We are in Egypt for the 5th time. We were in Sharm and Marsa Alam, but before that we chose only 5-star hotels. Mercury was chosen on the advice of agents. For 7 nights it cost us 1030 dollars for two, but this is taking into account the fact that we booked it two weeks before departure. Thought that for such money there will be something luxury - aha)))

Now at the hotel:
1. The price is inflated only because it is aimed at foreigners - 70% of them here. What is there 5))) Who writes that he is like five, then you are still at the reception waiting for disappointment in the form of a small hall.
2. We arrived at 9 am, at 10 we were given bracelets and told that we could have breakfast at the bar (there is coffee / tea, rolls and all). Breakfast until 10, so you will not reach the dining room. At 12 o'clock we were settled. For many, it will be a plus that there are Russian-speaking girls at the reception.

The room is small. With two single beds, unfortunately. With small bathroom. There is a safe, there are towels, no slippers, no bathrobes, shampoo and shower gel of questionable quality. He was pure in Egyptian.
Somewhere torn, somewhere shrunken, the bed is intact and good at that. Who loves TV, here you even have two Ukrainian. channels are available. The room is normal. We could even see the sea. Cleaning - make the bed, put towels, remove sand from the floor.
3. The area is small, so it does not matter where you live. Their buildings and furniture are not in the best condition: torn, shabby, scratched - old, in a word. There are almost no flowers, beautiful palm trees. The only thing is that they are very tired by the pool. Three pools. Children's heated. The sea is beautiful, with sand, with a beautiful entrance. If you love fish or want to see them - you're not here. And you just want to leave in the water - perfect. The sand is +/- clean, cigarette butts are not lying around. Sunbeds - come after 10, it will be difficult to find them, but the guys-workers always helped and took away from everyone everywhere. The system "take a deck chair in the morning" and do not come to the beach works here - it is unrealistically annoying when there are no free places.
There are a lot of places after dinner. The sunbeds are old, but they are being watched. People do not interfere with each other. The trick of the beach bar is that they don't pour beer there. Only salary. Want a beer - go to the pool.
4. Nutrition. If you go to experience all the "charms" of all-inclusive in the form of a variety of foods - you're not here. Once upon a time, given the number of dining tables, there was probably just "wow", but not now. Come earlier - the best choice, come at the end - well, something scratch. Breakfast: omelet, boiled eggs, pancakes, croissants, jams, sausages 1 type, sausage 2 types, hard cheese 2 types, feta, cheese, some yogurt, oranges, dates, melon, bread, puff pastry rolls, fresh vegetables, milk porridge 1-2 types, and 2-3 more dishes (maybe I forgot). Hmmm coffee is pretty normal.

Lunch: 2 soups, bread, biscuit table (if you really like sweets, you will be disappointed), fruit (melon, oranges, 2 times pomegranate), fresh and pickled vegetables, pasta (purely cooked pasta), rice, potatoes, fish 1 species, meat 1-2 species. At the bar: pizza, burgers, hot dogs, french fries, ice cream. From breakfast to lunch: only rolls in one bar. Dinner: all the same, but there may be another version of the meat and a little sweeter, the fruit was once given guava. Once there were crabs and squid. Is it possible to eat - is it possible, will it be a thrill - well - not for that kind of money for sure! Not poisoned. Alcohol: you can drink wine for lunch and dinner, all of them are typical of all hotels, that is, if you are a fan, then take it with you. Non-alcoholic: mixed yuppies, fresh fruit for 2 euros. Water - here really killed, because before this was not met: 2 bottles of 0.6 per room per day and then you can go to collect. Take an extra bottle - 1 euro.
Cleanliness in the dining room: in the photo it looks like a real restaurant, but not live - it is better not to look closely at anything - trash and not enough just flies)))
A la Carte Restaurant - 1 time for rest and 4 menus to choose from. They were not surprised by anything. The same as in all five budgets.
5. The staff is normal. There are both very good people and not so good. Tables are cleaned quickly, requests are responded to, etc. But foreigners are treated better, we hope it's just because of the age of 70+)
6. Animation. It starts at 10:30 and until 17. There are evening shows: there was live music, there were Arab dances, Mrs. and Mr. too. And yes, there is a paid evening show for $ 8-15! Animators do not get bored and involve everyone. The coolest children's animator! We wrote about him in the reviews before and we understood why. Who wants to, he will always have fun, in short. And if you want to lie like a seal, no one will touch you. There are not many sellers of excursions, camels, etc. on the beach.
The only one is a young lady photographer, so I want to shoot her, sorry. Complete inadequate.
7. Wi-Fi. There is one at the reception, but in the evening it is overloaded. Buy an orange card or a 20 GB waterphone at the airport for $ 9 and everything will be fine.

General impressions.
This hotel should cost a maximum of 700-800 dollars per season. If you pay so much, then everything is fine. Probably, if you are the first time in Egypt, the hotel will be great. If you want something better, you're not here.
