10 days of complete relaxation!
My husband and I visited Desert Rose in November 2008. After the rest, they were tanned, rested, satisfied and in love with life! In Egypt for the first time, I want to share my impressions, maybe it will help someone to navigate... Because after reading negative reviews it becomes simply ridiculous and at the same time I feel sorry for people for their attitude towards life.
1. Settlement.
While riding the bus from the airport, our guide repeated several times that the checkout time starts at 14:00 and we will be settled in our rooms by this time. But despite this, all 29 people who were taken with us were settled very quickly. We filled out a questionnaire, waited a bit, then handed out the keys to the rooms, put on bracelets. Those. Our plane landed at about 8 am, and at 11 we were already in the room.
2. Number.

Booked with a sea view. But first they gave a room with a view of the road, a tennis court and a neighboring hotel in building 4000. When my husband returned to the reception and pointed at the ticket that they ordered with a sea view, they apologized for overlooking it and gave another room in building 3000 with a side view on the sea. The final difference is huge - I specially photographed the view from the first room and from the fact that we lived. Although the numbers themselves are exactly the same. So, we lived in the most convenient place - 2 pools, the main bar, opposite the main restaurant, close to the sea.
The room was cleaned, the furniture is good, everything is OK, only there was no shower gel (shampoo) in the shower. After a call to the reception, they brought everything literally in 3 minutes.
I want to pay special attention to the silence in the room… With the balcony open in the evening, you could hear the music quietly, but if you close the door, the room was COMPLETE SILENCE. It is very important for me personally. . .
3. Nutrition.
Of course, Egyptian cuisine is very specific. But the choice was huge, so there was plenty to choose from  We were not hungry  I was delighted with French pastries, jams and cakes! I especially liked breakfasts - muesli with milk, buns, omelettes or fried eggs, toasts... I missed normal potatoes 
When we had lunch with a tour in Cairo on the banks of the Nile, the restaurant had the same dishes, it seemed that the same chef was preparing  In a word, Egyptian cuisine.
I always took wine for lunch, during the day we drank beer, tonics, drinks, coffee. Many write that beer in Egypt is like water, and drinks are bad... Personally, I liked everything, I drank it with pleasure! They even regretted that they didn’t take minke whales with them for beer 
4. Staff.
Polite, hardworking, smiling. Very often we observed in the restaurant how the waiters themselves approached the elderly and brought their dishes. Russian speakers. Common phrase: "Hello friend! How are you? ”But it’s not stressful at all, no one got it, politely, culturally.
At the reception they did not understand Russian at all. We tried to communicate with them in English.
5. Cleaning of the room, territory.

The room was cleaned every day, everything is clean, tidy, cosmetics are arranged by a ladder, T-shirts are all folded, nothing has ever been lost. Once they put a dollar on the bed, so these swans in glasses were spun out of blankets! Specially photographed them. Our friends from Moscow were constantly coming up with something even without money.
The territory is large, green, clean! Something is constantly watered, cleaned, cleaned... In the morning, the sand on the beach was swept up, it was perfect! If something washed up on the shore, they would definitely fish it out of the water and clean it up. I didn’t have time to put an empty glass or throw something into the trash - almost immediately they came and took it away. Compared to our resorts, they simply licked the territory and the beach!! ! The sunbeds were constantly leveled, put in place, everything was even and clean.
6. Beach, sea.
The beach is large, clean, with umbrellas far apart. Very comfortable! The most trump places near the sea had to be taken in advance. Before lunch we were by the sea, after lunch - by the pool. Beauty 
Sea... Well, what can we say about the Red Sea? I fell in love with him at first sight! We swam with a mask and snorkel, examined corals, colorful fish! This is love for life!
7. Excursions.
We went with our tour operator to Cairo, to the Pyramids. To touch eternity was my most cherished dream…. And she came true!! ! We were all warned that the trip is very tiring, we were not at the hotel for a day. But for me it passed easily and imperceptibly, the Pyramids are worth it!! ! I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't go!!!
We also went from the locals on a boat trip to Paradise Island. I liked it very much! Of course, I expected more from the island, but already at home, comparing the photos on the beach of the hotel and on the island, it is clear that the water is emerald green, cleaner, and the sand is whiter! We got a funny team, they constantly sang, played with children, entertained tourists! Then we were told that on the same excursion on another boat there was silence and boredom...

All in all, it was a great vacation! We are planning to go again in May. We are all persuaded that Turkey is cheaper, service and food are better. But... Egypt is 100% great weather and the red sea with corals and fish! Oh, I also forgot to write that music was constantly heard from the speakers on the territory of the hotel, so relaxing... Throughout the rest I was in complete relaxation, I didn’t need any parties, discos or parties... I won’t go to this hotel just because I want to be photographed against a different background  We choose hotels in Sharm El Sheikh.  Can you recommend a good one?
