that they could find on the Internet, and did not lose. We were very satisfied, although I don’t know how one can remain dissatisfied with the Dominican Republic. And now in detail:
Flight.
We flew on a direct Transaero flight and the impression of the company as such is very negative. They take money for everything! Starting from the fact that travel agencies sell a ticket of two types of class: business and economy, they offer to pay about $ 1.400 extra for business. In fact, in the cabin of the 3rd class, as I later found out on the airline's website - premium, business, and economy. Moreover, the premium differs very much from the business, and it is not clear where people who pay extra $ 1.400 are imprisoned. By the way, they are fed in the business class as well as in the economy. At the front desk, we were immediately offered to sit in the business for a certain surcharge, which we tactfully refused, because. there was no real money, everything was on the map. They asked for $200 per seat. Fed as in the most ordinary charter, so-so, juice Favorite garden orange, apple, tomato, pepsi, sprite, still water - that's all. If during the flight you want to drink, please, but go to the stewardess yourself, no one answers the call. They don’t give pillows, only as an exception they brought me out of business, because our child was flying with us, they give out blankets, but not for everyone either. The TVs in the backs of the seats do not work, or rather they work, but they do not let a signal on them, and in return they offer players with movies for 500 rubles. And as if on purpose, so that more of them were taken on TV, that they show all sorts of nonsense under the ceiling, and most importantly, only 2 films were shown during the 12.30 flight. The economy seats are uncomfortable, the back reclines very little, it’s hard to sleep, be sure to take pillows around your neck. And one more piece of advice: ask to be seated at the emergency exits, we flew on them, very convenient, because. you can stretch your legs and immediately stand up and walk around on the patch. In spite of everything, the flight did not seem difficult (maybe they were mentally prepared), in addition, a 4-year-old son flew with us and had to be entertained, so the time passed surprisingly quickly. And now he joyful moment has come, landed. The airport is really cool with thatched roofs, it doesn’t even look like an airport, everything is very fast, no one looks at passports, you take a questionnaire and if you are too lazy to fill it out, you give $ 10 at passport control and they wave your hand - they say come in. At the exit you are met by representatives of travel companies, we took from Kapitaltour and we really liked our guide Denis, he also met us and was our guide at the hotel. All problems were solved instantly for which I thank him.

Hotel.
We got to the hotel quickly and settled just as quickly, gave $ 20 and asked for the best suite, I don’t know how it really was the best, but we were quite satisfied, although repairs would not hurt him, but as I understood the old rooms, this is a minus of absolutely all hotels, for with the exception of Bagia Principe, as he's new. But nevertheless, everything you needed was a safe, and a hairdryer, and a mini bar, and an iron with an ironing board and a coffee maker with coffee, which, by the way, is very convenient, my husband, waking up early, brewed coffee every morning.
Now about the hotel. The territory is huge, 5+, very well-groomed, clean, peacocks are walking, geese are swimming on the lake, ducks are walking around pink Flamingos, some local birds, two herons, which immediately catch fish at your feet. We fed all this living creatures in the morning, since the lake was located next to the main restaurant, it’s very cool especially for those who travel with children, children are delighted with how flamingos eat from their hands, as well as geese, but they are impudent, someone eats culturally, and someone strives to bite off bread with a finger, and even run after you and ask for more, they can pinch you a little, it doesn’t hurt.
The food at the hotel is great. Very diverse, constantly arrange themed evenings, at dinner there is always an Italian table (pasta), American (hamburgers, french fries), something baked (pork leg, roast beef loin, etc. ) and a grill, they fry different things, mussels, pork , beef you just show your finger. There is also a separate table from which they distribute various cheeses (such as Roquefort, Commamber) and Parma ham. Lots of all sorts of exotic fruits, most of all I liked passion fruit. True, sweets are not cooked very well. Good breakfasts in the morning: pancakes, porridge, eggs, scrambled eggs, fried bacon, a lot of different cheeses and very good ham, 6 types of fresh juices that are made right in front of you from pineapple, watermelon, melon, papaya and banana Restaurants a la carte are not they were particularly impressed there by 6: Chopin, Sakura - Chinese, Tanuki - Japanese, El Pescatore - fish, Italian, and El Gaucho - grilled. We were: in Chopin - we didn’t like it, there is the same buffet as in an ordinary restaurant they only give lobsters, in Italian - nothing special, in El Pescator - we didn’t like it, they also give out lobsters, but we didn’t like how it was cooked and we ordered a tuna salad with avocado there, so they gave us tuna from a can, the best restaurant we went to is El Gaucho, there is awesome grilled meat, it just melts in your mouth, be sure to go, I advise. It should also be noted that in bars and restaurants there are excellent drinks, Italian wines are only in bottles: white, red, rose (the most delicious pink, but very, very red), champagne - Spanish brut - very tasty, in the bar near the restaurant it is a variety of drinks that I have not seen anywhere in almost the entire range of Duty Free - cognacs, whiskey, various liquors, Baileys, Cointreau, Grand Maranier, Colois, I can’t list everything, traditionally Rum and cocktails, in general I don’t want to drink.

Beach.
The beach is extraordinary. It is incredibly beautiful - white sand and tall coconut palms near the water. True, the beach, to be honest, is not very clean, it is not cleaned well, but here a lot depends on the tourists themselves, who throw bulls into the sand. Near the water there is a strip of algae nailed by waves, for 2 weeks of rest they were removed only once. By the way, I must say that the beach is very long and wide, it is very convenient, there are a lot of sunbeds, there are always free ones, even when the hotel is full.
As for the ocean. It is very beautiful, every day a different color, the water temperature in early March is 25-26 (by the way, the air temperature is 28-29). But! Those who love calm water are not here, but on the Caribbean coast. There are always waves, sometimes more, sometimes less, respectively, algae float, which these waves beat, sometimes there are more of them, sometimes less. Another point is the wind, it is always there, for some it is a minus, for us it was a plus, because the sun is brutal and without a breeze it is simply impossible to be in the sun, proximity to the equator makes the sun completely different from any other south coast. Personally, in 3 days I tanned like, for example, in the same Turkey for a week, despite the fact that I was smeared with 30 factors, which I never smear. And one more piece of advice, if suddenly it’s a cloudy day, continue to smear, we made a mistake and fell into the only cloudy day in the open air without protecting our own skin, we thought there was no sun - we wouldn’t burn out, and burned out so that then we had to go to the SPA in order to at least somehow put yourself in order.
About excursions. We went to only one, it was called "Catalinita VIP" this is an excursion to the Caribbean Sea, first you come to the city of artists Altes de Chavon, it's very beautiful there, then you rush on a super-powerful motor boat first along this very Chavon river, which flows into the Caribbean Sea, the next stop at the place where starfish live, they can be taken out of the water to look closer but for 10 seconds, then we go to the uninhabited island of Catalinita, where a vow with lobsters awaits us, after lunch we go back to the sea and arrive at an amazing place: around the sea, and in the middle is a snow-white shoal, of coral origin, i. e. there is not sand, but corals crushed to the state of sand, somewhere in the distance there is a coast. This is a place of extraordinary beauty, the water is 30 degrees shallow, the Caribbean Sea is generally warmer than the ocean by 2 degrees and calmer. The next point of the tour is Saona Island, there is just a piece of paradise, beauty, everyone arranges photo shoots, there is a stop for 2-3 hours for swimming and sunbathing, and then on the way back. What can I say about the tour: nothing informative, but I really liked it, where else can you see such nature, it’s not in vain that films are made in the Dominican Republic (Pirates of the Caribbean, Blue Lagoon, episodes of Jurassic Park, Predator) and advertising (Bounty, Bacardi - they have there there is even an island called Bacardi Island), and what a sea...., if I go there, then I will definitely go to the Caribbean Sea, there is nothing like it anywhere, the colors are indescribable, I have never seen such clear water, you go by boat far from the coast, and the water is around azure blue and translucent transparent.

Summary: people, if possible, be sure to visit the Dominican Republic, this country of eternal summer, good mood, people are very friendly and cheerful, apparently nothing upsets them in life, because they sing and dance all the time to the latina, which plays everywhere there and it is so contagious that you want to start dancing yourself. I always leave my vacation calmly and for some reason I never regret returning home, this time for the first time in my life I did not want to leave and stay there for at least another two weeks. If there is heaven on earth, it is definitely the Dominican Republic.
