Let's say right away - we got to the Marriott hotel by accident. Going to Hurghada, we chose the Hilton Hurghada Resort 5 * hotel, which we later regretted a lot (details can be found in the review “Not all Hiltons are equally useful”). After we and another Russian couple were robbed in a hotel that had recently been certified 5 *, Tez-Tour moved us to Marriott.
The hotel is not very new, as evidenced by its location and compact territory, but it looks respectable. One large building, 90% of the rooms with sea views, a marble hall and carpet paths in the corridors. There were less than 100 guests (with a hotel capacity of more than 400), two-thirds were Russians. Almost all Russians are with children, although the hotel is not ideal for children's holidays.
I really liked the bathroom, which consists of two rooms - in the first one there is a sink, a hairdryer and a dressing table with a banquette, in the second - a bathroom, a sink, a toilet bowl and a bidet. 11 towels for two. Cleaning is excellent, daily change of linen, towels, bottles of shampoos and creams were put daily, despite the fact that we rarely used them. Apparently, as a sign of gratitude for the money on the bed, we received new compositions from towels every day.

The staff is very polite and trained - no familiarity, "good morning, sir, bon appetit, madam. " Of the Russian speakers, only girls-animators and Pasha - a very colorful, as if politically correct, "Afro-Egyptian" from a diving center. The animation is completely unobtrusive. Service on the beach started at 7 in the morning, an employee busy cleaning, drops everything and rushes to give you a towel. Almost immediately they bring a menu of drinks and regularly come for orders. Directly on the sunbed you can order not only drinks, but also lunch. Sometimes bartenders are cunning - they bring an amazingly beautiful cocktail and offer to try it. One lady complained that she bought into such a service and she had to sign a bill for 75 pounds (with taxes 550 rubles). Good price for 250 grams of juice.
The prices in the minibar and restaurants of the hotel are outrageous. Water bought in a supermarket for 1 pound was sold in a restaurant for 9.50, juices for 2 pounds - for 13. At the same time, various taxes are added to the bill for a total of 24%. There was no count.
Breakfast is monotonous, but the choice is decent, did not have time to get bored. Dinners are themed, the staff wears a semblance of national dress and most of the dishes are themed. Tasty.
The beach is small (153 meters), clean. There is an artificial island with sun loungers and a bar, a bridge leads to it, but you can also swim (at low tide no more than 20m). At low tide, you can go around this island around the perimeter, admire the colony of sea urchins and try to catch a crab. An anemone grows on one of the pillars of the bridge, in which two amphiprions frolic (Nemo from the cartoon), other fish swim. We managed to identify the Surgeon, the Sergeant Major, the Suez Rifleman and Guban. The fish are fed by tourists in such a way that they almost do not react to food thrown from the bridge. There are no corals, as already noted on the forum. In general, there is only one hotel in Hurghada with free access to the reef - Coral Beach. In El Gunn, this is considered Movenpick, but there, because of the corals, there is nowhere to swim - either in the channels, or walk along the reef for almost a kilometer knee-deep in water.
What did not like. Abundance of mothers. It is mothers, children are almost inaudible. But mothers behave as if they are alone here - “Vasya! Immediately out of the water! ” “Petya, look what a fish! ” resounded regularly and very loudly. The second point is the dress code. At the entrance to the restaurant there is a sign “Breakfast from. . to…. Dinner from. . to… Please refrain from wearing shorts for dinner. ” Alas, the sign is in English, so almost all compatriots are in shorts and slates.

In general, we are satisfied with the rest in Marriott. We went to rest, not to have fun, and we achieved our goal.
