I was at the Sand Beach Hotel in November 2006. Before telling everything
good, I will say that at first the hotel caused a little shock. Starting from
torn pavement in front of the hotel (well, their season was over and construction work began all over Hurghada, so there were a lot of torn up places. But this hotel had to be entered on the boards) and ending with the “duty room” in
semi-basement, with stale air, opposite the auxiliary hotel laundry and their prayer room and with a window overlooking the fence. They have 1-2 such rooms)) for the whole hotel, and they take vacationers there, you know why - a bribe for settling in the best room is 10-15 USD. e. Although, beautiful girls are accommodated in huge family suites for beautiful eyes (in the literal sense - without additional hints), and they also behave quite sanely if you reasonably tell the reception why this room does not suit you (such as "allergic to dampness" - relocated quietly and free of charge).

For my 70 pounds, I chose from 5 beautiful rooms, where I liked the color of the bedspreads and curtains more. Unofficially, of course.

So the first impression was “what 3+, this hotel pulls a maximum of 2 stars, and even with a minus! ". But that's where the bad stuff ended. They didn’t ask for money anymore and didn’t even hint - nowhere, not in a restaurant, not on the beach, not cleaners or anywhere else.

Safe for a nominal fee of 1 pound per day, available around the clock. AT
the hotel in the off-season (mid-November) is approximately 45-50 percent occupancy. They know the name of each tourist, where he came from, what he likes for lunch, etc. , in short, the dust particles are blown away. That is, really (and I was abroad for the first time, and even more so in such an ambiguous country as Egypt) you feel calm and protected.

The hotel was completely renovated a few years ago - the rooms are not rich, but very clean and tidy.
There is a refrigerator, and a TV, and even more so - individual air conditioners. to me
the only thing missing was a rug in the bathroom, but since I lived as a single, one of 4
towels (2 sets were) used under the feet. Cleaning every day
high quality, clean and unobtrusive - towels and beds were changed, even if they were not used)). By the way, linen is washed surprisingly well - it suited me, despite my natural disgust. Brought with you
I never got the towel out of my bag.

The beach is small but cozy. Directly on site. The coast is gentle, the first 10 meters is a maximum waist-deep, but there is a pier with beautiful blue water. For me, it's perfect. The beach is one for 2 small hotels - but there is enough space (in the off-season - like in summer - I don’t know ... ) for everyone.

Since the hotel territories are united by the beach, you can absolutely safely walk and take pictures in a nearby hotel - there is a very nice pool with a gazebo and exotic beautiful cacti, and more greenery than in Sand Beach, but in everything else (rooms-care-food) Sand Beach is better. Beach towels are free and enough for everyone. They just didn’t wash them at the hotel itself, but centrally and brought them from somewhere sealed every morning, so well . . they weren’t washed very well.

Fed "for slaughter" - very much. Only breakfasts are almost vegetarian - with their local sausage or sausages; Dinners are very, very varied. As for the class of the hotel (does it meet the declared 3 * +), I can say the following. Firstly, they were with friends in 5 * in the same place in Hurghada - the attitude towards tourists there is much worse, the rooms are a little better, but the territory and the beach in Sand Beach are better. In Luxor, we dined at a 5 * hotel.
Well, of course, this is luxury - both the territory and the hotel lobby - cannot be expressed in words. But the food there is worse than in Sand Beach ...I spent 2 nights in Cairo at 4 * - much worse than Sand Beach ...So everything is known in comparison - from Cairo I returned to Sand Beach, like home, terribly bored and in the hotel, and in the staff, and in my room—everything.

In general, by Egyptian standards, a 3 * + hotel is quite pulling. Calm, peaceful and quality rest. There are no discos in the hotel, animations too
(although I can hardly imagine why they are needed - everything is in Sakala, and
swimming in the sea is not boring for me even without animation). As it turned out (already closer to
departure), in the neighboring (on the other side of the previously described, 5 *) hotel there is
belly dance and disco, and 10 minutes walk from the hotel - the largest and
cheap market.
By the way, do not believe that it is cheaper in Cairo - the maximum bargaining in the Cairo market ends where the starting price is set on the market in Downtown (10 minutes walk from Sand Beach), with which bargaining is possible. And yet, when I was driving, I was very afraid that the security at the hotel would not allow drinks bought in other places to be brought into the territory - nothing like that. Water 3 pounds per 2 liters, fruits - at first they were carried in opaque bags, and then they became insolent - and even in transparent ones. Everything was fine.

In general, I really liked it. So for unpretentious tourists - this is really the best hotel in terms of price-quality ratio.
