The first time we came to Egypt in the Marlin Inn hotel in 1999. At that time, planes flew from Kyiv only to Cairo.
Which by the way was very convenient and interesting. 2 days in Cairo and 12-14 days in Hurghada, or on a boat, or whoever had a tour.
The last time was last year. (there was no "all inclusive" yet). Every year we went to Egypt. At first we experimented with hotels, but for 3-4 years we realized that Marlin is the best of 4 stars. Price-quality is normal.
In recent years, the animation has let us down, there used to be Italian teams - it was great. Well done they were, but they have to pay a lot. There is a law in Egypt - a new hotel pays very little taxes for 10 years or does not pay at all until they get on their feet, but then they pay taxes in full. Now Marlin has become an "adult" and the owners (there were 5 of them) began to save money. on animation, on DJ - her.

Marlin has always been distinguished by good food. True, the old cook has retired and now sometimes smells of fried garlic - but this is not for everyone. And so the food there is solid 4, especially sweet dishes - you can’t get into the door if everything is there. Soups and purees are ok.
Animators - Egyptians - the principle they have is to entertain ourselves, and we will help, but there are no evening performances! During the day they put music on the beach - boom-boom and it's annoying - no relaxation, but you just need to come up and pull the tape recorder out of the socket and lie down - listen to the sound of the sea and the wind.
The territory is not very big, but green and flowery. Flowers and small and trees. For lovers of fishing - from the pier, when the boats disperse, you can catch fish and feed the herons living right there or give it to the guard (he will say thank you) or fry it at the bar on the beach. Bait - raw squid. Tackles are taken with you, but there is also a fish tackle shop in the down town near the Le Pasha hotel.
Although the rooms were recently renovated, I would like to renovate (we remember how it used to be). In the main building it is considered better, but in bungalows it is not bad. I advise you only to ask that they do not settle above the kitchen - the talkative staff will not let you sleep for half the night (the acoustics are chic). And the suite above the laundry room is a little buzzing.
Previously, on Arab weekends, a show of national dances was arranged in the hall (several times the dancers were girls from the CIS countries).
The beach is really clean, the workers clean it all the time and there are no "bull-calves" there. On the beach at the bar you can eat, but with a blow to the liver and stomach. everything is overcooked, you need to carefully make a choice. and if you do not like pepper and garlic - tell the waiter about it. also on the beach you can go for a ride on a boat with a glass bottom, kayak, banana, bicycle (for a fee).
Excursions are best booked at street agencies. There is one next to Marlin. there fishing is nothing and you can go to the islands. but it is better to go to Cairo with Tez Tour, although a little more expensive, but well organized.

It is not allowed to bring drinks into the hotel (water, beer, wine), but if you hide everything in an opaque bag (so that the guards do not see it), then you can bring it in, and you can’t drink your own wine, champagne, vodka, etc. in the hotel lobby, we poured wine into a bottle of water and sat drinking, the Arabs walked around and could not understand what we were doing and why the water was red, but we drank. In Hurghada, in general, in all hotels it is forbidden to bring drinks from the street. And for all 8 years, there has never been a slightest storm. The sea is always clean and calm. Unlike other hotels.
