We had a good rest, but there were questions.

We rested there with my wife and daughter from 26.11 to 3.12. 2011, tour operator - Anex Tour.
What we liked:
- not far from Hurghada airport (about 7 km), not long drive.
- the territory is beautiful, pleasant oriental architecture of the buildings. Everything is located compactly, the rooms are close to both the restaurant and the beach, and the pool was just 10 meters from the door of our room.
- the food in the restaurant is normal, albeit monotonous (especially in the morning for breakfast), but I was glad that there is always fresh fruit (apples, melons, tangerines, oranges, guava, bananas, sometimes pomegranate, fresh figs and dates), and in the morning - freshly squeezed juice guava and melon. But the choice of dishes and their quality improved drastically only after 3 days of our stay, read about it below.
- As for alcoholic beverages, we did not bother, beer is normal, but we are not fans of something stronger.

- Possibility to take oatmeal/rice porridge + hot milk from the coffee machine for a child (child 2 years old) in the morning.
- There was enough space for everyone on the beach, you can always find free umbrellas / sun loungers, even though there were VERY many people in the hotel at that time. In addition to sun loungers, each umbrella has a semi-circular wicker "screen", which was a good cover from the wind (and the weather was quite windy). The beach is sandy, with a gentle bottom, located in a small bay. The water is very clean and transparent. Children need to swim what they need (and adults too, because the depth grows a little further from the coast). But bathed a little (more on that below).
- Two spacious pools - "warm" (with heated water) and "cold" and deck chairs with awnings.

What I didn't like:
- For us personally, it was not critical (and I'm even interested), but the landing route of ALL planes arriving in Hurghada passes over the territory of the hotel, and large airliners go quite low. Hence the noise of the engines during each landing approach.
- The aerobics area is located by the "warm" pool, which was next to the room. During the day, constantly loud music, had to close the doors and windows. Therefore, if possible, ask for rooms in distant buildings (which are closer to the sea and in the outer rows).
- In our room, at first, only relative cleanliness - countertops, tables and bedside tables were quite dirty, we even had to wipe ourselves first ...
- The cleaner washed the floors in the room only symbolically, and washed them for real, thoroughly, only in the presence of a senior hotel employee who had a “Sheriff” badge on his chest (has nothing to do with the police ). Towels and bedding in the room were changed ONLY after our reminder.
- The quality of food in the restaurant was at first inconsistent, and on the third day some delegations appeared at the hotel (probably familiarization, from travel agencies) and the choice of dishes improved dramatically.

And this despite the fact that initially in Sunrise food was considered better than in neighboring Mamlouk and VERY many vacationers from there went to eat with us! Imagine what kind of food was then in Mamlouk.
- Since November 2011, the hotel has changed the concept and now everyone who has paid for the All Inclusive system when booking a tour, BRACELETS are attached to their hand (which were NOT WEARED previously for All Inclusive users), which implies your right to use some hotel services for free, and for others to pay.
- And most importantly, what we forgot about, and what we were NOT REMINDED of in advance - check-in at the hotel (as in many other hotels in the world) only from 14-00. And since we had a very early flight from Kyiv to Hurghada, so after arriving at the hotel we had to sit with a small child in the lobby from 8-00 until lunch, waiting for the settlement! At the same time, they didn’t even feed us in the morning (although they were obliged). This episode markedly spoiled our first impression.
- Mosquitoes.
I don’t understand where they come from in the scorched desert, most likely they breed in irrigation canals. But we and the child were sometimes bitten at night.
- There were some factors that are not dependent on human activity, in particular - very windy weather and very cold sea (as for Egypt), the water was somewhere around 18-20 degrees (although on the table at the hotel they wrote that the water in the sea was 23, which is complete nonsense), and there were very few bathers. It still didn’t stop my wife and I from swimming, but the child had to bathe only in the “warm” pool.
Conclusions: The hotel does not pull on 5 stars, on the strength of the four. If you don’t dwell on the minuses described above (which seem to be more than pluses), then you can still have a good rest (which we did) and, frankly, I would stay there for another week. But set your own priorities for choosing a hotel.
