We rested on the twentieth of September 2011 - we liked the rest in Mercure Hurghada (Sofitel), 4+.
From the pros:
The territory is large and green, very well-groomed, while there is no specific unpleasant "smell" as in other hotels. There are several shops with souvenirs, gold, clothes and pharmaceuticals.
Swimming pool - there is a shallow one for children, and a large one with different depths for adults.
The staff is excellent, always smiling and not impudent, most speak and understand Russian.
Beach - sand + shells, smooth entry into the sea, the water is clear, there are good corals with fish (take your masks with you). Unfortunately, due to some fellow citizens, there are no more places on the beach under the zones closer to 9 am. in these places their towels “rest” until dusk.

Animation - is and at a good level. For children - a kids club with different activities, an evening performance, an animator by the pool. For adults - volleyball, aqua - aerobics, stretching, bocha, evening show, disco and more. The animators themselves are funny and sociable guys.
Food is standard for Egypt: there is a lot of food, but not all of it is tasty and familiar to the Slavs. Several types of pasta/macaroni, variously cooked potatoes, sometimes raw, chicken (grilled), sometimes fish (various) fried or grilled, beef with gravy, lots of vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, lettuce), from fruits - dates, oranges, grapefruits, limes, melons, grena, guava, from drinks - tea, coffee, yuppies, lemonades such as Cola and the like. Every day, 0.6 liters of drinking water is given per person. You won't leave hungry, but you will have to stand in line for dinner. Also, during the day there is a pool bar where you can take pizza, french fries, sausages, shawarma, ice cream, beer, local alcoholic drinks and cocktails from them, etc. , but also after standing in a long line, the Arabs do not understand how so much food can "fit" into the Slavs...
The rooms are modest in size, but after a modern renovation - very comfortable and thoughtful. It is better not to store food in the room - ants come running.
Room cleaning - daily with change of linen and towels, mini gel and shampoo, soap and paper replenished as used. After paying a tip, you can get figures from towels.
Of the minuses:
The hotel is filled to capacity (90% are Slavs), which causes some discomfort due to constant queues, especially for food, the lack of places on the beach (there is always a place by the pool) and the ever-present "Russian flavor". Check-out at exactly 12 noon, the official extension of the room is $10/hour.
