We rested in this hotel in December 2017, leaving before the New Year, so the tour came out quite budget. Flight with Rossiya Airlines, without delay, but very tiring, next time we will definitely fly with a transfer, we have already explored possible alternatives. It's hard to imagine how people with small children get if flights are postponed and delayed. We were lucky. As for the hotel, I want to say that it has its pros and cons. Of course, when we read about the hotel, there was a slightly different idea, it seemed to us that the hotel would be a class higher. Ocean Blue is a fairly large hotel, with long large three-story buildings (like most hotels), in principle, the view from the room in all buildings is about the same - exit to the terrace or balcony overlooking the garden or pool. It's better to ask for a garden view because there is music playing by the pool from morning to night and the rooms are noisy. The room is not very large, with two beds, sky blue walls, and a rather compact bathroom. . The mini-bar is standard, replenished daily, although one day the maid forgot to update it, they reminded us and after 10 minutes the hotel employee brought the missing one. We tried to catch Wi-Fi in the room - it catches somewhere at the ceiling level : ) In other words, do not be stingy, resolve the issue in advance with a SIM card. We knew about the shortcomings, since back in Russia we booked sightseeing trips at the Russian-speaking agency 2Banana, they advised on adapters, local SIM cards as a bonus to the ordered tours, so we were not left without communication. As for the food, I want to say that it is not diverse, but quite edible, sometimes tasty and, most importantly, in restaurants in exotic countries, fresh. There were no problems with the stomach, they did not go hungry. There are two swimming pools on the territory of the hotel, one is noisier, with a floating bar and a jacuzzi (although people sometimes stuff there like herrings in a barrel), and the second, respectively, is quieter. There is always enough space by the pools during the day, as the bulk of vacationers go to the beach. By the way, about the beach, it is certainly not bad if you have not been to the Dominican Republic before. That is, you can start with it if you are not embarrassed by the erosion of the landscape - the beach is two-level, not too picturesque and there are a lot of algae that are not removed very willingly, so they can almost always be found. At the hotel on weekends you can meet locals, which we decided that the hotel is not bad and stands out in its price category. We can safely attribute this to the pluses of the hotel. Another plus is the presence of a huge amount of entertainment: a casino, a theater (where an evening show is held) and a really good bowling alley. The local bowling club is considered the best in Punta Cana (I don’t know, I haven’t been to the others, in principle, it’s quite pleasant and I liked that sanitary standards are observed, everything is wiped, disinfected). In addition to adult entertainment, there is a kids club and an animation team, but did not delve into this issue. Therefore, I can’t say what level, however, the kids looked quite busy and contented. Well, of course, our vacation was decorated with our excursions to the waterfalls and a trip to the starfish on Saona with 2 bananas. Very happy with the holiday!
