I want to leave a fresh review about the Hilton Plaza hotel. By the way, thanks to everyone that wrote something about this hotel, the reviews helped us a lot when choosing a hotel for our holidays! When we were looking for a ticket, there were no offers for this hotel, although after reading all sorts of reviews, we realized that the ratio of pluses and minuses here is quite acceptable for an Egyptian vacation. Therefore, when we were offered this hotel, we had no doubts, especially since the slushy weather in Kharkov did not favor delaying the trip : ).
We went with a group: 2 couples and our 4-year-old son. We were tuned in to the fact that the rest would be wonderful, and we agreed not to pay much attention to the shortcomings. It was the right strategy.
I want to divide the review into 3 parts: cons (where without them), pluses for parents of small children.
Minuses!!!

There were 2 outright negatives, and none of them were associated with the hotel. I would call it not minuses, but lessons. First: well, damn it, I knew that you can’t buy excursions in the first days upon arrival, I knew! But. . bought on beautiful pictures and bought an excursion from our guide to the island of Tobia. . . it cost a dubious pleasure of 50 bucks per head, and it was not worth it. The tour guide turned out to be a rare boor, we were taken to who knows where on the bus. Then they gave out old masks, transplanted them into a yacht, a cold wind blew and they didn’t even have a couple of blankets for children, dived near the reef on command, listened to a bunch of nonsense like, be afraid of gurnards and dive with a mask near the guide and then the guide rides more and complaining that the team, they say, tried so hard and tired asked to chip in for a tip . . Do you think anyone gave at least a pound? In short, the skeleton is of course beautiful, reefs, white sand, but if you go to the Hilton, then there is a pier near the beach, excursions to Paradise Island depart from there, this is the same piece of land surrounded by corals, like Tobia (aka Utopia), this half a mile, it costs 20 bucks and you don't have to take the bus anywhere. You will also be offered snorkeling, but the whole excursion will take half a day, not a day like ours... The boat with a transparent bottom, as they colorfully described to us, turned out to be a boat that swept us around Utopia, everyone did not even crowd into this transparent bottom! The hotel guide himself, having sold us this trip, disappeared, and did not appear until the end of the trip. I remember I was in the Iberotel in Marsa Alam, so there the tour guide hung out with us every day, went on excursions with us, was interested in how life was, helped to solve some issues, and then . . in short, hello Coral Travel! Normal guides were only on transfers to the hotel and back . . If you need to look at corals, buy a ticket for a yellow submarine for 40 bucks in the same port near the Hilton, look at corals and fish for life, keep in mind - inside where there is a transparent bottom - rocking! With children - only in calm weather you need to go.
Minus 2. Shopping at the hotel. We bought oil very expensive, got burned and a little scarlet was a salvation, and the owner of the shops was so pleasant, he gave way well on buying belts from snake skin, my friend and I melted and... bought oil. But as it turned out in a store 10 minutes walk from the hotel, it costs 3 times cheaper! Butter costs 0.5 -1 pounds per gram. Davila is a very big toad! If you suddenly decide to buy something from Muhamed, he is Massimo (he is the owner of souvenir shops, papyri, oils, leather, jewelry in the Hilton) bargain well! You can trade with him bags and belts made of snake skin, they are of better quality than in street stores, but we must remember that, like any Arab merchant, he is always ready with a pleasant smile for the seagulls and the wonderful Russian language will "shod" you in full! : ) You can bargain almost everywhere, but you need to know the prices of goods. By the way, they have shops with a fixed low price. So the hotel has a shop for all kinds of T-shirts, hats, etc. I bought a hat there, prices are fixed there. If you want to buy souvenirs, oils, T-shirts cheaply, leave the hotel, cross to the other side of the street (they do not provide pedestrian crossings : )) and go left, to the mosque, go through the mosque, and move for about 5 minutes towards Sheraton street, there is still there will be such a long street restaurant, along it, so if you walk around you can buy strawberries op 5-6 pounds per kilogram, small melons - very sweet, guava (fu, gidota! ), along the way the first small and nondescript souvenir shop - the cheapest one around. I bought a T-shirt there for 5 bucks, the oil there costs 5 bucks for 50 ml, there’s a lot of stuff, my uncle doesn’t bargain, but everything is 2 times cheaper than in a hotel, if you walk there, they also have other shops that are also inexpensive, but you can also bargain, along the way there are also a lot of dirty and cheap Internet cafes, there is really no speed there, there is a mini market, pharmacies. In general, we didn’t go to the Sheraton, although in the evenings we drove there from the hotel for free in buses, we met Russians who went to the Sheraton and said that everything is 30% cheaper in stores near the hotel, but the assortment is the same. If you take a walk, then you can go to the Sheraton. Well, Hurghada itself is, of course, poverty, garbage . .
What else can be noted? The pool on the roof of the hotel is not big at all, towels are issued from 9 o’clock, pensioners take places in the evening and sometimes don’t even come. The hotel administration will be fined a couple of times for throwing towels near the pool on the sunbeds - and no one will deal with this. )))))))))). In general, if you decide to lie down near the pool, go at 8 am or in the evening, throw your towel or taken on the beach on a sunbed and that's it . . Beach. there are few corals and fish near the shore, but there are a few small live corals and hedgehogs near the buoys. The hotel is full of Germans and Englishmen - pensioners, so it is difficult for animators to work. , they also breed it. In general, if you go with a company, I'm sorry to drink from the bottom of my heart, then go to the Sheraton and buy foreign booze in the market . . We don't drink much, so it suited us . . I'll tell you about the children's menu separately. As for the room - we and our friends were given rooms on the first floor in the right wing with a large loggia, but our room was close to one of the entrances to the hotel, so we changed it, gave it a little further from the entrance, they didn’t take money. I went and looked at the room on the 4th floor, objectively on the first room it’s better, and in the evening it’s nice to sit on an armchair on the loggia and drink tea and look at the sea . . Is it that the higher the room, the better the view, but in order to see the view we rode on transparent elevator to the 6th floor. . : )
From the good:

EAT. The choice of food is sufficient for a normal person. The food is not heavy, everything is low-fat, a lot of vegetables in various combinations, we do not like fatty foods, so we really liked the food, by the way, the salads are quite edible and some are even tasty. If there are a lot of cucumbers and tomatoes, we don’t have them right now . . They gave fish in the evening - in batter, fried and steamed with vegetables. Grilled tuna is bad, dry, but some fish in batter and steamed were very good. In the morning - fresh orange juice, very tasty! In the morning to eat - a European breakfast, a little but everything is balanced, sausages, beef on crackers, muesli, pancakes, scrambled eggs. Boiled eggs, when they complained that there was no crushed potatoes for the child - they began to serve crushed potatoes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What else in the morning: coffee-tea, buns, puffs, salads, fresh vegetables, tofu, mozzarella, salad, yogurts, I especially liked the unsweetened yogurt - we don't have that. For lunch - a couple of soups (vegetable and cream), although, of course, they don’t know how to make soups, but we ate, where can you go... For dinner, a lot of vegetables stuffed, stewed, grilled, 4-5 pieces of salads, sauté ed, stew with meat , squid, a couple of types of potatoes, a specialty dish, some kind of meat balls, fritters, etc. there are few cakes, but the parfait is very tasty and donuts too. In general, we didn’t come there to eat, but we went to the restaurant with pleasure, because there was never a feeling of heaviness in the stomach of the food field. In the restaurant, we were noted that we had come, and the administrator usually escorted us to a table, there were 5 of us and they always tried to seat us at a table for 6 people. Of course, it is better to eat at the beginning or at the end, because there are a lot of people at 9-10.13-14.19 hours. We went under the curtain. It's nice that the waiters tried to occupy the child with something so that we could eat in peace.
The beach is full of places, wind protection, umbrellas, mattresses. Sand, it's nice to go in, the child on the beach "cooked dinner" with sand and water and let us lie down . . the water was cool 23-24, but we swam, the sea is clean. One buck to Adele on the beach and your sunbeds and windscreens are behind you wherever you want along the entire beach . . Yes . . 1 buck is the currency of resort Egypt!
ANIMATORS. Smiling Nubian guys, Ukrainian Marta, chief animator Rusa, and 2 more girls, Egyptian and Russian, do not mess around, work out sports events to the fullest, however, the majority of people are unbearable, but water aerobics lasts 30-40 minutes, not 10 as in the Iberotel . . My girlfriend and I liked it, though the sea was a bit chilly, you will freeze in 40 minutes. We were constantly invited to yoga, dancing, darts. When our husbands were not lazy, they played volleyball, bocha, water polo . . Performances in the evenings are weak, but the guys tried, went to performances a couple of times, my child helped the animators cheerfully commenting on all this like "black uncle dressed as an aunt" : ) people laughed . . but the evening performances are weak, sometimes it seemed to me that the animators, having run for the whole day, were just tired . . Sometimes the animators just came up to talk, say hello to the child . . nice. Good guys!
Number. There are already a lot of reviews about the room. The room is approximately like in a good European triple, we were in one in Croatia, on the Plitvice Lakes, or in Budapest, but there was no climate, a kettle with tea and coffee, a bath (there was a shower) and a view of the sea and balconies . . So I would still give 4 stars to the room. This is Egypt, folks. As for me, it’s not in vain that the Germans, Spaniards and the British go to the Hilton (there are 60-70% of them in the hotel). If you want a 5 star room, go to Savoy. In the room: a view of the measures, a loggia - 2 armchairs and a table, a TV, a safe in the room, tea, coffee, a kettle, a refrigerator (which is really not needed). The children's folding bed is large and comfortable, with a mattress, the child did not complain. To sleep, wash and change clothes - just enough! They cleaned normally, left the flowers, didn’t twist anything from the towels, but we are indifferent to such things . . To put more shampoo, we left a dollar near the shampoos . . My husband lived in the Hilton in America, yes, he said, the difference is big, but also the cost of the rooms in the Hilton in Pittsburgh and in Egypt is incomparable . . So do not find fault with friends, you are going there for the measure, the sun and relaxation!

Language. We are English speakers, so we had no communication problems. At the reception there is Olga - a Russian woman. Animators, in principle, more or less, the staff is so weak, but you can explain. There is no language problem as such, but gentlemen! In addition to your own, you need to know English at a minimum level, this will help you not only in Egypt.
And the rest was a success, we swam, sunbathed, celebrated our son’s birthday, by the way, it was so nice when the bartenders from the Plaza bar brought the child another cake (the first one was in the restaurant) and everyone sang and danced happy birds together in Arabic : ). The son was happy!
This hotel is good for couples with children, or a company of several couples, because there are no parties, no drunken brawling "Russians", no queue for billiards, no queue at the restaurant, everything is leisurely, calm, pleasant! There is no point in going to this hotel for companies of guys or girls, you need to charm - there are disco and parties . . there is no one at the disco : ). Tolerant attitude towards each other, we did not feel any special relationship. We met Australians, Englishmen there, our husbands met Russians when we played polo. There is an Internet cafe, but expensive - 7 bucks an hour. My husband went there once. My nail broke, I went for a free manicure, which is included in the all-inclusive, the manicure is weak, but it will work . . Regarding massages, scrubs, etc. - We did not go there, but we heard the British say that the massage is not worth the money that they charge for it, very amateurish.
And the last one is for parents.
The beach is great! Clean sand, no corals at all, ice cream on the beach is not bad, but the sea is certainly chilly in February for a child. There are always plenty of loungers! There are children of different nationalities, you can find friends for yourself. My found for example a girlfriend from England : ).

Children's swimming pool. It is not clear how they turn on the heating, somehow they came - in the children's pool the water is 30 degrees, in general - somewhere around 25, the next day in the children's pool 24-25, in the large one - 26-27. The large pool has an entrance in the form of rubber steps - and then mine - up to the neck. He often played on the stairs. The children's pool is small but suitable for even small children (2-2.5 years old), very shallow and separate from the adult. My swim in the sea a little - in the pool - pulled out with a scandal . .
Children's animation. The Egyptian Nina is trying, but I didn’t like her. He stayed in the kids club for an hour, then he didn’t want to go there, although he participated in children’s darts near the pool, which Nina arranged, but I didn’t stay to make pizza in an Italian restaurant, although many children came there . Children's disco is for girls, and as my son said, men don't dance. .
Food. There is something delicious in the children's menu, but fried sausages and pasta, french fries . . hmmm . . we once took soup in the children's menu - it was heavily peppered, we ate adult soups. usually 3-4 dishes . . so all the children took something from the common. The son ate little, mostly rice (very tasty) with meat and gravy, pasta, sometimes potatoes, cucumbers and lots of buns and cakes, in the morning she made me eat yogurt, a soft omelette with milk, drank milk and tea. Peppered nipples, I didn’t like it . . None of us ever complained about our stomachs, we drank water - the one that was left for us in the room. Juices are all from packages, there were no problems either.
Attitude. The attitude of the staff towards children is wonderful, they always smile, help, say hello to the child, there are changing tables in the shared toilets. There is always milk and yogurt on the menu. In general, for very small ones (up to 1.5 years old), you need to take cereals with you, and who already eats adult dietary food - the child will not be hungry, for example, constantly eat vegetables and fish or steamed meat, my fish does not like steamed vegetables too, but I remember at the age of 1.5 he ate them (because I didn’t know anything else : ))))).
Fruits.
Tangerines, oranges, dates, once in the morning they gave strawberries, small bananas, they cut Dinya all the time. Well, that's all. My child got tired of all this during the winter, he doesn’t eat dates, but I ate them, -mm delicious!

They bought strawberries, he ate them, but as she said - good strawberries should be bought by weight, not packed, they should not be large, but this one was tasteless. They sell in stores, grapes, apples, lemons, etc. Everything is inexpensive. We bought a lollipop - there was no such thing as an allergy. I do not allow lollipops at home. By the way, allergies are not more than once, although they strongly react to the quality of food. Hands were washed constantly, since there are enough toilets everywhere in the hotel. We took a sanitizer on a trip. Smeared with sun cream - the sun is very strong. There was no acclimatization, they arrived with a cough and snot, they were worried that they caught a cold right before the trip, the doctor did not mind, let's go. a couple of days passed, warmed up in the sun, washed his nose with salt water. I took a windproof jacket on a yacht - the wind on the high seas is decent.
The kid liked everything. Never complained. After 11 o'clock, if the child suddenly wanted to eat (he stays up late with us), she took buns in the restaurant. In the morning before going to the sea, I took a jar of yogurt to the room, the administrators didn’t say anything, they understand that these are children, they may want to eat at any time. I took everything I needed to the pharmacy with me, when I slipped near the pool, the bruise was immediately anointed by the man who looks after the pool. There is a pharmacy opposite the hotel where diapers are sold.
In general, we had a good time there, rested, good, but not enough - we had to go for two weeks. Okay, next time . . If you have questions - write and I will answer. I wish you a good holiday!!! !
