Rested with friends (two couples) in November 2012. For Egyptians, November is winter. During the day it was +28, at night +18. Some of the employees were wearing sweaters. It was kind of windy in the morning. But visitors did not suffer from such a temperature, they walked in shorts and flip flops. Water temperature +24. At the beginning of our arrival at the sea and in the pool, the water was a bit cold, but this did not bother us. Everyone swam, in the water then it seemed warmer than in the air. By departure, the water began to warm up better, it was objectively warmer. The staff is welcoming and friendly to guests.
Check-in: As in most cases, upon arrival at the hotel at the reception, when checking into the rooms, they offered to live in a bungalow around the perimeter of the hotel. They did not particularly care that the ticket indicated that the rooms were booked in the main building. But since I still wanted to live in the main building, we looked at the possible rooms with a hotel representative, chose the one with the best sea view and for an additional fee (taking into account the bargaining of $ 50), settled in the room after the release of their previous vacationers.
Room: The room was nice big, spacious balcony overlooking the sea and the pool. Nothing smoky, as they wrote in one of the reviews. There was always drinking water in the room, there was a refrigerator with a minibar, but they were not used. Safe available, valuables left there. The bed is good, double bed. Lots of seating areas in the room, good light. The TV has only 1 Russian channel out of many channels (the first channel).

Contingent: The hotel is designed for foreign tourists (mostly Germans, but there were also Englishmen, Finns and representatives of other nationalities), so you will not often hear Russian speech among visitors. However, the waiters understand and successfully speak Russian, there were no problems with communication. There were couples with children, but not many. Many of the foreigners are elderly, it's true. There was an assumption that they go to this hotel from their youth, and have already gradually grown old. ; -)
Meals: Standard buffet, as elsewhere. Probably no frills. The beer is diluted, the wine is so-so, the juices are diluted yupi. Maybe there wasn't enough fruit. But there was always something to eat, the combination of hot foods varied. The hotel has several restaurants. Breakfast and dinner in the main building, lunch in a restaurant by the beach. Dinner by appointment is also held there, but the assortment in it is the same as in the main one. In addition, there are several other restaurants on the territory of the hotel, where in between you can also refresh yourself with hamburgers, ice cream, and pancakes... In general, it is difficult to stay hungry. They drank their own alcohol from the Dutik.
Beach: The beach is sandy, good. Plenty of sunbeds, but if you're late, you'll have to look for free sunbeds. The sea is good and clear. We swam with a mask, you can watch the fish. The pool is clean and warm. But we spent more time on the beach.
Security: The entrance to the hotel and the perimeter is guarded by employees, so there were no strangers in the hotel. The guide said that it is better to be on the territory of the hotel, not to go out. Like, there was a revolution recently and all that, the people became less afraid of the police. But we went for a walk several times after dinner and show programs. Everything was fine.

Entertainment: Animation is rather weak, but that's how you like it. At 10.30 there was water aerobics, but we did not go there. Beach volleyball started at 11.00 and 15.00, where it was very pleasant to play with foreign rivals. Even at the end of the holiday, we tried windsurfing (there is a training point) and began to actively study. It was even a pity that they didn’t get on the board earlier. We did not go on excursions, as we were only a week and wanted to spend more time on the beach. The guide, as always, offered various excursions. Quite expensive for the price. Near the hotel in the excursion center "Gena Tagil Rulit" the same excursions are half the price. ; -) It gets dark early there. At 5 o'clock it already begins to get dark, at 18.00 dinner begins. At the hotel at 21.00 there is always an entertainment program, then dances, then songs, then tricks, then some kind of performance. In general, there is something to see. You can dance. A disco is held on the 2nd floor after 12 at night, but no one danced there especially. Except us a couple of times.  Near the hotel on the street there are many stalls with souvenirs, you can take a walk to take a look. Nearby there is a fairly large disco "Little Buda". Locals do not go there (expensive and face control at the entrance). You can go in and see what's there. The girls went there for an hour (when the entrance for girls was free), but they didn’t like the music, the contingent. They quickly ran away. Entrance costs $20 until 11pm, $25 after. Reserve a table 200$. Once we went to Hurghada. It is not far from the hotel to the city center. A lot of taxis pass by, everyone wants to give a lift, they honk, they stop, they attract attention. We paid $2 one way. You can also walk in the city. But as it begins to get dark, the desire of local residents to sell goods increases, so we tried to retreat in time. You can find shops with fixed prices in the city and avoid haggling when buying goods.
Cleaning: The room was clean, cleaned well, in the rooms they didn’t lay out any animals from towels, although they left them a dollar, and no. And they themselves turned the goose. ; -) If you had to change beach towels, you had to additionally tell the cleaner, or leave the room at the door, as some did. The bed was always made, the canopy over the bed was changed.
Thus, in the hotel you can have a good, calm rest not for expensive.
Conclusion: Siva Grand Beach 4 * is a good value for money hotel for a relaxing and measured holiday.
