We have been resting in this hotel for the 3rd time, we adhere to the idea that if it was good somewhere, then it’s better not to return there, but it so happened that in search of a tour, the price for Mercure was very good.
They settled in a new building, for which many thanks. The room is spacious, bright and large.
The staff is attentive, always listens, but nevertheless, for 3 days they asked to repair the air conditioner, on the 4th day they heard, thanks for that. "Basket" with fruit (orange, guava, 2 dates, peach and banana) as a compliment for regular guests waited 2 days, then reminded at the reception - they brought it right away.

Places on the beach begin to take from 5 in the morning. My child and I came at 7:30 and could only take a sun lounger on the 4th line, which is quite inconvenient. The one who occupied at 5 in the morning (hung scarves, pareos, etc. ) calmly slept, had breakfast and came to the beach by 11 o’clock... I don’t think I need to comment on anything else. I have not seen this in any hotel in Hurghada : -( I was very upset by this fact. What is the time for the hotel to do - replacing the sun loungers and protecting from the wind, the sunbeds are old, they try to "save" the wind fences with rusty metal wire. Our child hurt himself more than once while digging sand.
There used to be a lot of Germans and French in the hotel. Now the bulk of vacationers are Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians, there are very few Germans.
Meals: everyone writes about the crisis and this explains the deterioration of food in Merkur, if I had not rested this year in several hotels in Hurghada, I might have agreed, but this is not so. In Mercure there is a crisis, in other hotels - no. Sausages for breakfast, which a couple of years ago were always for breakfast at the Merkur, now they are cut into small pieces every 3 days. For dinner, something is always fried on the street, watermelon was given 1 time in 11 days, and so - dates, oranges, melon. The bar has delicious ice cream, pizza, milkshakes. What you need to fight - flies in the restaurant, there are a lot of them, I had to cover the food with a plate during breakfast / lunch. Because of this, they almost didn’t eat fruit, as flies fly freely around the hall where the food for the set is placed.
Animation - absolutely not intrusive. Children's animation - Farid has not changed for so many years and still fiddles with the kids.
I am pleased with the work of rescuers - they always see and control everything.
I really want Merkur to become the same as on my first visit in 2015.
