We rested for two weeks in the wonderful country of the Dominican Republic. Let's start with flights. Departure from Kyiv to Amsterdam early in the morning, 2.5 hours later at Schipol airport. Very convenient docking about 3 hours (friends flew through Madrid, the docking was 45 minutes, if they had time due to the delay of the plane in Kyiv, in addition, the plane arrives in Santo Domingo and another 3 hours by bus to Punta Cana). Our flight from Amsterdam to Punta Cana took 11 hours with a stopover in Puerto Plato. The return flight is shorter by 1.5 hours without stops.
We were met by a Russian-speaking guide, brought to the hotel. We ordered the Gold Club, this gave us an advantage in the settlement (it has its own reception and, accordingly, there are no queues, although I did not see them), buildings by the sea and improved rooms.
The hotel is huge, so huge that road trains run in it. These road trains have 3 parallel routes. We lived by the sea and to get to Spa, for example, it took 20 minutes to travel by train. Therefore, leaving the room, try not to forget anything, or not to go far. On the other hand, everything is relaxed and once again it is a pleasure to drive somewhere. The hotel is well maintained, not new, but everything is on the level. Huge rooms with the same beds. Room cleaning daily and all day. I forgot to say, we rested with a company of 13 people, without children. Some lived in the Gold Club, the rest in the central part. In the center of the room it is easier, it takes longer to get to the beach. The hotel is formally divided into two mirror parts i. one side is exactly the same as the other, but there are differences. There are 14 restaurants on the territory of the hotel, including 2 main ones. Two receptions, not counting the Gold Club and Golf Club. Casino, Spa center, a huge area with souvenir shops.
What kind and good people are there. Everywhere you are greeted with a smile, for a dollar in a restaurant, the waiter will be so kind that American and Canadian vacationers will be at a loss (they feel like the masters of the planet without encouragement to the staff). By the way, encouragement is welcome, but not extorted.
We did not look for shortcomings in the hotel or service, they are usually everywhere. These are the little things, the hotel is good and the service is on top. You have come to rest.
Food - you can eat everywhere. Americans eat hamburgers, and such, correct, plate format. We ate seafood. For breakfast, the restaurant on the beach offered exotic fresh juices, they are made in front of you. Good buffet, there was always something to choose from. We did not go to the main restaurants for breakfast, it was quite fine, the restaurant on the beach. We chose lunch from the restaurants closest to the sea (Mexican, grill) or went to the main one. In the main ones (there are 2 of them), there is more choice. From lunch, the choice of seafood is such that when you see it all, you are ready to at least try it. I assure you, you will have enough strength for this by the end of your stay. Every day there is a change of dishes, of course, they are sometimes repeated, it does not bother. King prawns, lobsters, mussels, squids, fish of all kinds, and most importantly, everything is always fresh. Fruits are also sold here, but they taste completely different, there are also those that are served only there. Dinner is a similar event, after which it is hard to get up. Alcohol is available in any quantity everywhere until 2 am. If there was not enough in the room - there is a mini bar. The main drink is, of course, rum. Try the Mama Juan tincture. It awakens hyper potency and attraction. Everyone who tried it, including the girls, drank 2 glasses of this divine drink every day, and the Americans were shocked. The bars offer drinks for making cocktails, so if you are a connoisseur, go to the lobby at the reception, there the drinks at the bar are correct 12-18 year olds. Cognacs, whiskey, rum, etc. All inclusive.
The beach is 500 meters long, soft white sand from which natural coconut palms grow, under them there are sun loungers. There are enough places for everyone, besides, the public from America prefers the pool. This makes the rest of the sea calm. The beach has water attractions. The beaches are private, i. e. the hotel has its own entrance to the sea and there are no outsiders.
