We arrived at the hotel at 9:20. We filled out a questionnaire, gave a key card and an information brochure in Russian. There is a Russian-speaking manager at the reception, which made it easier to resolve minor issues (iron, a trip to the port, changing beach towels... ). The room was on the 1st floor overlooking the pool and part of the sea, but the exit from the balcony was right on the lawn with flowers in front of the room - just a miracle! Everything is standard in the room: the furniture is solid, not shabby, the linen is clean, everything is neat. The entire team of the hotel works smoothly and efficiently. It was very satisfying and made the stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The weather was at the beginning of the 2nd day cool +19 degrees and a strong northwest wind of 26-31 km/h. But we sunbathed by the warm pool, and went for a swim on the pier. Water is always + 22-24. The pier is solid, wooden, it goes well, does not sway, which is important in strong winds. The reef is AWESOME, BEAUTIFUL. There are a lot of different fish, we saw a stingray every day, a lion fish and flocks of the most beautiful fish of all colors and sizes. There is also a diving club for snorkellers.
The whole hotel is in flowers and trees, gardeners are constantly watering, sweeping, cutting. Herons walk, birds sing. All well-groomed.

The beach is large, there are a lot of sun loungers and umbrellas + palm trees and large flowering bushes that create shade. There are wicker fences from the wind, which was important for us at this time of the year, when strong cool winds blow. But there are fewer tourists, calmly, without fuss in the restaurant and on the beach. Mostly Czechs, Poles, Italians, Germans have a rest. their planes fly directly to Marsa Alam, which is 20 km from the hotel. The place here is quiet and calm: there is only desert and hotels around. Relax is complete. The staff is not intrusive, cultured, friendly. Service is above average. Therefore, I agree with the characterization that the resort of Marsa Alam is European Egypt.
The food in the restaurant deserves special praise. But the food was on top: any vegetables, fruits too (apples, pomegranate, grapefruit, orange, melon, strawberry, tangerine, lemon). Fish every day, squid in salads and stewed vegetables, chicken, boiled meat, stew, grilled meat, liver, duck. A bunch of different salads, side dishes, pizza, spaghetti, pasta, lasagna and a lot of desserts (cakes, jellies, creams, eclairs, croissants, rolls, etc. ). from drinks: vending machine with coffee, tea, cappuccino, latte, chocolate, sprite, fanta, cola. Dry white and red wine, rum, whiskey (local), beer on tap and in Stella cans.
We walked along the path along the hotels Braika Royal (ours) and Braika Bay (neighboring), which are connected by a bridge and a common beach-bay with entry from the shore (which is convenient for children and weak swimmers). The Braika Bay Hotel is older, slightly higher level and better in terms of location and service and cuisine, but also, accordingly, more expensive.
We didn’t take excursions, we were already in Luxor, but far to Cairo. The week passed quickly, we managed to sunbathe, swim, recover and enjoy communicating with the sea, warm air and nature of this wonderful place. I recommend the resort of Marsa Alam in Egypt to everyone.
