Many of us are looking forward to the opportunity to take a break from the hustle and bustle of work and home life on the seashore, especially such a sea as the Red Sea. And they dream for their honestly or otherwise obtained funds to spend it with dignity. That's how it was at the end of March 2007 for me.


The first thing that caught my eye upon arrival at the hotel was its emptiness. The hotel is new, there is no greenery. The eye is not happy. Then the reception of guests. Our group arrived at about 5 in the morning - we were not accommodated (the explanation is simple - check in - 14-00) - the Pegas operator cant (although after a night flight we should have gone to a meeting. For my practice - this is the first time, well, let's endure ), but, oddly enough, no one is actively outraged, although there are tourists with small children and tourists of advanced age.
By the way, the girl who met us at the airport, Natasha, is very weak in organization. Her knowledge of a foreign language is very poor. She could not explain something clearly to us and at the reception and retreated with the wording "wait until they settle. "

Everyone sits like obedient mice and believes in the promise of the hospitable Arabs "to drink a minute to give. " In other words, no yelling, tears and tantrums. Everything is quiet - peaceful. Arab "drink minutes" last from 5 am to 12 noon, when they just had a change of shifts and a new boss came - Mohammed Hasn - I will remember this bastard for a long time.

After 7 hours of waiting, they are ready to give us the keys to the rooms. Thanks to guide Lena and guest relations manager Katya. They really moved the situation off the ground. On my profile, a room number appeared, written by the hand of Mohammed Hasn himself, and out of the kindness of her soul, Katya (guest relations) showed me the location of this room relative to the hotel.
Everything is just super - in the center of the territory, close to the sea and the pool.
But then the manager didn’t like something - and in front of my eyes he crosses out the number that he had already written and writes another one, located in the very corner of the hotel territory - far from everything.


I am good with English, I begin to calmly explain myself to him, finding out the reasons for changing the number. He tells me that it's none of my business. And that he has the right to give me any number. I say that he himself wrote it before. He gives the reason - the breakdown of the refrigerator - you have to wait until 14-00. I agree, why should I wait a little longer. Then he realizes that he made a mistake and says that at 14-00 he will give me the number he wants and no other. Like, it's his business. Concluding the conversation with a phrase worthy of any hotel manager who is designed to ensure a comfortable stay for guests: “One more word and you (i. e. me) will receive the keys at 14-00! ".
Having swallowed all this, but still having received the keys, I pass into the territory - empty, unfriendly. The weather is very windy, frankly cold. The mood is excellent. After all, ahead of the number, swimming trunks and the sea.

But it was not there at the DOMINA MAKADI HOTEL THERE IS NO SEA!! ! Remember it well! There is NO sea! In the morning, the tide is low and 200-400 meters from the sea, you have to walk along the shallows completely covered with jellyfish and their remains that quickly decompose in the sun, which emit a terrible smell. There is absolutely nothing to do on the coast without special shoes, especially if you come with children - they will cut themselves with stones or pierce their leg in the first 5 minutes. Even having overcome the shallows, you will not be pleasantly surprised - you have to enter the water like through a minefield, stumble and you will definitely earn abrasions on the reefs.

Sunbathing in comfort in the hotel is possible only by getting up at 8 am and taking a sunbed on the seashore.
What time you need to take a sunbed to sunbathe on the territory around the pool - I don’t know - at 8 in the morning they are all already taken!

I think it’s not a secret for those who have already rested in hotels that food from breakfast is transferred partially to lunch, then to dinner and again to breakfast, etc.
Weathered sausages were served for breakfast at this hotel throughout the stay. But the miracle is the furthest - the hotel stepped with the processing of potatoes.

So the menu:
The first 2 days - boiled potatoes (cut in half), the third, fourth and fifth days - the same potatoes, but fried in circles, the sixth day - the same potatoes stewed with peppers and tomatoes. And finally, the apogee - the seventh day - mashed potatoes from the same potatoes, spread on a large tray 4-5 cm thick and decorated with slices of tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese and olives! Another inconvenience is that they have their own time in the hotel - Makadi time. It differs from Moscow by an hour and from Cairo by an hour.
Constant confusion about what time to go where.

And at the end of each day, an absolutely stupid and pointless animation show. Either they are not paid at all there, or simply no one controls them (the animation chief German Barbara is mediocrity). I want to note that during the week of my stay on the beach, I did not see any of the animators at work, so they hang out by the pool.

Never have I been so happy to be back from vacation as this time.
