I stayed with my husband at the end of December 2012. The price of the tour for 2 was 475 dollars (breakfast-dinner, 7 days). Could not go!
In Egypt - 7 times. We also rested in Turkey, Tunisia. There is something to compare with, so the review will be objective.
HOTEL: located near the airport, close to Sheraton Street (something like the center), across the road from the sea (70 meters). It consists of several buildings: old and not very old. According to this, your comfort and coziness will depend on which building you will be accommodated in. We were first settled in the old one (something between a transshipment base and "numbers" in the Kansas province of the times of treasure hunters. They gave us 10 magic dollars at the reception, they changed the room to the best one they had (on the first floor, in the building where a restaurant is also located).

TERRITORY: claims for 4 stars. Perhaps earlier this hotel was 4 ****. Everything is green, well-groomed, beautiful, two swimming pools, sun loungers, umbrellas, bars, lawns. There is a playground for children (with swings).
ROOM: everything worked, although the design itself (for example, the shower stall, including its area) could be better. The view from the window was on the pool. Large balcony with dryer, 1st floor. Cleaned every day very carefully. We left half a dollar for baksheesh (3 pounds of theirs).
BEACH: large L-shaped area with a bay. There is both a descent to the corals and a sandy shore. Lots of free sunbeds. No one is on top of each other. There is a beach bar with towels provided. At the entrance to the beach sits a fruit vendor. More expensive than in the city, but you can always buy bananas, guava, mangoes. . . There is a small coral reef. Not as picturesque as in Sharm, but very inhabited. Once, when descending into the sea (near the ladder), they observed a poisonous lionfish (almost stepped on it). We also saw a sea snake right there (almost got it wrong! ). Fish, corals, shells, hedgehogs - all this is enough. So be sure to wear a mask. Well, a first aid kit in case this trash bites you (pah-pah! ).
FOOD: breakfast significantly loses to dinner. For example, they don't serve butter in the morning. There was no dish so familiar to Egypt - olives. For breakfast there was an omelette, two types of side dishes, vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage), two types of cheese, boiled sliced sausages. Sometimes tomatoes ran out, there were not enough for all the tourists. There was nothing fermented milk (yogurts, kefirs). Coffee diluted to disgrace. Baking is good. Two types of cold drink.

In general: you will not go hungry! For example, we ate omelettes, cheese, vegetables, took croissants (with 2 types of jam), coffee was half made with milk. Dinner is fabulous!! ! Every other day, fish, always two types of meat (chicken, kebab, stewed beef, boiled pork), several types of side dishes, vegetable sauces and sauces, pickles, two types of mashed soup. Delicious bread. But the most delicious thing that struck us was their signature cake (biscuit, protein cream, white and dark chocolate). Usually sweets in Egypt are either cloying or some kind of wet. The same cake claims to be a solid fashionable dessert of the best Kiev restaurants. Probably, this is their signature number, because the cake (huge, for the whole baking sheet) was served daily for dinner. Never had diarrhea or poisoning. Fruits: oranges alternated with dates.
In Egypt, we usually satisfy our alcoholic needs with a drink “guavovka”. We buy packaged guava juice, bring vodka from home, dilute one to four (“soft guavovka”), or one to one (“strong guavovka”). People with a developed imagination can cook "mangovka", "pineapple", etc. In a supermarket in the city, guava juice costs 5-6 pounds. In the shop at the hotel - 10. Water - 2-3 pounds.
USEFUL TO KNOW: travel in a city bus costs 1 pound. For a taxi, of which there is a shaft, negotiate for 5-10 (no more). Once a taxi driver “persuaded” us to get to the center for 2 pounds, that is, in fact, at the price of a minibus.
Be prepared for the fact that changing the currency is problematic. Indeed, compared to Sharm, there are practically no exchangers here. In any case, we found only one (in the center, near the Karkusha store). At the reception and in the shops, the exchange rate is very unfavorable. So, change the currency at the airport immediately upon arrival, when you pay for the visa.
OVERALL, we had a good rest. There were few tourists due to the political situation in the country. The hotel is mostly Russian-speaking. There were several killer companies (from Tagil), running up their behavior to rudeness. The staff is patient and polite. Documents and valuables are best stored in a safe at the reception (free of charge). And do not open the mitten)):
