Recently returned from this hotel. We often vacation in the Dominican Republic. Were in different hotels. And so a little about this hotel:
Territory:
too huge, on arrival we were a little shocked by how much you need to go to the beach. The room was a post office near the suprerior reception. Everywhere it is indicated that grand bahia principe bavaro is the first line, but this is far from being the case! ! We can safely say that this is the SECOND LINE. Quick step to the beach to go exactly 15 minutes! For those who are too lazy to walk, trains run every 5 minutes with stops in different parts of the hotel. The territory is beautiful, green, there is a beautiful bridge with the jungle. There are pools near the sea, where music plays from different angles, full of drunken men and women in the body with beer and other drinks that they pour into the pool, spit there and who knows what else, and swim safely in this mess

Meals: The main restaurant has a large selection of dishes, everything is delicious, there are themed evenings with appropriate cuisine.
BUT, there are so many people that after 19:00 in the evening there are no empty seats in the restaurant AT ALL! You have to wait, and when the place becomes free, there will definitely be a dirty tablecloth and appliances (this is 100% every evening), the waiters do not have time to clean up. Everyone is pushing, there is a queue for dishes. There are a la carte restaurants. Were in everyone. We were simply shocked by the fact that in absolutely all a la carte restaurants there is a BUFFET! It is unacceptable! especially a 5* hotel! ! Were in the Dominican Republic and in 4 and 5 stars and nowhere in a la carte was there a buffet. It's certainly a nightmare. You can choose only one dish from the menu, everything else is a meager buffet where, again, there is a queue. At first I wanted to dress nicely in a restaurant, but the very next day I realized that everyone was wearing anything))) Even in wet bathing suits, they went to the main restaurant for dinner))

Rooms: The rooms are large and spacious. We have been in the Dominican Republic for several years and are used to the fact that we always have a beautiful view of the ocean from the room, but not in this hotel.
There are no rooms with sea views, as the hotel does not go along the beach strip, but inside. Even Hasienda has a partial view of the ocean and then from afar, not to mention the rest of the rooms. we had a view of other balconies)) They clean well, even if you don’t leave a tip, the minibar is always replenished, if you run out of water or beer in the minibar, you can ask the cleaners for more. There are all amenities. I liked the room, by Dominican standards, these are still very good rooms)) There are some flaws, scuffs, but this is the Dominican Republic, it's like that everywhere. Compared to other hotels, the rooms are quite decent.

Other: The hotel is mostly Americans, Europeans, Russians (who behaved quite well). The Americans behaved like cattle. American women sunbathe on the beach without a top, and sometimes without panties, no one remarks to them, despite the fact that there are a crowd of children on the beach who are watching all this. Excursions are best taken in travel agents. There is nothing outside the hotel.
Last year we bought mango, papaya, since there is a season in May, this time it was not possible because there is not a single market or shop behind the hotel. The hotel mangoes are not tasty. On the territory of the hotel there are many souvenir shops with crazy prices! On the whole, it's good. But I will not return to this hotel again, that's for sure)) There is something to compare with and even some 4 are much better than this so-called 5 *. It's far from 5
