Had a great time at Mercure Hurghada earlier this year. We were very pleased with the proximity of the beach to the hotel, and there is almost everything you need, towels and sunbeds are free (and in hotels these elementary services are often paid), you can play volleyball, there is even a good massage room right on the beach! We were pleased with a comfortable room, delicious food, and entertainment with animators! Next year, I think we will go there again!
