We rested at the Steigenberger Al Dau Beach 5 * hotel from November 7 to 15.2008. I want to warn future tourists right away. Do not take the offers that our operators give at face value. The fact that they sell you here does not mean that you will get the same there.
I read a lot of reviews, including that Coral sells one thing, but it turns out completely different, but I decided to go anyway, to take a chance, so to speak. Coral sells this hotel as DELUX, in fact it is 4, Coral sells LUXURY ALL INCLUSIVE, in fact, the bar in the room is paid, drinks are imported for money. As the hotel guide explained to us, for two months now the hotel has changed the food system from LUXURY ALL to the usual ALL, and Coral still sells LUXURY food. They work for a fool.
Again, my review is certainly not an indicator, but choosing Egypt, we know what we are going for.
We spent the first vacation in Egypt 5 years ago in Sharm in the Savoy hotels, which, as it turned out later, was a luxury class (like this) the rest was amazing, the hotel is gorgeous !!!
The impressions and the sea are unforgettable, so we decided to go to Egypt again, and when I chose the tour, the woman from the travel agency said if you were in Savoy, then you should only go to Hyatt Regency, Ritz Carlton, Reef Oasis, otherwise all other hotels will cross out all your impressions of Egypt. Which, by the way, happened, but I am an optimist by nature and found positive aspects in everything.
The tour cost 7.113 rubles for 8 nights for two, the room as offered by Coral DELUXE ROOM SEA VIEW, LUXURY ALL INCLUSIVE food, vip transfer ...not everything was like that at all, as I wrote above, be vigilant do not succumb to all this, so that later you don’t it was excruciatingly painful))

The room was originally 1144 (the first digit is the floor). I immediately asked the hotel guide to change the room, they searched for a long time and offered to look at the fifth floor of 1566.
The view was very good, the wing further from the airport, right above the main restaurant, and the sea, and the stage opposite (it's nice, because every evening there is animation, and you sit on the balcony after dinner, for example, drink and watch the show), BUT! ! ! I don't know how this hotel can be considered DELUX and generally give it five stars if there is no bathroom in the room, no door to the toilet???!! ! (see photo). It just killed me on the spot (this happened to us once when we stopped in Rimini for one night in a 3-star hotel). In general, we decided to look at the room that we were given on the first floor from the very beginning. It was no Sea view, almost in the basement, of course you can’t see the sea, the view is on some kind of concrete wall, but there was a bathroom and a shower room (there was no door again, although as we were later explained this FAMILY ROOM, sorry , but what if you wash with children ??!!! ). Of course, we chose a room on the fifth floor, giving the hotel guide $20.
What pisses me off the most is that you pay that kind of money for a ticket and still have to pay extra for a room, then for extending the number. This was the first thing that pissed me off, but then I calmed down and, as they say, spat, I think ...let the puddles with him (the water spilled instantly throughout the bathroom as soon as you turn on the shower, it didn’t drain, but stood until it was wiped off and stank of mold, see photo).
The second disorder is the sea. Absolutely right, people write: there is no sea !! ! We were driving across the sea, so we were very offended. Never swam in the sea, never used a mask and snorkel! To plunge into the sea you need to walk 400-500 meters knee-deep and only after that you can plunge. We never got there, turned around and went to the pool. We swam in the pool all week, because there was a cool breeze and, as you can imagine, you plunged, then you go 500 meters, and a cool breeze blows you . . not a pleasant feeling.
The beach is small, there are few sunbeds. By 10.30 everyone was already busy on the beach.
What did you like.
Food: very well fed (I don’t know what people write that it’s not diverse, what else can there be variety) Always a good selection of salads, side dishes, meat, fish. Two soups for lunch. And as for cakes, ice cream, cake ...a huge selection. Food for 5+. Loved the themed dinners. Every day the cuisine of different countries: Italy, France, Germany, Asia, etc. For young children from 1.5 years old (I carefully studied everything that children can eat), mashed soups are not spicy, boiled vegetables, meat, cereals, yogurts.
Animation: I liked it too. Unobtrusively during the day, water aerobics (when you are already completely tired of wallowing), volleyball, football, dancing. Evening animation every day is very good.
Territory: large, green, beautiful, well-groomed. 5 stars for sure.
One large pool with a waterfall, a "lazy river" on inflatable circles you can ride, a heated pool with sea water, a children's pool and a children's playground. I really liked the children's town (see photo). The kids were constantly entertained there, there are separate rooms for modeling, drawing, table football, a sports ground.
Vacationers: when choosing a hotel, I hoped that there would be mostly foreigners, but I was amazed that there were more than 50% Russian, Ukrainians there. As if they came to rest in our Anapa! Judge for yourself, I don’t really like such a vacation.
Check-out: if you have a night check-out (we had a plane at 23.30), immediately decide on an extension of the number ($ 40). Of the three families (two families were with children) until 18.00, only we ($ 20 for the hotel guide) were extended until 13.00.
