SURVIVAL QUEST
Rested with her husband and son in Jardine from 6 to 17 March. They flew to Egypt for the third time. The previous two times were in other hotels and were very satisfied. This time there are a lot of impressions (mostly negative), which is why the review turned out to be so long.
I will try to be objective and start with the pros, and what, in my opinion, really corresponds to the indicated 5 stars in this hotel. The first is a beautiful territory and a well-groomed garden. The second is, for the most part, tasty food in sufficient quantities. So respect and gratitude to gardeners and cooks!
And now about the hard everyday life and the struggle for survival of the Slavic tourist in this hotel.

Settlement. We arrived at the hotel around 8 am. Within half an hour, everyone was settled, which, of course, was very pleasing after a night flight. Having received the keys, we went to look at the room. Room on the 6th floor, first up to the 5th floor by elevator and another floor by stairs. The room is under the roof without insulation, it is hot and stuffy in the room because the roof heats up in the sun, constant technical noise is heard (I suspect air conditioners or hoods). The balcony offers a wonderful picturesque view of the peeled wall, two chicken coops with clucking chickens, a dog barking on a chain and a dump. A strip of sea in the distance. We return to the reception, ask to change the room. To which the receptionist with an arrogant and despicable face said that he gave us a wonderful standard room with a sea view and if we are not satisfied, we can hand over the key and sit until 14 o’clock, but he still won’t give us a better number, so don’t Let's go to the garden! So instead of the standard, we got a promo room that costs less and we didn’t subscribe to this option at all! And they do this because the hotel is full of Arab tourists and all the good rooms overlooking the interior are given to them. When there are many Arab guests in the hotel, the Slavs can not count on a decent room. And in general, as I understand it, the Slavs in this hotel are unwanted guests. By the end of the day, we nevertheless resolved the issue and changed the room for $ 10 when another shift with more responsive staff took over at the reception and moved during dinner, but the day was lost and the mood was spoiled. The new room was on the 3rd floor with access to a common terrace. The equipment in the room was in good condition, the furniture was normal. But still there was a minus - the room opens onto a common corridor where the technical entrance to the dining room is located. So, every night carts with food were brought along this corridor, they rattled with iron basins and rumbled something. During the night, we woke up several times from this noise and roar. Didn't get a good night's sleep. In addition, there are no doors in the common corridors; in windy weather, terrible drafts walk around the hotel and there is also a decent siphon in the room from the window.
Cleaning. No complaints about cleaning. As everywhere in Egypt. The cleaner guy brought water, paper, napkins, towels (although towels are not for everyone), the bed was changed once. I did not make any figures from towels. A big plus, he was unobtrusive and modest, he didn’t burst into the room, when we left the room he asked what we needed and didn’t bother anyone with his excessive presence. Tipping was left every time, the guy was positive.
Contingent. The hotel has guests of many nationalities, but half of the hotel is inhabited by local Arabs, on weekends from Friday to Sunday they come in great numbers and it seems that the entire hotel is inhabited by locals. I have nothing against people of different nationalities, but still there must be at least some, even a tiny culture, and generally accepted rules of conduct must be observed. I have never seen such a nightmare! The hotel should develop instructions or rules of conduct in public places for local guests, and until they learn this instruction as a keepsake, do not let them into the hotel!
In order not to be unfounded, I will give a few examples:

History first. Dining room, breakfast, the slender German put two eggs, a tomato, a cucumber and two toasts on his plate, left his things, put the plate on the table and went to pour a cup of tea. A large Arab family sits on two adjacent tables and watches the German with interest. The table of the Arabs is full of plates with mountains of food. And, as soon as the German left to get tea for himself, one of the Arab women gets up, takes the German’s plate, carries it to her table and begins to distribute food to her compatriots. Those, in turn, happily snatch what they liked, and at that moment the German returns. Silent scene! The German has eyes like saucers, he points his finger at the plate and tries to say that it was actually his breakfast. To which a kind woman gives him an almost empty plate, saying, dear, eat, there is still something left. ? )))))) Everyone, applause! The poor fellow's appetite was completely gone, you should have seen how this German ran from the dining room, he almost forgot his bag.
The second story. Dining room. The Arab grandmother decided to eat soup, poured it into her bowl, washed her hands in it without leaving the soup vats, studied the contents with her fingers, apparently it did not suit her, and without a twinge of conscience poured this soup back into the common vat. All! The curtain!
In the dining room, in general, Arab guests behave, to put it mildly, not permissible, their children sit and stand on the tables in shoes, then the waiters lay out the cutlery in the same place where the child trampled and the next tourist sits down to eat the microbes brought on the child’s shoes. When picking up food, Arab guests apparently do not know that they can use special devices, since most of them pick up food with their hands, put their hands into the cakes up to their elbows, try them, and if they don’t like the bite, they put it back, the children take the scoops and spoons and lick them. The concept of a queue does not exist for them. They collect mountains of food, it is physically impossible to eat so much, so games begin with food - they throw food on the floor, take it outside the dining room and throw it into the pools, rub the sunbeds, decorate the flower beds and sprinkle the beach. I do not want to offend anyone, and among the Arab guests there were well-mannered people, but only a few of them. The main part behaves exactly like this.
The third story is sad. My husband and son are walking along the path along the pool. Two Arab teenagers are walking by. One of them, apparently to show his toughness, spit loudly and spit into nowhere. But the spittle landed squarely on my child's foot. The Arab squeezes something out of himself, I hope it was an apology, and runs away with a laugh. The son was washed and calmed for a long time. It's not funny anymore.

History four. We are lying on the beach, there are three of us, we have three sun loungers standing side by side. There are also things, towels. My son and I went swimming, my husband is sunbathing. A group of Arab women come up to our sun loungers and, without a hint of embarrassment, take our sun lounger without a word. The husband waves his hands, what are you ladies doing, but the reaction of these ladies is generally a masterpiece, they pretend that they don’t see him point-blank, stupidly take a deck chair and settle down next to you. And this is in the presence of many free sunbeds around.
History fifth. Evening, tourists are seated in the amphitheater before the evening show. Arab teenagers are playing - throwing pillows-seats. Pillows fly all over the amphitheater, dirty, rolled on the floor in dust and dirt, fly into people's heads, faces, knock down small children. None of the Arab parents makes any comments about this to their children. In general, for all the time I have never seen them make a remark to the children or say it is impossible. They can do everything! Europeans are generally shocked by everything that is happening, attempts to rein in hooligans do not give any results. People just start leaving. And then another pillow hits a local man on the head and finally he scolded them in Arabic and they stopped this disgrace.
For 12 days of staying at the hotel, I can tell a great many such stories. By the end of the holiday, my eyes began to twitch and I really wanted to go home. What kind of rest can we talk about if for a moment you are afraid to relax and lose vigilance.
Pools. There are about 10 swimming pools on the territory of two hotels. But only two are heated. The temperature in them, of course, does not correspond to the 28 degrees that we were told about, but they heat up to approximately 24-25 degrees. In Jardine, which is filled to capacity with tourists, the smallest and deepest (1.80 m) pool is heated, there is nowhere for children to swim. And since in early March the weather is windy and the sea is cold, the bulk of vacationers huddle by the warm pools. And I want to remind you that there are a lot of vacationers, the hotel is packed to capacity. Given the number of people and the specifics of the contingent floundering in this small warm pool, it consists of urine and chlorine. With sun loungers near the warm pools is generally a global problem, they are sorely lacking. The staff in charge of the pool makes money on this, they take sun loungers for the Germans for tips. At first we also used this service, you give a dollar - miraculously a free sunbed appears. Otherwise, there are no free sunbeds. The rest of the tourists set the alarm for 7 am to take a sun lounger. If you didn’t take it at 7, everyone was left without a sunbed for the whole day. And this despite the fact that free sun loungers stand in piles of dust on the cold pools and the problem of shortage is easy to solve and bring them to where they are needed. On this occasion, they went to complain to the guest rileyshin Veronica. Sun loungers were added but the problem with the shortage still remained. The sun loungers are right next to each other, there are a lot of people, I personally do not like such close proximity to strangers. It's hard to call it a vacation.

On the territory of the Riviera, a large pool is heated, it has a drop from deep to children's and there is a calmer and freer atmosphere, the contingent is mostly Europeans, there are ours and a few Arabs, more pleasant staff at the pool. That's where we went, made friends with the guy the caretaker of the pool and for a little gratitude he was very kind, helpful and always found free sunbeds and cheered me up with his smile. Although in a normal hotel, the availability of sun loungers for tourists is included in the price and does not require any special efforts to find or additional investments.
All other pools and water park with ice water. In the picture, when choosing a ticket, everything looks beautiful, which we fell for. But you can’t use all the pools that are in the pictures and the water park, the water in them is icy, the wind is constantly blowing, in such conditions swimming is not possible. Another pool was opened recently, but it was built solely for beauty and beautiful photos for travel agencies in order to lure tourists, vacationers are not allowed into its territory and loungers. When asked why, the answer is simple - because it is new!
I want to note the good work of the rescuers in the Riviera, we witnessed when a woman became ill in the water. The response of the rescuers was immediate. Well done!
In general, we noticed that in the Riviera the staff is more well-mannered and positive than in Jardin.
Sea. In the first half of March, the sea is cold. After high tide it is warmer and you can swim, but during our stay almost all days a cold wind blew and it was cold to swim in the sea and get out of it. There are many sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, but the mattresses are dirty, and in order to lie down you need to look for a clean one. There are no barriers from the wind, and the need for them is very large, the beach is blown by all the winds. The sea is shallow, you can reach the depth by pontoon or by sea, but the bottom is muddy and sometimes with stones, it is not pleasant to walk along it and the descent into the sea is sharp and rocky. During low tide, the pontoon is closed, so it seems to be there, but if the tides are low during the day, then the pontoon, like many things in this hotel, is present only for beauty, you cannot use it.

Towels. There is only one towel dispenser and it has a break, just at the time when lunch is in the dining room. Everything for the convenience of tourists! At the issuance of towels, a significant incident also happened to me. It was windy and after swimming I came to change two wet towels for dry ones. Two moose are standing at the door and baring their teeth, please change two towels for dry ones for me. Answer no towels, get out of here. (exactly in this tone, do not be sorry madam, but on you and in familiarity). At this moment, a German comes up and is given dry, clean towels. I'm an adult woman, I'm standing in front of these, I don't want to say who and how a girl I beg you to change at least one thing, please, the wind, it's cold in wet towels. The answer killed! He says where is your husband, if you are cold, go let him warm you! How do you like a 5 star hotel, cool huh?? ? My jaw has dropped!
Dining room. As I already wrote, everything is good with food at the hotel. Lots of food, varied and delicious. With pleasure they ate veal, lamb, duck, stewed and baked beef, fried and baked fish, a lot of fruit, and not cut, but whole, delicious cakes and oriental sweets.
A chef stood on the meat and cakes and gave everyone a piece on a plate, but this is more a plus than a minus, so that vacationers do not spoil all the food with dirty hands and do not pick up mountains and then throw them away. We were satisfied with the food.
The canteen can't cope with so many guests. There is not enough staff, they try their best but with a large influx on the weekend they do not have time to clean the tables. In general, the dining room staff, in my opinion, is the most positive and well-mannered of all hotel services. During lunch and dinner, cutlery is constantly missing. I often had to walk in circles to find a free table. There are a lot of dishes with chips, but I must pay tribute, I did not come across unwashed plates. There are always queues in the dining room: for meat, for vermicelli, for scrambled eggs, for pizza. You can get food here only after standing in a few lines. There is also a line to the bar for drinks. The dining room is noisy and chaos reigns. We went to eat on the summer terrace, where there is fresh air and a calmer atmosphere. Tables are not served there, forks, spoons, napkins were brought by themselves.

Snacks. There is a snack bar near the pool. They cook fries, hamburgers, pizza, you can take vegetables. Opening hours, in my opinion, not entirely successful from 14.30 to 17.00. In other hotels, snacks are open from 12.00. But this hotel has a reduced opening hours, apparently in order to save money. But even here there was an unpleasant story. There are three of us, I came up and wanted to take three slices of pizza on a plate (it is worth noting that the pizza consisted of ketchup and cheese and the slices were cut thinly, you don’t really get enough). But the cook at the distribution only allowed me to take two pieces, arguing that if everyone takes so much food, the hotel will go bankrupt. (It would be better if he said this to the locals, it would be just on business). I just could not find what to answer to this, there are simply no words. Why should I explain that there are three of us, therefore three pieces, and if I alone wanted to eat three? And this is a 5 star hotel, all inclusive?? ? I just turned around and left silently. The mood in this hotel is spoiled everywhere and constantly, a real mockery at every turn.
Bars. The bars in this hotel generally surprised and amazed me. I have not seen such discrimination, humiliation and total savings on a Slavic tourist like here in any other hotel and I could not think that this even happens! The Germans are poured drinks into normal glass glasses or into their personal glasses or half-liter mugs and in such quantities that they can hardly walk by the evening. Our compatriots basically pour drinks into 150-gram disposable cups. Moreover, if it is beer, then on a grand scale so that there is more foam, as a result, beer in this glass is 70 grams at the most. There are always queues at the bars. Here, calculate how many times you need to stand in line to collect at least 300 grams of foam? In one hand, no more than two glasses. Asking for a normal glass is useless - either they will be rude or even turn away like you are an empty place. For 12 days, once at the lobby bar, I got two glass glasses, for half a day they took care of them like the apple of an eye! : )) And how do you like a cocktail in a disposable cup. You sit with such a cocktail in the lobby and feel like a clown. And Germans, Arabs are sitting nearby and their tables are lined with normal glasses of drinks. Such a bad attitude and constant discrimination in all bars. And this is the policy of the hotel, the bartenders are given such an indication. Why the Slavs were so guilty before the management of this hotel is not known. The bartender Mahmud, a young pompous scoundrel with pouty lips and a toothless mouth, was especially distinguished for bullying our tourists, he works alternately either in the bar in the dining room or in the lobby bar. I will not write about the quality of their alcohol, and everyone knows that. The only thing that was normal was beer, if you were lucky in the morning there was a chance to take a cold one. There is wine only in one bar in the dining room and I didn’t manage to try it, when I stood in line and asked Mahmud for a glass of wine, he threw a disposable glass at me with a twisted face in which there was at most 20 grams of wine and started yelling let’s get out of here! This is despite the fact that the jerk is fit for my sons. I did not drink it and did not make more attempts to take the wine. There was nothing left in my throat after that.
None of the bars have juices. There is cola, sprite, mirinda, in containers resembling yuppies with orange and pineapple flavors, and water. So about this water - in no case should you drink it! It is not clear what kind of water it is and where it comes from, we committed a reckless act and not knowing what the situation in the hotel was with water on the first day we drank this water - for 4 days indigestion was guaranteed! Subsequently, I myself personally saw how one of the bartenders poured water from a bucket into the granator to cool the ice, it is clear that someone cooled the bottle in ice, the ice melted and this water was poured into a container of drinking water for tourists. Drink water only from sealed bottles that are brought to the room. You can't get bottled water at the bar, you can only buy it. Therefore, you always have to carry a bottle of water from the room in your bag. Ice for cocktails is also made from the same water, I advise you to refuse drinks with ice.
Wi-Fi. He is only in the hall near the reception. In the evening it works very poorly because everyone comes there to surf the Internet. We bought a card from the local operator Orange at the airport. In fact, it turned out that its content is half that indicated at the sale, but it is still more profitable than buying a card at the hotel.

Animation. None. Arab guys animators are active and our girls, apart from selling tickets to the disco, do nothing, during the evening shows they have such sad faces that you want to regret and cry together. In the evenings, visiting artists perform in the amphitheater. Basically every three days the same thing.
The shops. The hotel has shops but the prices are too high. To the left and right of the hotel there are shops and fruit stands, souvenirs, sweets, textiles, etc. can be bought cheaper.
Findings. Given all of the above, a stay at this hotel cannot be called a vacation. This is a survival quest, in which for your own money they scoff at you and constantly spoil your mood! For the first time in my life on vacation, I really wanted to go home. The hotel does not correspond to 5 stars, in terms of service and attitude towards tourists, it does not even pull on the top three.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel and I will never visit it again.
