Came back 2 days ago. I write as it is, that is, objectively.
This is not my first time in Sea Gull Premium, so there is something to compare.
What happened to you, my favorite hotel????! ! !
Believe me, I'm not nitpicking, I'm not used to looking only for flaws, I'm a very positive person and I loved this hotel with all my heart, which last year was the most wonderful vacation spot in Hurghada.
I re-read the reviews of tourists who recently visited the hotel, and was surprised to find that people began to speak worse about the hotel, they wrote that it had become much worse.
To my regret, I hoped for the best, deciding that perhaps people were just picking on my favorite hotel.
I hoped in vain...
Last time, my review was full of excellent epithets, but this year I was lowered from heaven to sinful earth, once again confirming that the Egyptians know how to splurge and create, initially, a good impression about the hotel to attract tourists.

And when people popper, after reading good reviews, then you don’t have to bother.

Hotel location and area.
The hotel is very well located in the city center on Sheraton Street, close to many shops with souvenirs, restaurants, cafes, close to the beautiful Marina embankment, where you can walk and watch beautiful yachts.
The territory of the hotel is large, well-groomed, many pools, 3 beaches.
Well, at least it hasn't changed, thank God!

So, it all started with the settlement.
The hotel was packed! ! ! (And the Egyptians are still suffering that now few people began to visit them after the revolution).
Last year, I was placed in a great room for 15 minutes, after being treated with juice, water and bestowed with smiles and greetings.
This time, no one thought to hurry, despite the fact that check-in at the hotel takes place from 14-00, not only us, but also the people who arrived even at 5 in the morning, marinated in the hotel lobby until 15-30.
At the same time, each time they said that it was necessary to come back in 15 minutes, referring to the fact that the rooms were being cleaned.
By the way, the air conditioning in the lobby, unlike in previous years, practically does not work.
People went crazy from the heat and stuffiness, and until the moment they put on bracelets (and they were in no hurry), even water was impossible to drink.
While waiting for the settlement, I heard a lot of complaints and cries about the quality of service. The people who arrived earlier, in droves, tried to change rooms, because nothing worked (shower, air conditioning, safe, TV, plumbing, door lock).
The most interesting thing is that they didn’t take money for changing the room or moving into a normal room! (At the end of the review I will reveal a terrible secret why this happened).

When the epic with the settlement ended, and we finally received the cherished key, it turned out that both the porters had evaporated somewhere, and the people carried their things on their own, and in the heat of 40 degrees and after a long flight and waiting, this is not at all fun, considering that the Sea Gull Premium area is the longest.
We could hardly find the number, because no one knew where it was, and the numbering there is somehow peculiar.

Now about the room itself.
After waiting an hour and a half for check-in, hoping that the room during this time was licked to a shine, as was always the case in this hotel, when we entered the room, we were horrified.
I have never seen such filth and chaos!
After the eviction of past tourists in the room, no one thought to do the cleaning and even throw out the garbage, I'm not even talking about washing the floor and cleaning the plumbing, which was not only dirty, but also clogged.
Nobody changed the linen, they just changed it.
Towels could wash the floor.
The size of the room killed completely - 9 square meters. m. from strength, it’s even impossible for the two of us to part.
The safe in the room didn't work.
There was no balcony, the window, which, by the way, did not close tightly, overlooked the children's pool of the old Sea Gull Resort, some kind of terribly buzzing installation was working under the window, the children were screaming godlessly, the lifeguards were whistling, in general - HELL!
The only consolation was that the air conditioner worked.
At the resepcion, no one thought to respond to my requests for room cleaning, it was generally pointless to ask for a replacement, because some tourists who bought tickets to Sea Gull Premium were settled in Sea Gull Resort, promising to relocate later.
I caught a janitor (by the name of Ali, I have never seen worse) who changed our linen, towels for money, cleaned the sink, and even brushed off the dust a little.
By the way, despite the presence of my husband in the room, this male decided to pester me (fortunately in broken English, not in Russian), saying that he is a strong man, and wants, of course, to marry a Russian and go to live in Russia, tried to hand me a piece of paper with his phone number and email address. (later, my husband found this paperwork (I think) in a broken safe)

My husband, a quick-tempered man, and so that nothing terrible would happen, I politely but firmly sent this Egyptian womanizer away.
Having spent the night in this room, deafened by the fact that some kind of crap is buzzing endlessly outside the window, and the restaurant workers carry some rattling carts around the yard all night, despite the fact that the window in the room does not close tightly, I decided all the same try your luck and armed with money trudged to the resepcion, change the room.
It wasn't there...
They politely listened to me, promising to be sure to relocate after 13-00, when other tourists leave. Refused money...
At 10-00 at a meeting with the Pegas hotel guide Valentina, it turned out that everything is not so bad with us yet.
As I already said, some of the tourists who bought tickets to Sea Gull Premium settled in the Sea Gull Resort, promising to relocate later, but no one relocated.
For those who nevertheless moved into the room, nothing worked at all, for some even the front doors did not burrow and they were offered to leave the room in turn (fuck ...considering that there was a grandmother with a 7-year-old grandson), someone did not have air conditioning (it was 40 degrees hot), some had a flood in the rooms, because plumbing broke down in the rooms on the floor above, I'm not talking about the fact that linen and towels were dirty in all rooms, and who there was an ashtray on the bed...
Our patient Valentina listened to and wrote down all complaints, and immediately began to solve our problems (I'm not kidding. This rarely happens with hotel guides. Thank you, Valentina! ).
In general, we decided not to move, because what we were offered was much worse than what we already had, and the money here did not matter.
The safe was repaired for us.
By the way, remember the sassy Egyptian macho janitor Ali? !

When I asked Valenina to be cleaned and someone else cleaned our room, many women supported me, since this goat molested all females under 60, regardless of the presence of a man with them. And I was also lucky that no one dared to touch me with their hands, other women were much less fortunate, because this bastard also pawed them!
Of course, the cleaner was replaced for us, but it didn’t make it any cleaner.
The room was cleaned badly, and it didn't matter if you left the money to the cleaner or not.
For money, only swans were spun from towels that were not changed until you wait for the cleaner and you bump his nose into the unwashed floor, untidy bathroom, dust, stale linen and towels ! ! !

Beach....
Previously, I had no complaints about the beach, because everything was fine (clean towels, clean beach, polite bartenders, a good range of drinks at the bar).
There have been changes for the worse here as well.
For some reason, they began to clean up the beach when they please, and not in the morning, as it should be. Therefore, when you come to the beach in the morning, you can easily find dirty ashtrays and garbage cans there, garbage not only on the beach, but also in the sea, no one wiped the tables under the umbrellas at all, they were dirty and sticky, so every morning I took wet wipes to wipe the table.
A separate issue is beach towels.
Before this time, I was in the same hotel in November 2011, and so, in 9 months it is impossible to nail normal new beach towels like that, unless they washed the floors several times a day throughout the hotel ! ! ! !
Most of the towels were in terrible condition!
The towels were simply shabby, with chipped edges, dirty gray-yellow.
Some of the towels were good, new clean, but there were very few of them. People who had arrived earlier and just fought to get decent towels preferred not to hand them over at all, but to wash them on their own and dry them on the balconies.
Previously, in Sea Gull Premium, beach towels were issued at the hotel from 7-00, this time they didn’t even give out towels before 9-00, moreover, earlier you could safely return the towel if you leave the beach, then, again, get a new one dry towel at any time of the day. Now there is nothing like it.

Towels can only be obtained once a day, and if you want to leave the beach, then you must take the towel with you or leave it on the sunbed. Naturally, people preferred to throw towels on the beach if they went somewhere, as a result, almost all sunbeds on the beach were always occupied with towels until the evening, despite the fact that there might not have been people on the beach.
I note that normal towels were given out extremely rarely, 2-3 pieces of normal towels are put down in the cart, and the rest of the pile on top is washed out shabby rags.
And asking to get a normal towel makes no sense. Workers immediately cease to understand all languages except Arabic.
By the way, they don't take money either.
For two weeks of rest, we never got normal towels.
After parties on the beach (I’ll tell you about them in the animation section), people dismantled the barricades from sunbeds themselves, since it was impossible to wait for the cleaners.

Bar on the beach.
Since we don't drink alcohol, I can't comment on that.
But soft drinks, which used to be in abundance and of excellent quality, suddenly disappeared somewhere.
At first, the device for self-filling drinks worked fine, although the drinks were, of course, terribly diluted, after a few days they stopped pouring anything other than ordinary soda water into the device at all, and in all compartments.
For warm cola, people stood in line to the bartender, who poured a little bit into a plastic cup. (It's good that I don't drink cola).
They put a cooler on the beach, the water in which was of disgusting quality, after this water the people rushed to the toilet in a herd ....
The bar on the beach has always been famous for its cappuccino, but they also managed to ruin this wonderful drink (not only was the foam made from raw milk, they also poured it mostly into plastic cups, and not into cups that need to be washed at least sometimes , and to do this, apparently, was too lazy).
It is very difficult to spoil french fries and regular pizza, but, as they say, there would be a desire .....We tried our best, spoiled ....

Although, perhaps this happened due to the fact that the chefs changed, who used to cook everything deliciously, superbly and quickly. Now the two half-asleep boys are crawling around and making unimaginable nastiness (soft, fat-frying french fries, burnt soles instead of the delicious pizza that has always been a success before).

Nutrition.
From the experience of past visits, I know what is cooked best in the Sea Gull Premium restaurant, people from the neighboring Sea Gull Resort and Sea Gull Glub hotels who knew about this feature always went to eat in this restaurant.
This year, out of habit, people again went to this restaurant, but now it is not much different from the canteens, which are called restaurants at Sea Gull Resort and Sea Gull Glub.
The Sea Gull Premium restaurant differed from other restaurants in that the food was always better there, the food was varied, as were the drinks, moreover, the waiters served.
The chef of the restaurant has remained the same, but the team of cooks has changed.
The number of waiters in the restaurant was halved despite the fact that the hotel was full.
They simply did not have time to rush between the tables, at the same time deliver drinks, clean dishes, put new cutlery and napkins for newcomers.
It was simply impossible to wait for tea, coffee or a drink that you ordered, and you can’t pour it all on your own, because it’s supposed to be brought by the waiter.
In general, when the waiters realized that they simply did not have time to serve everyone, and people began to resent, only then the administrator of the hall allowed people to take drinks at the bar on their own, and a queue accumulated there. The device for self-bottling drinks, by the way, also quickly stopped working.
People! It was told to you in all the reviews about Egypt - NEVER TAKE DRINKS WITH ICE! ! ! BECAUSE THE ICE WATER IS FROM THE TAP! ! !
Yes. I forgot to say that no one was going to boil water for tea and coffee either. If the boiled water ran out, then without hesitation, the waiters poured raw water, continuing to pour tea and coffee!

The menu was the usual, stewed vegetables, noodles, rice, potatoes, beans. Fresh (no, not like that. It’s more correct to say RAW) cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce were cut in the evening and covered with a film, forgetting to put it in the refrigerator, so by morning they looked and smelled doubtful.
The vegetables that are not eaten in the morning are not thrown away, even if they have already become slimy and spoiled.
In the same cup, vegetables were again cut from above and mixed with the old ones.
The only good thing was the beef stew. The fish was always the same, poorly fried.
Chicken or steaks were given out in portions in tiny pieces. Oddly enough, but ordinary pasta, which was always full, suddenly also began to be given out in portions a little bit. If earlier the restaurant was famous for its evening barbecues, then this time, even despite the fact that the great holiday of Uraza-Bayram began, barbecues were made only once a day, and then, these were disgusting overdried cutlets that could not be chewed.
Fruits were almost not given (rarely dates, darkened bananas, oranges, apples, once they gave three small pieces of watermelon).
However, sweets, pastries and bread were, as before, beyond praise, as well as cheese, which is hard to spoil.
The Egyptians never knew how to cook porridge and soups, so there are no complaints about them, just don’t eat it and that’s it.
No one thought to serve fresh yogurts either, they added fruits that had not been eaten since the evening to yesterday's yogurt, pink syrup was added to white yogurt, here's a "fresh" one for you.
The people lived in toilets)))).
According to a pharmacist from a pharmacy located opposite the hotel, it is Sea Gull tourists who are the most frequent buyers of his drugs for diarrhea)))).
You will say that we are not going there to eat, but to relax on the sea, and I agree with you.
But! If you already paid for the all system, then at least something edible you should eat sometimes!
Therefore, after 2 days of indigestion, we began to eat only relatively safe food (rice, pasta, stewed vegetables, sometimes meat).

Animation.
Well, it looked like it was...
Animators speak very bad Russian.
There are no Russian animators. Only Egyptians and two Poles.

Egyptian animators have a peculiar sense of humor (below the belt), maybe it's because our girls allow them to behave this way, or maybe they're just like that, I don't know.
The animation was always monotonous, at 10 in the morning on the beach they turned on the same music and program, which shamelessly screamed until 12. At 15-00 everything continued.
There was some kind of sluggish exercise, darts.
The main task of the animators was to sell as many tickets for evening shows as possible.
With a fool (that's the exact word), we bought tickets for a foam party with a prize draw, a fakir show and a disco.
The price of $10 per person was ridiculous.
It all started with the fact that some barricades of sunbeds were built on the beach so that no one would get, God forbid, into their program for free, although there are hotel rooms that are located on the beach itself, and people wanted to go home and did not want to go to this is a stupid show.
So, people fought their way through the guards to their rooms, and passed only when the administrator came, to whom someone complained.
Cocktails and appetizers were promised at the show.
Cocktails consisted of an iced cola and a lemon wedge, or yupi-type juices mixed in a glass.
We did not dare to try snacks, as one of their appearance completely discouraged our appetite.
After some kind of draw, where some trinkets were given out and the coolest prize was a bottle of local rum and vodka (God save you trying this muck! ), the fakir show began. The fakir, of course, is not God knows what, an ordinary animator, but he knows his business, burned himself with fire and even tried to swallow it. We respect him for his courage. It turns out that no one pays him extra for this, he receives the usual salary of an animator in the amount of $ 250 per month. By the way, at the next show, he was thoroughly burned. We went to our room and saw how they smeared him with something from burns (sorry for the guy).
The so-called foam party killed completely.

On the beach near the pier there is a small shelter about 25 square meters in size. m. There they hung a device for creating foam and drove the people there like a herd into a corral. Children aged 2 to 10 and their very drunk parents were delighted.
The rest of the people, having looked at this whole bacchanalia for 20 minutes (namely, this foam party lasted for so long (did they feel sorry for the foam? ), began to slowly but surely creep around the rooms, without waiting for the disco, because there was music, exclusively, club (thumping and monotonous) to which you can only dance under a very large dope.
The next day on the beach, the animator who sold us tickets asked us if we liked the party, and after receiving the answer that we didn’t really (to put it mildly), shamefacedly asked us not to tell those who had not yet been to this party, because that they are held there regularly, and if we tell that it was bad, then no one will buy tickets and they will get from the owner of the hotel.

Tourists.
The main contingent of the hotel - Russian. A few Germans, Poles and Czechs.
This year our vacation came at the end of Ramadan.
In Egypt, at this time, the weekend and all more or less wealthy men book hotels in advance and take their families on vacation.
This is not my first time in Egypt and I have always treated the Egyptians very well, understanding the difference in our mentalities, cultures and religious differences.
I once read the reviews of tourists who got into the same hotel with the Egyptians and did not believe them, it always seemed to me that in Sea Gull all tourists are treated equally well.
The stronger was my disappointment in my once beloved hotel.
So, a couple of days before the end of Ramadan (and this, as you know, is the month of fasting for Muslims), Arab families began to arrive at the hotel. Previously, they were not accommodated in the Sea Gull Premium, because this hotel is still rented from the Pegas tour operator and only Russian tourists have always been accommodated there. Oddly enough, but this year Arabs began to settle in all Sea Gull hotels, including Premium.
Moreover, the Arabs were accommodated only in the best rooms overlooking the sea or the pool.

Now the reason for the lack of good rooms at the Sea Gull Premium Hotel has become clear !! ! !
Normal rooms were kept especially for the Egyptians, despite the fact that Pegasus rented the entire hotel only for his tourists! ! !
Further it was even worse.
I understand what discrimination means! !
If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never have believed it! ! !
In the restaurant, the administrator did not allow to sit at free tables until all the Egyptians had eaten, the waiters at first approached only the Egyptians, if they prepared scrambled eggs, pancakes or that food that was not on the buffet, then at first it was given only to the Egyptians and without a queue. That is, if several Russian people stand in line and wait for something to be cooked for them and suddenly the Egyptians come up, but the cook immediately stops noticing the Russians, immediately forgets all languages except Arabic, and starts cooking only for the Egyptians, no matter how many people there were none. As they say - And let the whole world wait .......
At the request of the Egyptians, separate meals were prepared for them and served only to them.
Looking at how fragile Egyptians collect an incredible amount of food and fill the entire table with plates, I realized that those who say that Russians eat without restraint in Egyptian hotels have never seen how the Egyptians do it.
After the arrival of the Egyptians at the hotel, the already poor cleaning of the rooms became even worse. In the morning, cleaners carefully in several people first cleaned the rooms of the Egyptians, changed linen and towels daily, and only then it was the turn of the rest ....No strength, no time, no desire, no normal linen and towels for the rest left...
On the beach, the Egyptians were given only new towels, the hotel employee specially delivered them to the Egyptians, who first occupied the sunbeds, that is, they never stood in line for towels.
If the Egyptians decided to have a bite to eat, it is natural that on the beach they were given everything without a queue and in any quantity.

You ask, was there anything good in this hotel during our stay? !
It was. Sea. The sun. A wonderful boat trip with the Morning Star team who work on the Sea Gull Resort beach in the hotel's diving center.
We bought this excursion in the hotel lobby from Fathi, a representative of the hotel's diving center, and did not regret it at all.
The tour was called "wish day", the price is $40 per person.
Previously, I had never taken excursions without a tour operator, but this time we took a chance and were very happy.
The boat departed from the hotel beach and did not have to go anywhere, we were also given masks and fins there.
The group was Russian, the guide - Alex and the whole team were Russian-speaking Egyptians, the Photographer was a Russian girl Lena.
The boat is large, three-deck, new. Everything is very clean. We stopped in the open sea near several reefs, swam with masks, looked at the beauty of the underwater world of the Red Sea. stopped for sea fishing where my husband caught a fish))).
The food was very good, fish, meat, chicken, several types of side dishes and salads, there were even fresh king prawns and crabs. Fruits and drinks.
During the walk, the dancer performed a dance with skirts.
The team worked easily and cheerfully, no one was bored.
Paradise Island was really Paradise, because there were few people from other boats, the cleanest beach, excellent sea.
We spent the whole day at the sea and were very happy about it.
At the end of the day, we were brought to the hotel a video and photos from our walk and, as a gift, some CDs with views of Egypt's sights and Egyptian music.

Last year we took a similar excursion to Utopia Island from a tour operator, to be honest, it’s more expensive, more boring, the food is much worse, it takes the same time, but only due to the fact that you are taken by bus to Soama Bay for an hour and a half, collecting tourists from different hotels and back the same way.

Thus, the time of the rest itself is reduced by 3 hours, you are thrown into the sea once for 30 minutes near some small reef, where there are almost no fish. Fishing on the go, i. e. you can't catch anything. They are taken on small ugly crowded boats to the island of Utopia, where there is nowhere for an apple to fall from tourists. That's all. There is no entertainment, except for the construction of any crap out of towels. You can only be on the second deck all together.
There is no professional photography, there is only video, which costs twice as much.
When we were about to leave, we asked our hotel guide Valentina about what had happened to the hotel.
Valentina told us that she herself was shocked by what was happening at the hotel. Before the start of the main season (April), all tourists were completely satisfied with the hotel, service, and food, and after the start of the season, a stream of complaints began.
She repeatedly contacted representatives of Pegasus and informed them that tourists were complaining. But, since all the vouchers to the hotel have long been sold out many months in advance, it is unlikely that anything will change for the better. Valentina recommended that in the future we choose hotels where the managers are Turks, for example Marlin inn. They say there are no complaints about this hotel yet .....Although, there were no complaints about Sea Gull Premium either. So, friends, choosing a hotel in Egypt is a big lottery! ! ! Have a good holiday everyone!
