Rested at the Marlin Inn in December 2007 from 9 to 16, with his girlfriend. The hotel met us with a spacious hall, cleanliness and polite staff. The rooms are modest, with white plastered walls, old furniture, and a Goldstar TV that is interesting to watch foreign commercials, American comedies with Arabic subtitles, and Channel One news.
The hotel itself struck me with a passion for cleanliness, it feels like the workers are polishing it around the clock, during the day they wipe the dust from the railings, windows, furniture and everything you can reach, and at night they wash and tidy the main restaurant, I really liked it, because the dust from The desert covers everything and everywhere, as we were convinced by visiting local supermarkets, the shelves of which are covered with it like sarcophagi in tombs.
Upon arrival, immediately ask at the reception for a leaflet with a list of what is provided under the "all inclusive" system, it will be easier to navigate, and if you arrived there in winter, like us, then ask for warm blankets, otherwise you will freeze, as the local builders are completely they imagine how buildings should be prepared for winter, why they build leaky windows, without double glazing, into which all the heat that your air conditioner in the room will give out.

Another feature of the local architecture is the hot water system in the room: their water is heated in tanks on the roof from the sun's rays, one tank is enough to wash one person, so the second will have to wash in lukewarm (if you're lucky) or cold water, or just wait until it warms up again. Although, we once called the reception, and their plumber, having blocked some valves, redirected hot water to us from other tanks.
Didn't like their towels that smell bad. The smell remained even though they were changed to us every day, and all because they are not washed there, but simply ironed, which is limited.
In general, we liked the staff, like the rest of the Egyptian people from shops and supermarkets, all of them are united by a good sense of humor and basic knowledge of the Russian language.
So we gave tips only twice: the first, when our things were brought to our room at the very beginning, and the last, when our room was accepted before leaving, politely asking if they were cleaned beautifully, not responding to the answer: “beautiful, thank you”, and reacting to a beautiful green piece of paper, and therefore, prepare one dollar for these cases. They cleaned really beautifully: they will make your bed patterned and fill you with air fragrance, although, in my opinion, all this is the merit of my charming beauty Tanyusha, for whom they were ready for anything, which is why I was not surprised by the daily cleaning of the room and the quick work of the waiters.
On the streets, constant “hello”, “how are you? ” are waiting for you. and congratulations on all kinds of holidays: March 8 and the new year at least. Detailed answers, all these exclamations are not required, since they will not be understood anyway. But answers in English will be understood, very rarely we met Arabs who did not know it. In English, it is much easier to explain your requirements to the service staff, and to get a discount in the store, because, from the fact that, having learned that you are Russian and know English, the Arabs are sincerely surprised and shake your hand, I realized that such Russians are very rare in these parts .

The food at the hotel left me in complete admiration and bliss, it especially bribed me when, on one of the dinners, mashed potatoes with amazing seasonings appeared on the buffet, and there were always sliced oranges, which I just adore. Sometimes, instead of them, they can lay out guava or melon, just like fruit every day at lunch on a tray they take out to a cafe on the beach. Very tasty desserts, especially those with nuts or fresh fruits like strawberries and pineapples. And therefore, I did not experience any shortage of fruits, even though freshly squeezed juices are not included in the all-inclusive list, but instead of them, you can drink Yupi at least around the clock! , if you are a fan of such chemistry, of course.
The beach is very clean with lots of sunbeds and palm trees. There are no jellyfish, shells in the water, and therefore no one will disturb you while swimming, the only inhabitants of those waters are small fish that will constantly scurry around you. And on the shore I once saw two herons. The water temperature in December is the same as in all the Ural rivers and lakes, because of which I could not know the joy of swimming in warm water. But it is crystal clear and blue, throwing all sensations to the heights. At twelve o'clock, aerobics in the water is held - an interesting spectacle for all those present and good entertainment for the participants. And it is worth mentioning the wind, in December it is quite cool and will allow you to sunbathe in the sun in comfortable conditions only until three in the afternoon, and then the sun already starts to set and you start to freeze.
I also liked the landscaping of the hotel. Bright flowers of climbing plants on the walls, palm trees and luxurious shrubs are a great backdrop for a photo shoot. All of this is under constant care.
The disco in the hotel is usually not crowded, as most of the hotel guests are foreign pensioners. Music is for all tastes. It happens as follows: at approximately equal intervals, the DJ changes different directions of music, forcing you to sit on the couch after incendiary electronic music, waiting for old-fashioned Russian pop music or, even worse, chanson.

One of the attractions is a trip on a boat with a transparent bottom. Only here the bottom is a small hatch, through which it is hardly possible to see anything. All boats belong to the hotel itself, and therefore no risks are foreseen from such a trip. And it's especially nice that you can ride a Mitsubishi at least all day long! And all because the elevator from this company is installed in the main building and unforgettable journeys await you from the zero to the fourth floor with a suspicious smell inside (probably this is the “branded room fragrance”).
Right next to the hotel there are three supermarkets with low prices, shop there first, and not in small shops with annoying sellers, otherwise you will buy everything at exorbitant prices. As I understand it, cheaper than in a supermarket, you will not find any goods anywhere. There is a Ramstore there, go there first, just don't be surprised by the heaps of goods piled on the floor between the rows of shelves - this is a standard situation in all their supermarkets, as I already said, don't be surprised at the dust. I was also amused by their security system, devoid of tags on goods with RFID chips, and receipts. There is only one cash desk, and it is located in the center of the trading floor - it is simply impossible to imagine this in Russia. They accept pounds, euros and dollars, by the way, if in some store they recalculate the purchase amount at an unfavorable rate for you, immediately say with a smart look on your face the dollar exchange rate set in the bank, then they will immediately calculate everything correctly. When we were there, the dollar gave 5.52 pounds, and the rate did not change throughout the vacation, and the bank is located directly opposite the hotel exit - very convenient. On the first day, it’s better not to buy anything, but just find out the prices in stores, this will allow you to save a lot.
Tez Tour works very well, representatives will explain everything to you, show you the way where to go and so on. I was also pleased with the work of the airport, where customs clearance and receipt of cargo are much faster than in Yekaterinburg, here they are great. Well done and the guy who will meet you there at the entrance to the toilet, do not give him money for entering, because having received it, he will calmly go on to wash the floors, and the toilets there are completely free. The fact is that everyone in Egypt seeks to earn extra money.
With a toilet on the first floor of the Marlin Inn, there is some kind of mysticism in general. When I told my girlfriend that I had never visited him before, so that the cleaner would not come there and start cleaning and cleaning something there, she immediately assumed that he was gay. Then, the next time I decided to throw a napkin in the trash, after washing my hands, the cleaner picked it up (basket) from the floor and brought it to me so that I would not miss the piece of paper. Worse: one day I got out of the stall and went to the washbasin, and the janitor in front of me turned on the water in the tap, and after that, reaching for paper napkins, I got them right in my hand, since he took them out especially for me. Since then, my foot has not been in this toilet!

The bottom line is, Marlin Inn is a great hotel for a quiet and relaxing holiday, a place where you can eat all sorts of delicious things, swim in clean water, and enjoy comfort.
And in conclusion, I will tell you about their souvenir products. It is quite cheap compared to if you decide to buy souvenirs in Yekaterinburg. My girlfriend bought very pretty silver jewelry there for very little money. After that, she remembered her old dream of getting a silver watch, since her set of gold jewelry was full, but there were just not enough watches for the silver one. Examining watches in jewelry stores, we found out that all of them either have scratches on the case, or they contain precious stones that have fallen out of the cells. They can even be called precious with a stretch, if you see small white pebbles on their watches, like diamonds, then the seller will call them Egyptian Sapphires or Swarovski, in fact, these are ordinary rhinestones, in one of the watches we even saw such a cracked rhinestone. With other stones (we took jewelry with blue topazes), as I understand it, everything is in order, since only them and the weight of silver were taken into account in the calculation of the cost. As for silver, my girlfriend was embarrassed by the huge test on case 925. Later, when she arrived in Russia, my beloved found exactly the same watch in our store, and there was no test on them, and they were sold as a steel watch. Thus, the manufacturer, at the request of the customer, stamps logos of famous brands on his watches, stamps numbers with a sample and already sells them to customers not by the piece, but by kilograms to the delight of all tourists.
